1. I had a go on one of these in espon guitar guitar , Loved the look .... sound was REALLLLL BRIGHT, too much for my taste the bass played well but just felt too small for my Giant paws
2. White no-name Ebay china special ( 60 quid delivered ) [ Jazz pickups , pots and loom from a Squire Vintage modified Jazz , acquired from a bass gear trading Facebook group , for 25 quid posted Black Jazz bass knobs off amazon which sadly weren't fitted when i took the picture , it plays really nicely way out of its price league for a sub 100 quid bass , I think the set of flats on it must be half the value of the thing oddly its one of the few jazz necks i really really love. its fast and glossy without being sticky.
3. The Olp mm5 ive got Is a 16.5 m spacing , but my status vintage P 4 is standard P dimensions ... so i dont think thats true for all status basses .
4. I found the best way to really understand the MS60B was to think of the 4 outer buttons as a joystick for moving around .... left and right for the different effects in the chain and up and down to cycle your sound .... Try to stick amp sims on the far right so you set up a " Sound" then move on to embellishing / shaping it yourself , stomp once to turn it on stomp once to turn it off then click left or right to queue a different one , then save it as a name. For me in live use i think of the device as a way of setting up your sounds before playing, With the manual in hand for stuff like saving ;-) and then having the unit in Chain mode for using when i'm playing , which i can stomps to move on to the next in the chain. my setups are > A > B > C clean tone > Dirty drive tone > clean tone
5. You don't really need a business account for this , any old joint account is fine the mrs and I when we first moved in wanted to keep our finances separate yet open a totally different account at a new bank to handle "expenses" . we both pay a standing order in once a month which covers everything we need the bank clerk is just trying to do his best to up sell you. My suggestion would be one of these , in a joint flavor. https://www.metrobankonline.co.uk/Personal/Bank-Accounts/CurrentAccounts/
6.
Won't they get dusty?
They all get treated fairly ... I have to pick one from the wall when i practice ... usually on a day rotation .... not to sure about my latest 5 string i think i'm a 4 kinda guy. The only exception you count the B*s*ard stepchild Aria CAT which lives in a case under the sofa :-P and while not being a bad player is of greater sentimental value than financial worth selling but i've outgrown.
7. My better half talked me into to putting them up on the walls ... and now there's no hope . The home office / place she would rather hang out will be wallpapered in basses :-P
8. My better half and I have quite different music tastes I like a bit of everything as long as its technically interesting and well produced , Rock , prog, metal; Soul Funk blues ETC. My other half is only interested in Black metal , death metal , grindcore , Folk metal and Mathcore . She has actually threatended to hurt me when i've been practicing crowded house :-P for the covers gig.
9. Pretty sure once the bug bites she'll want a mike Lull Tbird ;-) specifically to beat the naysayers with post gig ;-)
10. I have two practice setups at home , one for when the better half is out and one when shes not ;-) My old Behringer ULTRABASS BX1200 essentially a very loud knock off Hartke kickback , This multipurpose beast , its been used as everything from a kickback monitor to my Jam night amp as the Trace lives in our rehearsal studio's storage unit , these things are worth every penny that they go for on ebay ;-) My second setup is for use at my PC , my zoom B3 straight into PC via USB then into a nice set of can's for silent practice / working on tones for songs ;-)
11. I see this as a larger issue with the way people are seeing and use ebay , as a marketplace for businesses to have cheap / free web stores rather than private sales and it results in two different types of seller on Ebay. I have different levels of patience with them both, and i can see both sides of this story. hypothetical example - names invented for obvious reasons I'm browsing ebay for a nice jazz ( don't try n flog me a jazz I've got a very nice one thank you) If I buy something on ebay from Mrjones1234 who is selling rather nice 90's fender jazz , its on bids with a respectable , Buy it now price , and a nice discription saying he's selling his old faithful jazz because for his 30th anniversary his wife , friends and loved ones club bed together to buy him a 65 Jazz . I expect to give him all the time in the world to ship my item to me , the postage charges are realistic ( lets say £17 quid shipped in hard case) this is a private sale , he is using ebay to market his product and he has lots of good feedback most of it as a buyer he cant run straight down to the post office and ship it to me he has a job commitments etc. 2nd case The jazz is being sold buy DEALZMUZAK they have a BIN and a make me an offer the advert is quite obviously a store or professional ebay retailer someone. This is someone who does this for a living or as a real money maker on the side. The listing is obviously one of many they may have multiples available or you can tell from there other items , that they sell lots of stuff and its a money making venture. This kind of seller is running a business I expect to treat them identically to the way iI would treat buying from any other music store online, The postage and packaging charge they are charging is usually also much higher / not that reasonavle as they are looking to have a cheaper item than all the rest and sideloading profit on the delivery costs.
12. I'll take the ones cut for a Tbird :-) PM inc
13. if the crowd is my age or younger ;-) Sixpence none the richer version of , Don't dream its over , Crowded house Stone sour , through the looking glass Slide * Goo goo dolls , the more overlooked Kyptonite - 3 doors down For the wedding party staples ;-) Moves like jagger , Maroon 5 ( great fun) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqyXMXRyD5g especially if your singer can strut. Toxic - Juliet turner ( Brittney spears) Everytime , Glen hansard and colm Maclomaire https://www.youtube....h?v=qNKzdbEDlHI ( we've filled it out a bit but you get the idea) Raiding the early 90's bin Roll to me last to know Del amitri Get what you give New radicals Real gone Kid Deacon Blue SmashMouth All star .. complete with fake keyboard scratching sounds. A shocker where the quiet bass player at the back give's his tbird to the keyboard player and sing's because he cant get anywhere near the highs when he's playing. Barenaked Ladies All been done before
14. I got my Status of the wall the other day for a good jam , admittedly I've been favoring the T-bird as it works better for the outdoor gigs we have been doing and i'd be heartbroken if the status even got dinged. I've used it previously with great effect and i remember being happy with it I plugged it in and spent an hour trying to find a usable tone and either i'm so inept and incapable of finding a usable sound out of an active bass I've always been a passive guy previously. What i'm very worried has happened is one of the twin active circuit pots is no longer responding there is no tonal difference between fully maxed out and fully zeroed and that the bass bought on here as a gift by my better half will obviously be out of warranty @ status. Im considering taking it to a guitar shop because my knowledge of Electrics is ZERO , but i'd be worried that they wont want to touch it either I've tried brand new batteries ,multiple amps ... it sounds TERRRIBLE through my trace E and slightly less terrible through my practice combo which is even weirder all of my passive stuff sounds fine . Is anyone around here an " active genius " and can offer some help . Synth

Rumple

Part Exchanged a telecaster for an OLP 5 with Dave , excellent communication and very understanding when I had a bit of a disaster on collection day . Deal in confidence this guy will not let you down .
16. I notice everyone's missed something from there lists which I consider a bi critical. Some J-cloth / handkerchief / kitchen roll I cant tell you the number of ways having this on stage has saved both gear and pride . I was playing a street party last weekend and it was hotter than hell , punters dancing around beers were flying and we were in a tent on ground level as the best part of a pint of cider went flying over the guitarists prized 1990's tap-dancing FX board 2 songs before the end .... Kitchen roll to the rescue , plus fingers and face get a bit sweaty especially if your putting your all in ,especially on small stages them stage lights are incredibly warm when there about a foot away from your face at the Rat and biscuit.
17. I have one of these specifically for any international transactions , no overdraft on it just a cash type card , if im making a payment move some cash from my normal account and pay ;-). 18. Ha Ha . before i resprayed it my CAT was exactly that horrible sparkle glitter red ( i think they called it candy apple ) that the Diamond JL pointy is playing in that video ... Now its green ;-) ... still appley honest ;-)
19. So i'd totally pick it up for 75 quid , i have owned a few of the late 80's early 90's aria's mainly CAT's with the odd SB or TSB and while the body construction is usually a bit artificial , on the lower end model's such as the CAT . The play-ability , quality of tone from the pickups and feel on there necks are usually wonderfu. l i'd be happy to just grab it for the hilarious double P J configuration .
20. that went stupidly cheap disapointed i didnt grab it to replace my 15 inch GP7
21. Can you be tempted by a trade rumple , Part exing my semi telecaster 6 string copy its a nice player branded aleisi Ii'd planned to use it for a project but its too nice a player for me to cut to pieces its had fresh set of strings and setup by our guitarist who actually really likes it and was convinced i'd spent much more on it than i had. Part ex with some cash your way ? claws off the status telebass though ;-)
22. If these go separately i'd be interested in the B3 sorting somthing out with somone else for the expression pedal
23. What time sunday i'll pop in an lurk, you could hit the moot house with a plywood Encore bass from my house.
24. Remember Thomman do a 30 day no quibble returns service sadly its only free inside germany , BUT if you dont get on with the CV you can return it , for probably around 10-15 quid that makes the risk substantially less.
