2. I've snapped one bass string in 25 years, and that was at home practising. I always take a backup bass to gigs though. Currently, my gigging back up is a dirt cheap, 30” Encore! I dont have to bother taking good care of it so its propped up somewhere behind the backline or in the car if its a cramped stage. It's not a patch on my Fender P but it would be adequate to get through a gig. I've recently been taking an old PA head along too, as a back up for our proper PA, guitar or bass amps. Again, it'd be adequate if needed.
3. Hi Can anyone tell me if Squier Jaguars have a standard Fender/Squier Precision/Jazz neck/pocket fit? Ta, James
4. I use Fender flats on my acoustic. No complaints.
5. Kinks - You Really Got Me. Must be the most covered classic rock song.
6.
Darn missed ep 4 Austin - they are only on iPlayer for 6 days!!!
They are on iPlayer via my freeview box for a about 6 days, but if you go to BBC iPlayer via the web they are available much longer, for about 4 weeks. I just watched the first 4 episodes this week. Very good.
7. Has anyone had experience with one of the hollow body (or semi hollow bodied) Harley Bentons? Im taking a keen interest in the Beatbass - (Mccartney Violin bass).
8.
Currently I have three bcr basses- 2 warlocks (one with a reverse headstock) and an ironbird. I am desperately looking for a blood spattered warlock finish like the one in the god gave rock and roll to you II video, and would early love a mockingbird or wave or eagle come to that!! I could quite comfortably say I'm a fan!! Many sneer at these gems, but I love them to bits!!
Get some pics up, I wanna see then
9. I'm a Fender Precision, Gibson EB-2, Rickenbacker 4001 kinda man- timeless and understated basses. But... ...my love of a pointy BC Rich is a guilty pleasure. I put it down the Poison and Motley Crue posters that adorned my walls as a youngster.
10. Sorry Ash, another question. What is the exact scale length of this, I've read conflicting info on the interweb. Cheers
11.
I'm in Lancaster mate
Damn it! That's quite close to me in South Cumbria. I was hoping you would be further away and it would solve my GAS issue.

13. I'll bet the 4ohm cab has two 8ohm speakers wired in parallel. You could rewire them in series to give a 16ohm cab. That'd give you two 16ohm cabs which (in parallel) would give you an overall 8ohm impedance. Each cab would have an equal share of the 'power' (if you ignore the efficiency).
14.
If I wrote and asked nicely do you think they'd do one in Arctic White ?
Could ask them to do a non-reverse body one too? Ta
15. Hi Dunic. Thanks for uploading the vid, very useful. Can I ask you a question about the HB60? How much volume does it produce acoustically, and how's the tone? Cheers
16.
Same question - think I've just found the reason the op was asking!
I'd like to ask the sane question too. And probably for the same reason. Seems like at that price is worth a punt.
17. I love Dee Dee but I wonder what he'd think about having a signature Fender? He'd probably be happy, so long as he got paid. Interestingly he switched to ESP basses in the mid eighties after getting fed up with the declining quality of Fenders. (though he could have said that 'coz ESP encouraged him to).

I like it. Looks like a fun bass to own. Re the possible black or white paint job: it's a flying V! why not go for a crazy design? Zebra? Polka dots? Snow leopard?
19. Nive to see this getting some love. I've still got my Laney 120B, bought new in 1993. I currently have the amp section housed in a separate enclosure and use it as a head into a 4x10 cab. To be honest, I haven't tried too many other amps but I've never been able to justify replacing it (its got enough power for the gigs I play, plus I'm a tight arsed northerner).
20. Try a set of flatwounds. Not really 'acousticy' sounding but definielty more 'double bassy'.
21. A great loss. He pretty much taught the other Ramones how to play in that style and produced the first few albums (even if the official credits don't list him as such).
22. And I've spent years telling people Gene Simmons is an under-rated bassist. Carol and Gene could pass for sisters though, don't you think?
