1.
Just to say this is a lovely Jazz bass and no problem using my old pics, good luck with the sale!
Cheers Ash
very cool bass Lee.. thats got to sound awsome..
Yes Andy, a nice player this one but i've just acquired a Peter Scott Custom Jazz and i feel all my 4 string jazz dreams have been contented (we are of course in the honeymoon period though ). However I will not be too disappointed if the Fender don't sell / trade to be honest....but the crave for a Laky 5 is back...you know the feeling
2. Considering trading/selling my Fender jazz to get another 5 string. Its a great players bass with upgraded electrics to Wizard 64's and CTS pots etc. Sounds so much better than the Japanese stock set up. Plays wonderful, low action, great looks and sound to boot. It has the usual dings here and there and some 'honest' wear on the base & rear of the body - people pay to make their basses look like this...this is REAL wear and tear and not fake relic. It's pure Japanese quality and was built mid 90's (i think). In the name of recycling i am going to use Ash's old pictures (hope you don't mind Ash) from when i bought it off him, mainly as my iphone pics are terrible More pics here: https://plus.google....967557945127137 Looking for £450 (O.V.N.O) + P&P (£12) or trade ideally for Lakland 5501 or JO5 (can add cash), may consider Yamaha's, Warwicks, Spectors, or G&L or other 5 string basses - must be 18mm/19mm string spacing.
3. All SOLD, thanks. White Jim Dunlop bass wah...a few scratches, battery cover missing (as per normal)....and i'll have to locate the screwed rubber feet if wanted? - i had it on my board and so currently has velcro on...can leave on...or find the rubber feet and remove velcro. Selling as not used these days. SOLD SOLD-Ibanez PM7 (Tone Lok series)...mad freaking Phaser of some sort...goes from subtle phase to freaked out mad crazy stuff, quite a funky little pedal. SOLD.

New Zoom B3

Got mine yesterday, can't believe what a great piece of kit this really is for the money...and as Dood said easy to use too. Loving it!
6. I found the Orange terror bass to be the perfect solution & replacement for my SVT Pro 4...light and ballsey. Although limited on eq IMO.
7.
I remember Sound Control Salford having about 30+ Warwicks in stock around 2005.
Haha one of the first places i took my newborn daughter in 2009 (think it was still called Soundcontrol then)...introduced her to daddies other dreams
8. Wasn't there a Fender MIJ jazz recently in the For Sale section under £300???...that'd be my choice for under £300

SOLD!
bump. i can ship to england. i will organise the courier too. i take alot of care when shipping basses, as im sure Mr.Rasta can vouch for me. it could make a great project, or just a backup bass, or something to practice on, instead of risking damaging your very nicely kept bass!
Yep Milty is a top guy to deal with - deal with confidence B/cers. I have recently acquired his other OLP from him and it is brilliant...very under estimated basses these. Fitted with one of our very own B/cer 'TommoRichards' Stingray preamps (recommended for £20!!!) it makes for a very convincing bass that costs a hell of a lot more... brilliant combination.
10. I use the stereo jack (TRS) off my Behringer...thats what did the trick...took me freakin' ages to work it out though
11. New incoming B3 means i do not need this anymore. Good condition & great sounds & tuner. Really like having the additional built in expression pedal...very useful & easy to use pedal. Info here: http://www.zoom.co.j...h/products/607/ £30 posted
12. Finally got the wifey's permission to pull the trigger last night on one of these...delivery Tuesday....sooooo excited. Slightly off topic but i wonder if the behringer expression pedal will work with it ? I picked one up the otherday for £22 and i have to say i'm quite impressed quality wise (time will tell!), works great with my Boss SYB 5 synth pedal. I have a Moog exp pedal too but read above that they do not work to well. Maybe we should set up a shared B3 settings page
13. Very happy with my pre amp, fitted to an OLP this afternoon and it's sounds pretty damn close to a real ray now. Nice one
14. May also at a push consider trades for another 4 string
15. TRADED [s]For sale: Variax Bass 700 in Black. Minimal usage from previous user who bought it new and used 2-3 times by me. I really quite like this bass and concept however I've got other priorities at the moment and have too many 4 strings. This bass is a lot of fun, looks good and makes great sounds. As a modelling bass, it aims to recreate the sound of some classic electric, acoustic and even synth basses - I found the P & J basses pretty impressive, and the Steinberger & Alembic sound is great too. I value the bass around £375, obviously I am open to offers. For trades, well i could do with a 4x10 for our studio...something like Ampeg, Warwick, Fender or even one of the light ones Markbass etc. 4ohm preference but would consider 8ohm. Would also consider other cabs i.e 2x10, 2x12, 6x10 + - cash adjustments if necessary. May also trade for Zoom B3 plus cash my way or Lakland 5501 bass. Hope Gapiro doesn't mind me using his pics...i have given up on my old iphone for pics these days Also have Ashdown 2 4x8's for sale here: http://basschat.co.u...h-flight-cases/
16. I got these in a trade a few months back with the good friendly Teamcoy off here. These are really great pro cabs, very punchy and loud but sadly are not getting the use they so deserve and spend most the time at my home....mainly because i'm using a 15" cab for my reggae stuff which lives at our practice studio. They are custom Ashdown's as the cab speakers have been professionally upgraded to Neo's, hope Teamcoy doesn't mind me using his explanation: 'I bought these from JimmySims on here about a year and a half ago. Before I bought them, Jimmy had them reconed with Neodynium drivers and had the flight cases custom made for them. With the Neo cones they are now 1000w per cab rated at 8ohm. They also have the newer style Ashdown grills (full width logo) with them but I prefer and use the old style ones.' Both grills will be supplied. Original for sale thread here: http://basschat.co.u...own%204%20x%208 They are in perfect working order, the odd scuff to the tolex here and there but nothing too bad. A one hand carry also...obviously out of the flight cases . 8ohms each, jack inputs. 17. I'm seeing a lot more Wicks on the reggae scene.....Toots & the Maytals bassist Jackie Jackson has been using a 5 string wick for a while...so gotta be cool because Toots are like a snowball in the summer time cool
18. I'm a recent convert to a battered Warwick 90's Fortress, best 4 string neck i've ever played - currently my main gigging bass with my soul band. Although I had to whip out the actives and went passive with some trad Wizards...sounds lovely but still retains that Warwick mids sound...must be something in the woods theory
19. Go second hand!!! Try a nice 2006 ish JO4/5 with the Lindy Fralins -generally flawless and a wonderful instrument...i deeply miss mine...i had a DJ5 too - was great but i preferred the JO5.
20. The old ones are always the best
21. I have recently acquired a 4 string Line 6 Variax in a trade on here. I guess i'm still in the honeymoon period but i am actually quite impressed with mine so far. Agreed the model replication probably only comes mildly close to the real thing but it is a great idea to have many bass tone options on just one bass. The bass qualityitself is pretty decent too, i would say similar quality to a CV Squire/ decent Mex Fender. The neck profile is more jazz like than precision which i prefer although it is slightly chunkier in profile than a jazz. Quite heavy! Sounds wise, i am quite liking the 77 Stingray sound and the obviously the Steinberger sound for some reggae. The J & P sounds are quite convincing, particularly the P to my ears. A lot of the other basses it aims to model i have never owned so its hard to compare those really but i like some of the tones - the Alembic model is quite good too. The fretless & upright sounds are predictably a bit pants as are the 8/12 string models... although can be a good bit of fun for some ballad picking. The synths are not particularly great with the tracking as others have mentioned in other threads on here but you can certainly get some interesting sounds...for example i managed a nice Herbie Hancock 'Chameleon' bass sound - Moogey!. All in all I could see how this bass would be really useful for the studio...not sure live yet...perhaps to many options for me - i will probably gig it at some point though. I don't find powering the bass via power supply to DI box too bothersome either...in fact i quite like the idea rather than rely on batteries - you can however of course use batteries if you so choose. So to conclude I think they're an interesting piece of kit and definitely worthy of a dabble....plus i think these things deserve a bit more credit...but as i say 'i am stillin the honeymoon period'
