  1. I have a combo at home for the rare occasion it’s required. i always DI into the bands PA. so much nicer only having to lug a head and a few pedals. the thought of lugging big bass rigs to gigs is upsetting!
  2. I bought a pickup and an electric guitar. Both were delivered roughly on time. prices are very good.
  3. I picked up a rather wonderful b stock Sire at Andertons. £159 as it had a tiny dent on the 20th fret! like I have any business playing that high up the fretboard !!!! They have a few Sire basses on but no others that cheap.
  4. I wonder if bass solos were as highly regarded back then as they are today.
  5. Shops are responsible for delivery. ebay sales the seller is responsible, regardless of what they say. In my opinion it’s ridiculous for any seller to expect the buyer to receive a broken item and have to take responsibility. Until the buyer receives the item they can’t be responsible for any of the process as they’ve never seen or touched the item. imagine Amazon having a lost package and telling you “tough, not our problem!” When I sell if I don’t want to take the risk I don’t post.
  6. Was it the underwater bit that put you off or the having to play in Manchester? ( just joking btw! I’m a proud nearly Manc born and bred)
  7. I got me a Squier Pete Wentz. it’s got a Dimarzio pup in it now. definitely won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love it! I’m a sucker for gaudy graphics and inlays. its the one on the right in this pic.
  8. Creamery Solo 14 P Bass Pickup Cream. Used for a few months, great condition. Does exactly what the website says, cuts through the mix wonderfully and has a lovely clank! I’ve realised I prefer my Dimarzio for my style. Great pickup handmade in Manchester paypal or cash on collection. £4 extra for postage, uk only.
  9. We all spend a lifetime searching for the right tone! its a long and winding road 😀
  10. I use external mics that pug into my iPhone. zoom iq6 is the one I have. allows easy control of gain to ensure the drums don’t clip. shure mv88 is meant to be good. id be dubious about using internal mics, never had a good sound that way.
  11. My band my video about my bass rig I use to gig
  12. I tried two amps for a few weeks, sounded great. Then I got sick of carrying two amps and downsized!
  13. I agree with Mr. Woss. Liam is the best frontman. Rock and roll is as much about attitude as it is talent. nobody has more swagger and attitude than Liam. There are definitely better singers, but as the whole package, he’s hard to beat. and nobody does more entertaining interviews and sound bites.
  14. I have a weirdly reliable band! im pretty damn reliable but still not as much as the guitarist.
  15. I’ve got a Squier affinity p bass with a late 70’s dimarzio. a Squier Pete Wentz with a Creamery solo 14 and a Squier standard pj with Herrick pups. The higher spec Squiers stock pickups are decent straight out of the box.
  16. I gig three squiers. Replaced the pups on them but otherwise great basses.
  17. Did you ever find one? i just got a Squier Standard p bass from 2003 and it has a 14 hole white pick guard. id like to change the colour.
  18. Awesome sauce! nice to click a link and it be a real treat.
  19. My band play exclusively straight to pa, no amps. we only play gigs with our own pa though as the we’ve had bad experiences using other people’s pa.
  20. I asked in a studio I used to practice in as they had a recycling bin. They said no, not recycled, have to go in general waste. Most Council recycling schemes don’t have the facilities to recycle them.
  21. After a parcel went missing UPS told me they allow drivers to leave “signed for “ parcels by a front door as the cost of replacing missing items is less than the cost of all the redeliveries.
  22. A good friend bought a guitar (Schecter C1 She Devil). It was love at first sight. I never knew guitars could look so good! At that moment I decided to start playing. My friend suggested I learn bass instead as bass players are always in more demand than guitards. Off I went to the local guitar shop and bought a purple Peavey and a little bass amp. Ten days later GAS took hold and I bout my second bass 😀. Never looked back. When my friend sold the guitar that inspired me I bought it from him, it is now my inspiration. Learning to play was the best thing I ever did in my life, I love it.
