Our first cat was called Catbert ... after the Dilbert comics " evil director of human resources " We now Have , Sebastian and Ryan ... who are ginger brothers ... and Misha who is a Huge white Siberian forest cat ... Interesting , i wonder if the heat issue is why they went " G2" .. on the EV's ... i've not noticed any heat issues whatsoever ... usually feel stone cold at teardown after a 3 hour gig , but it is winter and while the stages are warm im a sweaty bugger while performing combo of nerves and frantic dancing around, the venue's usually aren't .. I'm not sure we need anymore bass out of ours if i'm honest ... 😮 ... We used a set of the equivalent ( identical looking) Mackie thumps this NYE as we rocked up the venue and they were already mounted up on the stage in the only suitable place to run them .... soundchecking them our guitarists were complaining that they were having to adjust all their EQ's it was " TOO bassy " ( the mackies were set to live ) which looked to be the most Flat response from their 4 EQ presets. I was told we sounded great and it felt good on stage but even i decided to turn my cab sim off as the bass with it on was quite thunderous in the smallish venue in uxbridge.

Were totally in love as a band with our new EV's we went with a pair of EV ZLX 15P G2's were running full band , fully ampless with mic'd drums into it and it doesn't bat an eyelid ... were playing pretty loud punk rock shows and they are run at +2 the thing goes to from -12 +12 , We've totally kicked the idea of Subs to the kerb as if were playing anything we'd have venue front of house. Its got all 3 flavours of Modular , Darkglass , Quad cortex and the new fender Tonemaster , stuff.

Thank you for the offer but I ended up taking it to the recycling centre on the clean up for Xmas , I felt bad but its been recycled at least.... we're using the surviving one as a side fill as it's got a smaller footprint than our current wedges.

I bought a "cheap" classic vibe p bass to play my own wedding over in Latvia to save me travelling with my ray , Sometimes, Ive taken it to gigs which need two tunings .. and a quick swap. The last time I We giggled I didn't swap I retuned the p to standard and kept going as it sounded immense .. I was quite literally dancing with another woman Infront of my rather outraged .. Stingray .. ... Even the photos look like I'm having more fun. I'm considering doing it again ... Especially as I've now got an anagram which removes the need for two basses as the pitch shifter is great....Send help or a good divorce lawyer

I actually use a old cheap Noise gate pedal to do this for my own personal Bass Mix ,into my IEM's headphone amp you might have one laying around to save you buying the behringer one. but its super cheap ... so maybe just go that route and then she doesnt need a dedicated IEM pre-amp

Dean never seem to help themselves , they have so many types of " EDGE" , but then don't mark them on the blooming truss cover. There's an Edge "1" , 2 , Select , Premium , special models , Edge Pro , its almost as bad as saying " P" bass" hey even made a european model in the spector plant >.< . That looks like one of these to me , if its definitely Passive , it is still a Korean model .. so good Qc and build but definitely closer to entry level than one of the upper edge models , giveaways are the Die cast turners , and a basswood body , obviously yours's not in Trans red 😉

So , We bought the bullet and got Pair of EV active speakers , which sound Amazing and do everything under the sun. The working Mackie becomes a rear stage monitor , we have front wedges , the old one is in my Garage area to take down to the Tip when I get some time ... i cant justify keeping it for spares unless anyone local, wants to claim it , ( I might post it in the freebies section ) Unfortunately I don't feel like getting it working would save it for the band at this point its " tainted " as far as the guitarists are concerned.

Horses for courses sir , I despite Black with a white scratchplate something chronic ... reminds me of cheap nasty argos catalogue instruments , so I wont try and change your mind ... our bands called " Limewired" so manky green is par for the course.

I bought the recent Classic Vibe " re-issue " its REALLY grown on me i wouldn't have picked it over any other finish but playing wise ... through luck or setup kicked the crap out of all the other options and i needed to leave the shop with a bass or i wasn't playing the wedding . Changing the Antigua Scratchplate to a black one was a massive improvement IMHO , the " colour matched" one is going begging if anyone is DESPERATE for Antigua on Antigua . Its Standard Fender screw pattern.

Well , considering the confidence that was lost in the two guitarists eyes and the fact that a new one has just arrived , If anyone who wants to have a Go at fixing it is very welcome to come get it from me in near woking , Stew our guitarist was asking if he could go at it office space style.

Last night ... " well saturday" ... our PA failed , We had to spin our Monitor round and crank it to make up with it ... as a Fully ampless band this was a bit of a disaster. The right side of the Mackie Industrial ART 200A would not transmit any sound from the main speaker ... the Horn/Tweeter was producing sound confirming that it wasn't a power issue or a mixer send issue , I confirmed this swapping it and in my post mortem testing sunday ... when i cracked it apart hoping to find a simple issue like a loose terminal connection and within my cack handed ability to mend. Sadly is seems one of the EQ block's is soggy / rotten 😐 Annoying ... but we've had to rush order a new EV PA ahead of next weekend's gig , the band voted with their wallets after being let down by used gear.

This would probably be fine if the wrap was over a bass that wasn't cut for a scratchplate ... that Bitsa's body had a blooming great swimming pool sized rout underneath the scratchplate which was great for weight relief considering im sure the body was MDF ... but one assumes the maker used the same jig for Soapbars , P's etc ... so i left the plate on for support it .. If you had a solid body / no scratch plate i'd expect it to be fine ..... It was more hard wearing than i thought it would be ...

Yup , works a treat ... I had a jazz bitsa with a rather weird layout scratchplate and it was white on white pearl 😐 not for me ... wrapped it black worked a treat. From this To this

So , it will depend on the finish of the bass itself , Poly / VS Nitro ... i would avoid trying to stick anything on Nitro finishes ... that way lies ruin. I've had pretty good results with this Clear mounting tape then cleaning off any residue with Isopropyl alch but this was on THICK Glossy 90's Poly on an old Aria .... I think kiwi's carpet tape solution looks like it might work pretty well too ... Again clean off residue . with Iso or non acetone based nail polish remover WHOOPS its removed the link it was Clear Gorilla Double-sided mounting tape from Amazon.

i Suddenly wish i still had this thing to sell on but , i know its a right hander , but with no plate and some super low profile knobs it would have just been the ticket i sold this thing to a guy starting a local 80's cover act , it was a matt eggshell texture , and it played really quite nicely . Washburn " lyon"

For the longest time ..... I did not need or in fact particularly care for Precisions .... I prefered the jazz body shape , i prefered the tone and artists who used Rays' ... Or gibson basses. I suspect it's the " horrid black Argos / Encore P bass with the white scratch plate that every single young bass player round my neck of the woods was using where I grew up has " tainted " me , i don't recall many entry level Jazz options back then ... unless you had Rich parents ... which not many of us growing up in Hounslow seemed to do. It wasn't until i grabbed a cheap P bass for my own wedding gig a squire abroad to save on shipping a bass i figured i'd buy one then flog it back to them used ... they seemed quite happy about it I played pretty much everything in the store under Euro 500 ..... the Antigua classic Vibe came home and you know what i even paid to ship the bloody thing home ... its great ...

I think there are two distinct differences scenarios that are being confused a little And both do need to be thought of differently Option A. Bass was advertised on basschat sold , and is now back on basschat for a higher price , for whatever reason. Option B Bass was bought locally in a smaller market for a different price and is now being sold on basschat for a higher or perhaps /more realistic price. A usually makes me suspicious of the bass either having an issue or that something distasteful going on, but you had the chance to get that previous price and didn't so it's perhaps only slightly sour grapes that now when you can buy it's a different price. B .. is basically what car dealers do for a living .. the difference is you don't know any better about the history .. unless the buyer had a lengthy post about there amazing Facebook marketplace find in west nowhereslip .
