1. In Status Vintage P Trace elliot SMX 7215 Trace elliot 1518 cab various pedals Out Ross FAME 15 B.. ( my backup / practice amp to make way for the bigger rig) My year Bigger does not mean better, amp tech has come along leaps and bounds since the late 90's and i probably should have bought smaller and more modern rather than big old and what i knew. My Korean Epi T bird's a keeper , I've got a real gem compared to what they make now. Sound comes as much from familiarity with your instrument, I know how to make that particular bass sing' where all the sweet spots and tones are for each style i play and a new bass does not always improve that until im as good with it . Digitech pedals eat batteries, I need to work out 9 volt power supply stuff because having my pedal fail during Uptown funk is in no way funky.
2. I cant tell you the secret's direct on here everyone would know and the price of vingtage kit would sky rocket .... but if you send a stamped addressed envelope with a cheque for 100 quid , ill forward how :-P 123 Nigeria house Imcallingfromyourbank St Scamsville 4on3ys I use the dun-lop style plastic strap locks myself and while it went on fine with the strap and lock. It spoiled the look with the strap on , as i tend to play sat down at home anyway. The status P bass pictured i have has some of the biggest strap buttons I've come across, like these only abit larger than the size of an old school 5 pence , popping them on a conventional strap was a bit of a game but no issue for the hangers.
3. @ Discrete ... whoops .... ;-) yes i meant right .. its too early and being back at work today is killing me. @ BassBus .. Thats certainly not too many basses ;-) The minimum number of basses one should own is three. The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bass's currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of basses owned that would result in separation from your partner. Those are my 3 MUST have , the rest are not pictured and don't deserve fancy hangers :-P
4. Since my last acquisition grumbles of how untidy our home office / spare room has become too many guitars on the floor and how untidy the stands are . Enter a nice little bass related Christmas present from my folks , and much needed clear up of our spare room , http://www.woodieshanger.com/shop/woodies-hanger-for-fender-style-guitars/ At first i was concerned about them holding the extra weight of bass'es this was quickly dispelled Getting them down is easy you just reach over the sofa and push them up . So easy even our drummer could install em .. The keen eyed among will have noticed an all important space to the left of the status always room for one more .
5. Matski , works a lot better if you start it that way when people search for your name in the feedback forum its just there plus its a good tag on for a signature , let me know if you do . Used this bass for Christmas gig on Friday sounded massive , loads of muddy dark , i'm surprised that i actually prefer the passive sound to the active but this may just be to the way i EQ my amp. I even had venue staff asking what it was , a real players Telebass , now i wonder what it would sound like with flats :-D
6. Welcome !! ....From another recent newcomer and now fully addicted basschatter Just try to stay out of the for sale section there's far far too many pretty things lurking in there waiting to bite .
7. All these heartless folks saying scrap it .... how could you , that is the instrument that sparked your passion :-P My reccomendation would be to hold onto and refinish it properly ... I was in wunjo's on denmark street shopping for new toys .. when i spied An Aria , CAT kind of like aria's take on squire/Epi. For the best part of 400 quid i was disgusted but my first bass was one of these in red - and it has lived in a cupboard sans case for years. This beast is a ply bodied heavy and passive but had a pretty decent neck even after all this time it feels comfy in my hands. refinished horribly away from the stock sparkle red by myself with some car body spray to a horrific purple. (i was 17 and it seemed dead cool .) Right now its in the process of getting a new lease of life courtesy of some nitro-mors and elbow grease. From this ( sorry about the pics i didnt think i'd actually be sharing them ... just documenting stripping it for my sake to this Refinish Im aiming for is inspired by this http://s101.photobucket.com/user/atinder/media/creston2_zps61fa63fe.jpg.html
8. It most certainly is , its taken pride of place in on my fave stand and my eyes wander far too often possibly the most handsome bass I've ever laid my eyes on. its gone of for a bit of spa treatment to Charlie Chandler's a moderately famed Luthier who i'm fortunate lives nearby. for a bit of TLC , the action was a little low for my taste and rather than tinkering it myself i thought i'd treat it to a full setup as she deserves a nice a party frock for the gig on Friday. Do you have a feedback thread on here.
9. If i have bought from you or sold to you , I would appreciate if you left some honest feedback. thanks in advance. Synth
10. I bought a lovely trace cab from this gent - He's easy to deal with , the item was exactly as described and well packaged against the woes of delivery drivers. He's also excellent, communication wise and providing tracking details the moment he had shipped the item so i could watch the delivery driver struggle to move the item. Dealing with him has been a breeze .Deal with him in confidence and i would certainly use again.
11. So some of you may be familiar with this story of mine -- http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 tldr explaination - i didn't buy anything ... and my birthday passed quietly with me treating myself to a nice Trace expansion cab off these very forums , from - sbrag This arrived today , while i was out at work and then rehearsal so i don't get home till 11 . I was met at the door to help unload stuff from the car by my better half and I headed into the living room ready to savage the delivery box, behind was a suspicious black hiscox hardcase . I pick it up and its heavy .... inside is http://basschat.co.u...-4-string-bass/ The original sale photo's will have to make do until i take some of my own It seems my incredibly brilliant other half has essentially bought me the perfect bass - Im in love with it, sounds great , looks amazing and feels like a cross between a T-bird and P with enough tonal variance to emulate anything i want. I'd been Gas'ing over the status but was put off by the distance it would come and the fact i'd never even seen a status before . Thanks to Matski for selling / talking to my partner about the bass and to sbrag for selling me the extra trace cab that its going to ... RUIN signed... one very happy/spoiled bass-chatter synth

13. Killer tone there , whats that bird going into . Free bump while i stave of the desire to upgrade from my EPI.
14. That's one of the later magnums a III or IV ,the I and II are the less "conventional looking ones". A few years ago i considering buying one in the grey/ silverburst finish off bassworld forums that may have been the pre-incarnation of this very forums or perhaps just had a simmilar crazykiwi moderator :-P god knows. How much was it for interest sake.

19. I'm in the good books at the moment , for her/our anniversary new smart phone that she had wanted for ages, and on her getting older day i fixed up a Corsa for her so she no longer had to share my crappy 307 when i'm not driving to work. Unless anyone has a telebass inside my budget maybe i hold off and bank the gifts
20. Ha ha , technically the T-bird was my 18th birthday present from my folks. I'd been borrowing an old aria copy from a neighbor after my move from saxophone. My dad hadn't intended to spend that much i believe that he saw my face after i'd tried the other lower end stuff in flying pig in Ealing ( I miss this place) If i tell ya the bass is Korean and from the Unsung factory you could always try to figure out my age like counting holes in a tree.
21. I'm getting towards my first landmark age and as a result on Sunday the long suffering "yet most enthusiastic I've ever seen her" better half and I took a trip to guitar guitar in Epsom , "supposedly the UK's largest guitar store" - My wonderful partner has green-lit any bass under 1500 quid , So in i went starry eyed like a child in a sweet shop intending to fall in love with something and trying all-sorts of nicer than i'd ever considered getting my claws on basses. I was in full GAS overload .. but faced with the truth that i could actually get one of the things I've dreamed of I didn't know what to do . I tried a couple of nice US fenders including a rather odd "rascal ". A MIJ Aerodyne , a second hand bright orange Ray, A brand new sunburst ray (overspend), A lake-land jazz. The only thing I didn't want to try was a real t-bird I love mine and it doesn't deserve to be replaced. I didn't fall love with any of them they felt excellent both well made and sounded great I enjoyed the experience and the wonderful amp i was using . I just didn't fall in love with any of them - Am I expecting too much am i approaching this wrong ? Am i being a spoiled brat quite possibly or was i just completely overwhelmed with the experience and need to step back and look at this in the cold light of day. Or do i just have to wait for the lightning to strike again ?
22. I was sorely tempted to try that jazz out I have an old Aria CAT who's body is most probably MDF that would have donated its neck good job someone already bought it one of you lot ?
23. I've bought one of these to move my trace elliot smc 7215 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001GU6FYI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 Great price folds down nicely VERY WELL made and with a bungee does the job a treat
24. o.O that bass face fully going for it there ...
25. Don't fancy a trade for an Akai unibass mint in box do you , I'd been put off posting it in the for sale section because someone else is trying to sell one and it seemed a touch rude .
