1. After picking up a trace smc 7215 last night , the guy i bought it from had me test it with a rather nice feeling Squire classic vibe jazz , i was impressed with the build quality and sound out of it. I have a nice jazz .... and as such i'm probably not in the market for another so i'm considering this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221595153832 Has anyone had any experience with one , i must confess I've always lusted after an old school slab P or Telebass in natural so its got me there But any sound samples / personal info would be much appreciated.
2. My obvious bias towards a West London aside ;-) there are a surprising number of sneaky conservative / or working mans clubs lurking around the chiswick /ealing area , they also come with the added bonus of a bar ... A school is probably a good idea to I know my school used to rent out the main hall to various events which had a full stage and they also usually have a whole lot of parking
3. Honestly the "standard" bolt on Epi T birds are really great value for money , especially the older Korean made rather than the slightly newer Chinese ones . I remember buying mine new from Anderton's for my 18th birthday ... i went in dead set on an explorer bass and the guy talked me into the t-bird instead , once i played it i knew why ... I've compared my old bird to the newer pro ones ( ignoring the fact that they are active) I actually prefer the bolt on rather than the neck through for adjustment sake and I've never had sustain issues with this old plank plus it allows you to do to do this tiny mod which really helps with the neck heaviness off the thing. I'd strongly recommend picking one up if you can , they are a lot of bass for not a lot of money :-)
4. Mmmmm that's the one bass that got away a ovation magnum III in smoke-burst :-( i umm and ahh'ed about buying it and in the end missed out kicking myself.
5. Alright ill take it , PM me and we'll sort the arrangements once you've managed to get your paws on it
6. If this falls through drop me a PM and we can try to organise something
7. Its actually nowhere near as hard to Refinish a bass as it seems obviously i wouldn't do this on my pride and joy, I did refin an old Aria CAT P/j from a horrible glitter sparkly red to a nice dart purple and got a fantastic finish with car sprays and a couple of tins of spray gloss varnish. If anyone does decide to do it themsleves just dont make the mistake that i did ..... the drying time on the varnish Is far far far far longer than you think It looked great and felt hard to the touch so i popped it on a stand to dry ...... lets say it "bonded with the stand "
8. .... didn't think that decent systems went that cheap on evilbay .... now we play the waiting game ... oh 'ive already been outbid.... not one of you lot is it
9. Hey folks The rhythm guitarist in the my aforementioned work Christmas party band has been bending my ear about going wireless. Mainly because he's brought a system and wants to move around like a loony While I'm in IT by trade , I've always been fairly analogue in my choice of kit does anyone have experience of the mid to lower end wireless kit Ala thomann specials http://www.thomann.d...tar_bass&oa=pra My concerns are .... does it have the low end response ? Im assuming the kits mainly for "Git-ars" ;-) any idea's or should i just bite the bullet and try one for Bass - Science ;-) i was needing a cable anyway synth
10. If this comes off hold , is there anything you would be interested in trade wise ?
11. Hi and welcome ... from another newb
12. Shes quite purty indeed , I did purchase a tortie scratchplate to swap over but , I never got around to swapping it once the bass arrived, I think its a pretty unique look, here's a cheeky snap , excuse the carpet and purple footed sock. 13. How many are you talking about Are you sure you cant find a way to store them that's a bit less damp and cold. I've been looking in to getting some of these to make a wall of bass , as currently mine live on an army of stands http://english.wiamusic.es/hanger.html Failing that ... what about a bass-chat library service ;-) pay the insurance on a bass plus a small monthly fee to try borrow a item
14. It was long enough for me to miss that mighty fine looking Telebass , i suppose it saves me justifying to the better half about why a slab body P bass with mudbucker would be such a different instrument to all the other stuff in my stable .
15. Yes .... ive been lurking for a while and the bass ,market place is causing CONSIDERABLE GAS ... excuse me its been an hour since i last checked ... there might be something new ..... ;-)
16. Hrmmm what about the Toledo or Surfster after the seafoam Tolex
17. Hi folks , greetings from west London I've been lurking on the forums for a while but due to technical issues i've not posted till now. I'm Another bassist who'd all but given up on playing seriously again to find myself dragged back in by a call to arms for a bass player for my companies work Christmas party. I've fallen completely back in love with it again . In my stable currently reside an Aria Pro II SB-400 in black strung with flats ( I wanted to be cliff Burton Obviously ) an Epiphone T-bird - for when the flat wounds wont cut it a White MiM Jazz with maple neck and white pearl plate and an acoustic bass for when my better half has had enough of vibrating floors. Nice to meet you all synthaside
