1. Looking forward to hearing it when you post up the sounds. Very tempted to follow suit. Sold my fretless earlier this year and miss that sound! Love the sound of MM but they are too heavy. RA are beautiful but not an option. Wal - in my dreams...though would like to try a fretless Wal to see what they are like.
2. Lovely bass. How does it compare with the Rob Allen?
3. +1 on Matt Freeman Sig Precision.
4. Madness - The Liberty of Norton Folgate. Lovely quote on the sticker on the cd sums it up more eloquently than I could: 'Norton Folgate is Peter Ackroyd writing for The Kinks, it's Sherlock Holmes in Albert Square, it's a Mike Leigh movie of Parklife, it's Passport to Pimlico meets Brick Lane and it's Madness's masterpiece.' THE WORD
5. These are superb basses. I got mine as a back up to my Rick. I have sold my Rick and the Squier is now my sole bass.
6. I like it too. I shouldn't but I do. Mrs RLP doesn't. She doesn't like the shape of any bass.
7. Matt Freeman Squier P Bass with Chromes.
8. I bought my favourite pick from the instrument shop in Stamford. Then had a really nice food in Cafe Black. On holiday. Went to visit Isaac Newton's house.
9. Hi Hank Is this still available? If so - how much does it weigh? Cheers Mr RLP
10. These are superb basses. Really well made. I bought it as backup bass for my Rick and I play this now as my sole bass. Selling the Rick as I don't use it.
11. They are very tolerant of me going in and trying out basses.
12. Like a lot of Bowie's good songs - strange at first - then I can't get it out of my head. "I'm a blackstar - I'm a star star",
13. A brick from the Cavern Club. A signed Watford programme by Elton John.
14. I saved up for and bought the mono box set so I could hear what I remember The Beatles sounding like when I was a child. Also I wanted to listen to them on my headphones and some of the 1980s stereo mixes I found difficult on the ears - 'Rubber Soul' for example. The more recent stereo cds were more sympathetic.I bought 'Rubber Soul' to compare and it was much easier to listen to. I like the idea of Giles Martin creating a stereo mix that is nearer mono and can possibly capture the best of both the intended mono mix (overseen by the band after recording) and the stereo mixes (often carried out weeks/months later without the band). Should get rid of the 'dead central spaces' on some of the 80s stereo versions when listening on headphones.
