1.
Welcome back to music.
I think that's the quote of the thread. In all seriousness, the mere thought of listening to Alain Caron for 50mins has made my penis shrivel.
 2.
Use anything u like that I posted in the photo thread, although they are probably all rather blurry and plop due to my massive deficit of talent in that area....
Likewise Nik, although mine aren't great either!
 3.
Go on Wayne!! give in! Join the dark side!
Yes, come on mate, it is GREEN after all.
 4.
Me GASing for a Warwick? WTF?
Hope you're not going to blame me
 5.
I wouldn't be too hard on yourself over that nut break... they all do it! It's a pretty well documented problem area for that particular version of the adjust-a-nut. Replacements are readily available and owners often just live with the little break (as it doesn't affect much, unless you play with your hand/fingers gripping the nut ) or when fitting a replacement they are sometimes fitted with the latter system.
Yip, same on mine. JAN2 is a rubbish bit of design, but you can buy a JAN3 and glue that on.
 6. It could be like a rubber band on a box of matches. But for £50 maybe it's worth a crack? I remember getting a new Mazeti Eagle guitar once for about £70. It was, without reservation, utterly f***ing despicable. I sent it back and they were very gracious with a full refund including my return postage costs.
 7.
Thank God I'm not the only person who does this! (Not the floor trick, mind!) For those of you unfamilliar with this sensation, think back to when you were a kid and wedged your head between the headrests of the pair of seats in front of you on a coach. (Don't tell me that only Silddx and I did this...!)
On a more serious note, do check the headstock vibration, it tells you a lot about tone transfer through the whole instrument.
 8.
Every Japanese Fender I've laid my hands on seemed to have a nice vibe to them, that little something you just can't explain. If you get the chance to go through a batch of Squiers there will also be one out there that also feels just right. Then, as others before have said, it's a case of upgrading the hardware. (Had a guitar shop once, hence have seen a few).
Me too, I got MM20's MIJ 62 P which is lovely, I had a MIJ Squier Silver Series Jazz, also lovely, I have a MIJ Squier Silver Series Telecaster guitar right now which has a glorious tone. I had MIJ Fender Strat which I so regret selling. On thing, which I think Alex Claber might agree with, is to get one that's got a good unplugged tone. What I do too is play while resting my chin (teeth together) on the top of the upper horn, that will tell you loads about the inherent tone. Then stand the instrument on the floor, neck pointing upward, and put your chin on the face or side of the headstock, teeth closed of course, there should be a good level of tone and vibration coming through there too, almost as much as the body.
 9.
I would like one of these, a Warwick Streamer, However, I doubt I could afford it so I may put this on my list, a Warwick Corvette, However, I probably won't like it if I get one but I think they look nice and I won't be able to kill the GAS until I get one
Believe me, you will almost certainly like the 'vette STD. My personal feeling is they look much nicer than the Streamer. Don't let them skinny little pups fool you either, they can cause earthquakes and flappy trousers. They can out-thump a Precision with the right set up. My new 2009 active 'vette STD fretless in honey stain was £671 on Thomann which is a very good price, plain waxed unstained body should be even cheaper. The ebony fingerboard on mine is particularly lovely.
 10. This is why I started ..
 11.
Well this arrived Saturday. The bursts weren’t available in the U.S. until recently, only hot rod red and boring black. Now waiting for my TI Jazz flats and Hipshot A bridge to arrive, and maybe (probably) a pickup upgrade too. MM
Very nice! I like to know the secret of getting it inside that case
 12.
Nigel on stage, 2010
What the f*** happened to his face??! That surely can't just be the aging process.
 13. I'm in great need of one of these. I actually NEED one, can you believe that? They aren't expensive but I can not find one for sale anywhere.
 14.
And I should add that my use of the word 'fretline' is entirely incorrect as it is an unlined neck, what I meant was 'where the fretlines would be'
Madness. Totally crackers.
 15.
Hey mate, agreed, I have three unlined necks which I love but need a lined neck to cut down the potential cock ups in an upcoming recording project - we're recording live so I don't want to be the guy who messes up an otherwise great performance. I some respects I'm wimping out but I think it's the safest bet
Can't say I blame you What's the name of your band? I'm probably the only bugger on here that doesn't know.
 16. Ok, she's on the bay at £399. I'll take £360 from a BCer though if you collect, add £15 if you want it on yer doorstep. Cheers, Nigel http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRS-SE-Custom-Semi-H...=item4ceba9773c
 17. I always found that really daft too. But I like an unlined neck so it's not a big issue for me.
 18. Damn U - Prince
 19. BC truly represents the potential of the internet forum to bring people together. It's a wonderful place to be, and I really need to limit it to my evening browsing. I've tried to stop myself coming here while I'm at work, but I find it impossible. There should be laws regulating this sh*t, it is having a negative impact on my work! I love it here, the water is lovely
 20. You mean a mixer. Tons of cheap stuff out there. A lot of amps and POD type unit allow this functionality now, so do phrase trainers.
 21.
No its a CIJ in vintage white with us pickups a thumb rest and bridge cover. I imported it directly from Japan when the interest rates were better. I decided that I prefer precisions to all other basses, and im going to have 1 on the top of my coffin when the time comes Its affectionately known as the white one to identify it from the red one or the brown one. another Nigel
Hello Nigel It looks really old, I amazed it's that recent! Nice idea for the old box! Cheers. N
 22.
Snap, great colour combination
That's lovely! Is it vintage? certainly looks it. Mine is called Eva, what's yours called?
 23.
I think this kid is amazing.
That is wickid! Beautiful sounding snare, the whole kit sounds ace though. Great player, I love that style. Kinda reminds me of this, which has been a favourite of mine for quite a while ..
 24. Beggars belief mate, it really does. Why can't these people wake up?!
 25. Cheers Gareth, just popped over to your gear page and couldn't find my way out
It would look even better if the bass was sunburst I'm really going to have to get a brown tort guard for mine now. Not sure where I'll buy it though...
You could try Reliable Fender, otherwise known as The Stratosphere, they're on ebay, and based in the States. I've used them a lot in the past, they do stuff cheaper than Fender, lots of Jap gear. Their service is excellent.
