1. What's really ticking me off is sellers who are actually in china pretending to be shipping from within the uk
2. Complain to eBay and neg them
3. I've never actually gigged but I did have lessons and my teacher (quickly) showed me the bones of stand by me and then made me play it straight away whilst he played telecaster. Deep. end Nerve racking, magical, transporting. He told me after: "you're quite a lot better than you think"
4. I like #3 too
5.
I read somewhere about someone sending a bolt on necked bass in 2 parts. Seems like a good idea, especially if there's no hard case. You could detach the neck, and really go to town with bubble wrap, use a large, deep, rectangular box.
Or two joined together - it worked really well for me
6.
Didn't someone suggest hanging Esther McVey? Or did I dream it? Either way it would be very wrong.
Yes it would - I have a few tasks in mind for her to achieve first
7.
Good idea... now what's the best place to get heavy nuts..? Ibiza..?
Good place to get empty nuts I believe I use the grabby Hercules ones with wooden mounts. The wall is thermobloc as it's internal and so I just used very long screws (7cm or so) driven straight into the wall using a power screwdriver so they're tight. They're not shifting and the hangers are easily strong enough for the items you see in my sig
8.
I've use Parcelforce to ship a bass without any problems before. It cost about £20 insured. I sent it in a bass box, wrapped in bubble wrap with particular attention paid to supporting the neck and the headstock. I also put a layer of bubble wrap and cardboard between the strings and the fretboard to try and avoid damaging the frets.
I have - they totally screwed my prosebass - the box looked like it had been machine gunned and they managed to smash the nut off despite it being more heavily packed then you describe Not their fault of course so no payout ...
9. I bought "stunt" otherwise I know little
10. Chatter or not, neg him if he is being a tw@t
11.
Leaving stinking negative feedback is the most you can do
And report them as a non performing seller
12. With or without fender decal?
13. That's truly horrible - you should sell it to me for £7
14. hi all got one of these spare, using one in my own P bass New and in OE packaging - £9 posted to your door ? please PM as I don't seem to get all emails thanks
15. Ok - I didn't appreciate the distinction other than in terms of being hard wearing or not. My p bass body is painted in nitro but I want to fake 70s wear as that's what its supposed to be approximate replica of. I think a best of breed wear pattern is good enough for my tastes I am thinking about how to mimic the paint dings - steel ruler, perhaps, for the wider ones and the pointy end of a pin hammer for the small ones Still at a loss about how to age chrome. Any suggestions?
16. Sure - I realise the heel might be a bit overdone but it's not that far from the 69 jazz above
17. Doesn't the 69 above has this same wear in the neck pocket ?
18. See this eBay listing 111410948590 Do ppl think this looks realistic ?
19. I'm with you - just play it
