5. There was a guy on here selling custom built wiring looms - can't remember his name Can anyone help?
6. Macca story My big sis Rosie was a mahousive Beatles fan and thought Macca was the business Turns out she meets him much later in life at some London gallery she was running So I phoned her and asked.....what's he like then?....."he's very small" quoth she "HE'S VERY TALL WHEN HE'S STANDING ON HIS MONEY" .....shouts Rosie's partner - loud enough for the whole street to hear
7. Don't stress about making a cock up - only other bass players will notice Think of it this way.....if you're the singer and you forget your words everyone notices As a bass player, if you lose, your way, you can stop playing/play root notes for a bit and no-one will notice And it's good to be a bit nervous
8. Cool bass......defo on the "must get one of those someday" list....sadly no ackers at the moment GLWTS
9. SWR 4x8 cab 250 watt 8 ohm Tweeter Has a dial on the back to control treble response Also ported at the back In decent nick, some wear to the carpet but nothing serious More info at Swramps.com Collection preferred as it's fairly heavy Would meet within 30 miles of Nottingham
10. It's in Wrexham dudes......read the post in full already!
11. Sad news, Jack's bass lines and vocals were a huge influence on me in my teens. The way he filled under Eric's lead work in Cream to keep the sound big when EC wasn't playing chords stands as a master class in bass playing in a trio imho. R.I.P. Jack ...hope he's now in a better place.....in a white room with no curtains perhaps
12. Neotech Bass strap This is brand new - bought from USA. VERY comfortable strap - but it does position your guitar high up on your body which doesn't suit me I guess I could add an extension on the end but would prefer to move it on as is. very well made, the leather strap ends are made of thick leather which take some effort to get over the strap buttons price includes postage

14. I have the junior model to this one - think it's the FJ-6 Fantastic bass, really well made and great tone - as good if not better than some of the USA Fenders I've had / played
15.
SWR Workingman's 10 would be a great buy if you can find one. Can be had for £120ish and are awesome! 10" combo, plenty of volume and suitable for small gigs. DI out too so can go into the PA for larger gigs.
+1 I also have an SWR 4x8 extension cab - the combo sits on top perfick, and the sound is awesome
16. "Interested? Hit us up" Made me want to hit them, still I am an old fart
17. The jim Dunlop just has a big H (for heavy) on it
18. I use a dunlop thick jobbie.....not sure of the gauge and can't be arsed to go upstairs snd check. Also tried gypsy jazz wooden picks (great big thick things, real nice to hold). Great attack, but they "click" on the strings which is annoying (wouldn't be at gig vol) I've got a couple of spares if anyone wants one (as in FREE) to try
