What a wonderful evening with a lovely audience! For a place that's quite hard to find it was packed! Great FOH sound as well. First outing for my Wilkins Jazz, I'm thinking it's probably a keeper, great tone and lovely to play.
You mean like this?
Precisely! Looks like a limited edition box of Kellogg's Cornflakes and I wouldn't be seen dead with it.

I hate custom graphics on a bass, particularly airbrush jobs of lions, big titty ladies, lightning bolts, Maori symbols, etc. I think they look puerile and totally naff, like drawing your favourite band logos all over your school books. I can talk, I sometimes add jewellery to my basses, usually antique fish brooches. What do you find naff?
In the nicest possible way - we are providing this forum for free and it's probably the best place there is for selling it to someone honest that will not cause you problems, I think it's a bit grumpy to complain when a simple rule is introduced for the general benefit of the community. It's a topic that's been mentioned for months and months, has been reviewed and general consensus taken into account.
Absolutely agree. I won't take part in a "PM offers" type sale. Price up front is the only way for me.

I'd think about getting an active Hohner Jack Bass, or even a cricket bat. I've had huge dub tones from the Jack I had, amazing for the money, totally reliable, and I love the way they look. In fact I've seen a few reggae bassists using them over the years. I reckon you could get one for around £150 - £200 on the bay.
Hey everyone! Actually, I dont really like the covers but... here is my bass cover on "Voodoo chile" & "Power". Enjoy and feel free to reply.
I hate to criticise you brother, because what you have done is technically excellent and very, very difficult, and you did it with soul. However, for me, it's not really in the pocket enough to be truly musical. It's not far off, but I think you rushed it. I think if you slow it down and play with the most basic "Boom Tish" drums and really feel where the pulse is, you'll be totally on it as you gradually increase the speed back up to where it belongs. I just think you need to relax a bit and feel the pulse. Bloody amazing though, congratulations!
Yeah I'm impressed with it. Quite a high output and nice and punchy. I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting a lot from it, I just hoped it would be better than the toy pickup the bass came with, it is, and it's great. I'll reserve the final judgement for after I've at least rehearsed with it in the band. The EMG-35HZ is a passive pickup FYI.
Brilliant, thanks. Yes, passive is what I'm after. Cheers.
