1.
Mark Arm is alive and well...
True!
2. Is Vedder the only major grunge frontman left? Scrap that, Billy Corgan....he is also very talented. Vedder is yet another example of a stunning voice. I often see the older Pearl Jam as much more sensible and clean cut compared to the other bands....I hope Vedder is looking after himself!
3.
Keep checking these. Is Hartke a good brand?
I'd say out of the sale, the LH500 is a steal! They make solid bass gear IMO...and the LH500 is a great amp. I used one for backline for a small your and it sounded great.
4. Hmmm....a 5 string Jazz, P/J Aguilar pickups, no pickguard, binding on the neck....dots....sunburst.....hmmmm
5.
Biggest shocking one since Kurt for me, my immediate circle of proper friends from school, college and uni etc are all massive fans, most of us passed our driving tests between around 1993-1995 so most journeys involved some sound garden, not crashing a car while air drumming to rusty cage is a skill in itself! In fact I think my friend might have crashed his Nissan micra through a hedge whilst enjoying some sound garden. Ah man
Aye....it literally is one of the key bands I got into at what...13 years old. Superunknown just hasn't aged....well it has but more like a fine wine! Kurt's passing was a big deal for me, as well as Tony Sly from a fantastic melodic punk band called No Use For A Name, and obviously Bowie...which was a HUGE shame. When people who you have looked up to die at a fairly young age, it is a real shock. It makes you realise how fast time passes and that those teenage years of being carefree are well and truly gone.
6. ....apparently he had only just played a gig a few hours before.
7. I've had their vinyl reissues in my basket on Amazon for a while and guess what, the prices have just jumped up....not sure how I feel about that. Sad news.
8. What?! Are you kidding? I don't get chance to listen to much music in the mornings as I'm in a rush. Guess what I had on? Black Hole Sun....and last night I was looking into rotary pedals for the amazing tone they get on this song. This is crazy. Totally out of the blue.
9. If I was gigging I'd easy get that LH500.
10. They are probably a nicely made bass but IMO, over priced in the current market.

12. I certainly prefer the tube drive circuitry of the Tech 21 pedals. I find most the DG tones to be WAYYYY too much like high gain guitar tones.
13.
I don't think the 410 cab has ever been unpopular
Not in the normal non-forum world. Forums....another story!

15.
Do you feel that the v2 was a significant improvement over the original? As Mudpup has noted, it seemed you could deal with the mids issue by dialing back on the treble and bass on the original? This is brought on the attached review of the original BDDI - and I LOVE the tube warmth that clearly comes through on this video. (Actually IMHO it's a great little review - he gets across a lot of helpful info in just 3 mins and leaves me wanting to buy the pedal!) https://www.youtube....h?v=c35sBhowaxM
Hi - yeah I really like it. I like a lot of control of mids, and often boost them significantly. Don't get me wrong, the original BDDI does not always scoop your mids, if you use the controls noted above, but I really like having the ability to sculpt mids properly.
16. On the announcement of the Polytune 3, I decided to move on my Polytune 2 to try a new tuner. The Polytune 2 was pretty impressive if I am honest. My only concern is what people noted about the footswitches on TC pedals being delicate compared to the Boss stomp (but no doubt TC have dealt with this). I'm not sure how accurate the Polytune part of the pedal was (seemed fairly decent) or whether I 'needed' it, so part of me is tempted to go back to Boss with the TU-3W. I've been super impressed with the Waza pedals, and apparently the buffer is the same as the ES-5/8 buffer, so high quality. But, spanner in the works - I also quite fancy waiting for the Polytune 3. I doubt any of us have tried the Polytune 3 as yet, but has anyone tried the TU-3W? Thanks
17. I might be wrong but I think the PDDI never seemed to please the BDDI purists....maybe this is why they opted for a new updated BDDI with mids control. I used a BDDI for years and upgraded to the v2 at some point last year. I'd still say Tech 21/Sansamps are the best pedals I've heard for tube warmth and drive, more so the Ampeg flavour.
18. Have you thought about the latest Sansamp BDDI V2 with mids control? There is a shootout in a magazine somewhere (fairly recent)and it notes that this new version allows your mids to really snarl through the mix.
19. Bizarre that the bass world was so 'anti-4x10' for so long, now they are making a comeback.
20. About 5-6 years back, I tried MANY different cabs, and sometimes I still have a look to see what is new, but when it comes down to it, the Aguilar DB212 is my favourite cabinet for the bass guitar sound I like.
21. It'd be easier if they just sold to shops direct now.
22. Just to add to this, I really don't think manufacturers/designers in the music world seem to have an idea of 'hit this deadline.' If I don't hit a deadline at work, I absolutely know I will be in for hell on earth. It MUST be hit, so I hit them before the day if I can. Just don't project dates you cannot hit to take orders (not related to BD by the way...not their fault). Be honest and add another month on top of your projection.
23.
You also have to feel sorry for BD. In effect Greek is there customer, so the first point of contact in the chain, so any ear bashing is going to be aimed at them. Shops being let down by manufacturers/distributors must be a real pain for the proprietor as well as the customer. Glad you were offered a refund by BD they are obviously doing what they can to keep you happy.
I agree. Good of them.
24. Bass Direct have these in - just so you know. Cannot get over the price. Are these hand soldered analog pedals? Or are they digital?
