1.
There's always room for just one more 😀
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
2. Nice! I have no more room for any more Musicmans, but that is a nice bass!
3.
Picking up my Helix LT this evening..... quite excited.... sad I know!
Make sure you update it immediately and watch a few tutorial vids....allow yourself a good weekend to get used to the initial use. I've not even started using it on bass yet!
4. I've learnt about snapshots and using my amp asa power amp over the past few days.
5.
Were the patches a success?
Yes thanks, and I spent a fair whilst learning it from scratch! Popped you an email back but as an update I've got used to using the IRs.
6.
I'm really interested in the helix LT, currently just have a zoom b3 for effects like fuzz / distortion / chorus and use the sansamp emulator for my standard tone into a tb500.. I'm curious to know how good the valve amp emulator sounds and also how good the fuzz and distortion is. Usually with digital fuzz effects you lose quality in comparison to say an analogue pedal. I *was* considering getting a sansamp and a couple of other pedals for live gigs but this looks like it can cover the lot! I also play through an AD200B (when my back feels up to it) and I wouldn't need any amp or cab emulation with that, just effects, but as much as I love it I'm considering selling this to fund a helix.
Whilst I will mainly use Helix for guitar, I sold my full Orange bass stack because of the size and weight. The amp sounded glorious but I didn't need it. A good quality solid state bass amp and lightweight cab, or indeed a powered cab, add Helix to those, done.
7. Stingray all the way. That tone is the best bass tone I've personally heard. But, I'm biased.
8. Nice work and good price.
9. I'll be trying this one!
10. Scrap what I said, I'm keeping it.
11. Whoever gave false info or couldn't stick to at least SOME sort of deadline at Peavey/Trace needs sacking.
12.
Didn't you have a horror story a few years back with a MM Classic order?
I wouldn't say horror, more disappointing. I eventually got a Classic 5 and it is perfect.
13. It arrived, but my friend brought his over for me to play on (latest updates with his tweaks). Whilst it does sound good, I don't know, I really like the tone of my amps and pedals, both guitar and bass related. I have no intention of selling any of them. So to me this is just another option which would possibly be used direct for bass, or into an amp for guitar, and it just seems too large for something like that. Going direct with bass, I use a Sansamp (which I LOVE) or similar. Much smaller and I can literally turn up to rehearsals or even gigs and just use that! Guitar is a bit different obviously. Quality is great but I'm not 100% sold on the concept. I like new technology but I like my individual pedals. EDIT - Now I've spent time and started from scratch I think this technology is superb. It is also the highest quality pedal I've ever bought in terms of construction and technology. Superb.
14. GuitarGuitar prices gone up to over £1400 for the Helix Floor over the last two hours. I asked their online help and they said that is the price they now are. Wonder who gets the additional money for the stock they already own?!
15.
Hahahaha that's two of us doing panic buys now 😂 Might be a good investment if these price hikes are permanent. The Fractal AX8 would be much more tempting if Line 6 stick with these prices #badmove. Can easily buy one in Thailand when I'm there next month for less than the big Helix.
I've looked at the Helix before, more so when the LT came out, but I was about to buy two of the new Boss pedals - RV500 and MD-500....both of which would set me back around £680....and realised that was a lot of money for two pedals. The Chase Bliss Delay (latest model) is £499!!!!!!! As the Helix is just about to have this crazy price hike, and I had a discount code, I thought I'd try one out. I've got a good setup for using the power sections of my amps....or going direct. Guitar wise, I can use my Katana amp which is getting positive feedback for using with the Helix. I'd like to try it straight into a practice room PA and see how I go....
16. OK - just jumped at a full fat Helix new from Richtone for under £1k before the prices go STUPID.
17. Yeah, sounds like the wrong case. If it concerns you, ring them or email them. I know it's minor, but these basses are £1400!+! I don't know why retailers don't keep a VERY quick and easy database of what is where when it comes to expensive guitars and their cases/documents etc. Did you get the new Pro case?
18. Those ESPs are by far the best aesthetically!
19. I can understand a small jump, say £60-80, but £400?!
20. Hmmm....that is an odd one. They seem to have been officially released in Jan 2017. A year is a bit much....does it definitely say 2015? Is the handwriting clear?
21. If you want to buy, buy now! £400 price hike at Andertons!
22. Yamaha have announced huge price hikes! £400 on the Helix!
23. Maybe a revised model?
24. I've recently picked up a superb Les Paul Tribute, USA built, genuine Gibson pickups etc, reveal binding, good quality Gibson padded bag, nice weight and a non-painted back (THANKFULLY!) for less than £600! Ok, it's not budget, but....it's a bargain.
