  1. I think Orange had issues with the amps blowing and returns. The solid amps carried on working. If they have basically bombproofed the amp then it will sell very well. The clean switch was a great idea, as was super light 1x12s for £399.
  2. I don't understand why in 2018 they can't fit a pickup straight?
  3. That wonky pickup is terrible!!!
  4. Sounds like their typical QC which is a shame. I'm glad you've noticed it asap. I've just sent back a Gibson guitar and I have to say it's the same with Gibson; hold onto a good one when you get it!

I agree. That grindy tone is alright but to be honest it just sounds like a detuned guitar. I think it's the current wave of metal though... The problem is, eventually it just all sound like one thing blended together in a buzz saw noise of grind. Converge do it much better; the guitar is still clear and the bass is a P bass with that classic tube pushed sound, nothing more.

I can't keep up. How many bass drive pedals can they make?!
  7. I think we might see more of this 'direct' business model. Andertons, Guitar Guitar and PMT have joined forces to promote and sell G&L in the UK now, and at a much lower price. Middlemen/women/people dealers are not required.
  8. I'm probably going to get one in a few months - I was always impressed with the original one.
  9. Bass Terror now has a clean switch. Yes!
  10. https://orangeamps.com/uncategorized/sergio-from-deftones-and-quicksand-discusses-the-terror-bass/ https://orangeamps.com/news/orange-amplification-introduce-the-obc112/
  11. ....and an OBC112. I might get a Bass Terror....I miss my AD200.
  12. That works really well. I've never once played a Status but I would love to try one.
  13. ...and cheaper?! Thomann have a huge buying power as well....so you will probably get the bass quicker and cheaper hahaha!
  14. @Ruiner Good decision.
  15. I'd go for a Genzler or a Quilter in the current market.
  16. Personally, whilst a H is damn fine bass, if you have the option of a HH with a little wait, you might appreciate it once it arrives. Plus, you can choose the colour etc you want without just picking up whatever stock is available. The HH does not really sound exactly like a J and a P....more like Musicman's own tones.
  17. @drTStingray - yes you have a fantastic example. I must admit in those photos the standard roasted maple does look good. The ebony board sets it off well.
  18. Ah, thankfully they haven't lost it completely. This is much more reasonable... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_VM4_Gold.html
  19. Despite the Brexit/£ issue, £3000?!
  20. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/180108320557002-1903874--sandberg-california-vm4-masterpiece-aged-3-tone-sunburs 3 grand.
  21. Guitar related - Boss Katana 100W combo.
  22. The oil and wax finish on the neck is, as we know, wonderful. I can't help but feel that figured maple would have justified the higher pricing. For example, the Musicman guitars in the same price bracket (approx) all have figured maple: https://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars
  23. Are these necks roasted but not figured?
  24. If you aren't happy, send it back. Which store mixed up the cases? Such a basic part of the service as well.
