1. I've followed them since 1983, and they have lost me with this hopelessly self indulgent piece of junk I don't care that they put it on my iphone, but I am very glad I didn't have to pay to find out what it's like
2. Loads of youtube tutorials but basically get a stiff kitchen knife (use the top side, not the actual blade) or a trem bar, steel ruler or the like and rub it on the edge of the board between the frets until it loses it's sharp edge. Repeat for each fret, top and bottom of board. Soften the edges off with some fine wire wool. No need to fiddle with fret filing if you just soften the wooden edge a little.
3. Why don't you roll them yourself? It's really simple Thanks to Eddiehoffman and raslee for the tip about 70s p soundalike
4. I deleted it also. Not one of their finest efforts
5. I'm really impressed that everyone likes their pickups, and no one seems to feel the need to change them. I'd still love to know what they are, if they really are that good
6. Still has the film on the plastic cavity plates
7. I bought it - it's s millennium not a cirrus as the link suggested - but totally mint
8. People do seem very satisfied with the pickups; and consensus on that is most unusual around here. I'd like to know the answer to this also, and can any one tell me where he gets his red tort ? Thanks
9.
I always thought they meant they'd hang on to the item or that it was on it's way to ebay.
Yep
10. Looks mint- will try it and move it on if it doesn't suit
11. Good price then
12. I will have to go back tmrw and inspect in more detail - chap offered to set up an amp for me
13. This one http://www.gak.co.uk/en/peavey-cirrus-bxp-5-string-quilt-top-tiger-eye/51256 They are asking £219 but I'm in a cheeky mood Opinions on these, folks ?
14. Pmt have them up at £439
15.
Indeed. And I'm sure Apple spent a few $m getting a firm legal opinion about the whole exercise as well as the $100m for Bonio and pals.
They don't need an opinion - it's perfectly simple legally. Basic contract law, year one. If there are terms that are applicable and made available, you should read them and cannot rely on ignorance of them or their implications.
16. But I want a bxp, not an ugly cirrus
17. He is technically correct . It is in the EULA that you agreed to (whether or not you read the terms, it's not up to apple to make you read or understand them, the law assumes that you are bound by them in either case and allows you to choose to read in detail or not). They freely tell you how to stop it happening and how to remove it once it has happened so it never happens again. Both procedures are easy to accomplish. I'm not saying that it was a sensible decision on their part, just that you agreed they could do it.
18. Seen a mint peavey bxp actuve five string in the nice tiger flame finish - fairly rare onMarket place Any thoughts what I should offer ?
19.
I hear you but the principal is what we are worth goes to charity, I would not play their club for free just because they want a band for the night for example, the idea here is lets say our little trio is worth £150 minimum so that goes to the guide dogs and we have a fun gig, but that wont work if the members dont want to pay for a ticket will it, its not like we will just be playing for free if there was no charity event is it?
\the members are clearly that - a bunch of "members". Utterly mean. I wouldnt object to paying extra for a purely charity gig (If the house was taking the profit, I would object because it would be part of the package)
20. Enlighten us ?
21.
Sorry to hear your tutor is moving away .... and that this is happening twice! If he is good - stick with him for the moment anyway You can learn a lot in 6 months - it's all good practice anyway, I'd say.... At least you will be more likely to recognise a good tutor, or one that suits your learning by the time you need to find another one (if indeed you do need another)
Yep totally agree
22. • jealous •
23. sounds like a good idea, wish I had such a resource near me
24.
I quit in 1964 right after my first go on a ciggy and coughing my lungs up. I couldn't see the point in it. Still can't.
Me too. Apart from the 1964 bit
