Ahh, brilliant! I really should have played it while I was in there, all the others I tried were pretty bad. It was the £2,950 price tag that put me off trying what is now yours Great story! Congratulations Chris.
Oh, right.. I read it as meaning £1799 more that what he thought it was worth. In that case, that's bloomin' cheap for a '72J from Music Ground. What's the catch?
Wayne is so excited he neglected his punctuation I have amended the offending sentence below. Hands down the best bass I've ever played. If I decide to buy it, is £1,799 too much? If I took pics could anyone authenticate it for me ?

I just sold Baboom my 1996 Fender 62 RI MIJ Precision. Tim is a total gentleman and an absolute pleasure to deal with, from start to finish. Paid by bank transfer after coming to a very fast decision. He even tried to give me more money for the extra cost I incurred for insuring the shipping, naturally I wouldn't take it but it was a lovely gesture. Hope we can have a malt or a beer together sometime, Tim! All the best, Nigel

Cor, thanks Tim, I'm so happy you love that bass, musicman20 will be pleased aswell as it was his first decent bass too when he bought it new. The Jazz is fantastic! As is the Steinberger double neck I got yesterday Thanks again mate, I'll start a feedback thread for you now. Cheers, Nigel
What's the going rate for giving a blank raw-wood body into a luthier and getting a finish put onto it? Got quoted £200 but that seems a little steep to what I had in mind. It may not be though, that's why I'm asking!
That's about right, actually cheaper. Do it yourself for fifteen quid. I got very good results http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;hl=plastikote

Steve is a diamond to deal with. I played his 59 Precision this evening while picking up a wonderful Steinberger double neck which I'm absolutely delighted with! If you've ever wanted a living, breathing amazing Fender Precision which is like your favourite tree in in your favourite Victorian park, you've found one! This '59 is stunning! It plays so smoothly, the tone is deep and growly and with so much bite on tap, even with the flats he has on it. It's a Motown Reggae monster! He's a lovely bloke and you'll have no issues doing business with him. I played one of his amazing Strats too, it is by far the nicest Strat I have played and I was a bit of a Strat head until recently. Steve knows what he's talking about, his knowledge is DEEP. Cheers Steve, great to meet you
Haven't rated Angling Times for a while now. Much prefer Improve your Coarse Fishing and similar titles. Lots more to read whilst idling time away waiting for the next big bite.
It's essentially the Daily Mail for anglers. I cancelled my subs after a while. A lot of the readership are pretty Daily Mail too, lots of anti-Eastern European crap going on. I've given up on the periodical stuff. I only read Chris Yates and Richard Walker these days.

She's a beauty, but I need a Jazz, indeed, I have one coming on Monday! This P is in near mint condition, just a few small and hard to see marks on the body and headstock, no buckle rash, near mint. There are no issues with this bass at all. Sounds thumpy and is a lively responsive bass with rounds on, deep and trad with flats. It's quite high output, keeps up with my Warwicks actually. Very, very nice to play, the neck is beautiful and the fret ends are nicely rolled and smooth. Medium/low action. The neck and headstock are a nice rich honey colour, as they should be. Stays in tune perfectly. Owned from new by MusicMan20 and sold to me a couple of months ago. It's all original apart from the Switchcraft jack. I added the trays, thumbrest and the dark tort PG, all original USA Fender parts. Comes with hard case and the original red tort pickguard. £400 plus delivery. Or you may collect from me in Ealing, west London. Sorry, no trades, just cash, I'm funding other planned acquisitions Cheers, Nigel
