1.
it's less taxonomy and more aesthetics for me.
Thanks mate. I'm thinking I should keep it really and balance my books some other way. I become slightly lachrymose every time I look at this thread.
 2. £350 is a bargain for one of these, they are fairly rare, also, this is a beautiful example. I would simply get a replacement neck from Warwick. Good luck Old S. I feel sure someone will have it.
 3.
if i were in the market for a $$ (which as i bought project c's a few weeks back, i'm not), then it would.
Thanks for being honest ahpook, appreciated. Is it the species or fish in general? Or is bass jewellery simply a no no?
 4.
I reckon a tench would make it look classier, perch are soooo last friday
Ah, I love tench, I had my first a few months ago, a lovely three and a half male. That was a really happy day as I'd been after one, came at the end of the day, my only one.
 5. Be honest, would the fish (it's a perch, my favourite of the British freshwater fish ) put you off this bass?
 6.
I was hoping to hang onto this bass for a while longer, but my amp bag was nicked from my car last night which has left a large hole in my pre-Xmas finances. Eden WTX500, Radial Tonebone, Zoom H2 recorder, etc. etc. All gone.
That's awful, Jack, really sorry to hear it.
 7.
Hey silddx, Really confused by your comment. Are you saying he was in a band called Flea's or is the comment aimed at me as I was in a band called The Fleas. Just a bit confused
Oh crikey! Sorry! It was aimed at Derek Forbes, I recently read an interview with him and he said he could hear himself in Flea's (RHCP) playing and that Flea must have been influenced by him. It sounded a bit conceited to me. In fact most of the interview was a bit like that. I'll delete that post, I hope you have a great time interviewing him! Sorry mate.
 8.
What do you mean by 'HDSQ's'? I'm crap with acronyms-only just sussed what 'LOL' means.
Sorry, Hemi Demi Semi Quavers. They are miniscule tiny little corn snacks.
 9. People who say picks are cheating are speaking with their anusol.
 10.
Damp the strings with the side of your palm and pick with the side of your thumb. Works for me
I'm aware of the technique, but how fast can you do it? I can't do HDSQs with that technique, but I can with a pick, not that I do HDSQs very often of course
 11.
but bass played with a pick has to be doing something amazing before i'm interested.
Check out Scott Thunes then. '63 Precision, Boss chorus pedal, pick. Zappa. Amazing. I use what's appropriate, which is fingers 95% of the time. Damped pick tone is almost impossible with fingers though.
 12. Thanks very much, Nik. If you look at my feedback thread, you'll see why I need to sell I really thought I would NEVER sell this one, but I need to balance the books. I feel pretty down about it, but I have just bought an amazing Wilkins Jazz from bobpalt, and a Steinberger doubleneck from sixshooter which I totally need for Kit's band. I'll almost certainly get another one at some point, they are fantastic basses, but I'm so fickle and couldn't resist the Wilkins Jazz. BTW, I fly in the face of the BC Marketplace regs on this, feel free to discuss price
 13.
Fish.......................more scales. I like that nearly as much as the bass.
thank you !
 14. Warwick Corvette $$ 2006 Black High Polish & Black Hardware TRADE for Mackie SRM v2 Powered Monitors (single or pair) With the original Warwick Premium RockBag and full user kit, including wax, strap locks, truss rod key, cloth etc. Everything working perfectly. This is a fantastic bass, plays like butter, incredibly fast neck, amazing variety of superb tones. This has been my main bass for a couple of years and has been totally reliable and a joy to play. Currently strung with DR Handmade Black Beauties 45-105. Issues: *One small scratch to the finish under the lower horn (pic shown). *Usual Just-A-Nut II side tabs missing. This doesn't present a problem, happens all the time, poor design. *It has some jewellery attached, tiny cat on the headstock, antique fish brooch on the body, hey you get to play more scales. Ovangkol Neck - smooth, lovely and tactile, and very fast. Wenge Fingerboard - like a gorgeous slab of dark chocolate. Bell Brass Frets - 24 beautifully finished. Action at 12th 2mm Action at 24th 3mm US Swamp Ash Body Scale length: 34" (long scale) Passive MEC MM-Style humbuckers Active MEC 2-way electronics Two 3-way mini-switches for separate configuration of the humbuckers (serial / parallel / single-coil) Pull-for-passive volume control Reasonably average weight, I think about 9lbs, but I don't notice the weight at all, even on long sets, the balance is perfect. £625 + shipping for this. Or you can collect from me in West London. The gallery reckon £750 but they'll take 15% commission. Cheers, Nigel
 15.
Not far, it's round the corner from the Corn Exchange. Five minute walk from the station.
Super, thanks.
 16. I'm in Leeds oat the Weekend, if I get time I'll see if I can nip into MG. Is it near the railway station?
 17.
they do look even better when there's more than one, that's for sure
Holy Jesus!
 18.
Thats good - just remember to make sure it fits before you take the packaging off
I know, I know !
 19. Late last night I ordered a pearl white Jazz pickguard from http://www.wdmusic.co.uk I received a very nice email from Ben this morning profusely apologising that it was not in stock and the website was in error showing it as in stock. I was offered an immediate refund rather than wait four weeks, or I could replace it with a nicer aged version which is what I did. Ben is rushing it out to me and I should get it tomorrow. He sent me a large image of it too, to show me the difference. Given the bad experience I had with a PG from another shop in Bristol recently, the customer service from WD has been totally refreshing, this is what will keep me coming back. Cheers, Ben
 20. I can confirm this is a gorgeous bass, and the Demeter pre is totally lush. I am delighted to say it is now MINE! Also delighted to have had dealings with Bob who is an absolute gentleman. Thanks Bob.
 21. I just bought Bob's Wilkins Jazz, a total Fender-killer in every way. Bob's been incredibly kind and trusting. He sent me the bass to try for a few days, since it's quite expensive and from a relatively unknown maker. The bass is truly lovely and we concluded the deal this morning, it could not have been smoother. Bob is brilliant to deal with, honest and open with great communication. Bob, thanks mate
 22.
That is a great piece of kit Chris.....is it a keeper?
Chris? Keeper?
 23.
awesome carpet mate
Believe me, the bass will be awesome too, pity it has that extra string
 24.
Only had one Precision before and that was a 70s Fretless ( in the 80s I owned it ) never really fancied one again- but I do now!! Fantastic Bass= looks much too good to be 35 yrs old- mojo!! Bob
That's 45 dear boy
 25. Today Parcel Force managed to put two major cracks in a hardshell case I sent a bass in, luckily no damage to the bass, but they must have thrown it across a room to do that. Arseholes. Got to claim for it now.
