1. Good price
2. Surely not a coincidence that this happens when edge and bonio join fenders board but he has had a fender sig before - a master built sparkly gold precision That one reminds me of the Sherwood green jazz he played on the NYD video and also the vertigo tour-read that he swaps rosewood necks for maple as it's easier to see the dots on maple apparently
3.
I bought B/cer Cayston's Montreux Celluloid tortoise shell pickguard on here, great bit of tort -I'm finally happy with the looks now
Wonder where he got it
4. Matte_black from this forum makes very fine split cool noiseless pickups to order. Try him perhaps Make sure you quote the sizes to him if you do order
5. Where did you get the nice tort ?
6. I have played both - i liked the rolled FB edges on the STD. You also get a nice case. I'd pay the little extra for a used (ie fettled) US P over the Special. The Special feels fine, and if youre on a tight budget it will do nicely.
7. Sounds ok then - must be a fault on the stock pickups as mine was perfectly behaved with stock pups. Could be your house wiring making if worse
8. Did you use copper foil with electrically conductive glue ? Use a multimeter to check - mine had only 0.008 ohm resistance between jack socket and furthest point away You probably have a break somewhere Thought : you did join the shielding to earth right ? You can curl some up under the bell plate
9. I've had one from that year and it was silent once copper shielded
10. An absolute steal at that price
11. I regret starting this thread now
12. I used fret-tester for the iPhone Not saying I can sight read but I don't need tab as much as I thought
13. Stanley knife blade at an angle - carefully Then lemon oil
14. Was in Florida earlier this year with time to kill in evenings so started learning bass clef, haven't touched it since or practiced. Surprised myself by being able to read the dots for Xmas wrapping by the waitresses in A without too much trouble - including rhythms It's not that hard folks, if I can do it.
15.
Thanks y'all! I've also heard that about lemon oil and have avoided it for a while too, agreed - this is the problem that I've also come across before (not a lot of facts). I'm going to give the stuff I've got a go for a while as I found some of the cleaners I used before gave me itchy fingers and left some crap on my fretboard too, but good call on the brasso! Off topic - TheSiberian, what's the music scene like in Luxembourg? Are there many good venues there to check out?
Use a fret mask or masking tape to protect the board tho
16. Sold one just like it to slackAlice a few weeks back
17. Ooh too pretty for words, you are clearly an evil person to show such nice things in public like this
18. Is that agave blue ? Commendably large number of pics though
19. Quite quite lovely Keeping wallet firmly in pocket though
20. I just used a metal fret mask (off evilbay) and some brasso, and 20 year old brass frets came up like new T cut scratch remover for the body and lemon oil on the board Cheap and effective
21. I had a MIK version and it was just fine - at least as good as the German made corvette that I owned
22. Re with or without you, it's what works. He does play some variations in the live version
23. Coldplay / clocks ?
