1.
Birchwood casey tru oil Really brings out the best in the wood! Finish it of with a bit of their wax and that's it! Nice and easy
Cheers Buddy, oiling right now
2. Hello. I've pretty much done what seems like 20hrs of sanding over the weekend on my ex bogie green Warwick Fortress. Now it is a natural beauty with a lovely wood grain - I love it, I believe it is a 2 piece maple body. I guess I'm a little stuck on what to do next if honest. I want to keep it natural but don't mind if it darkens or yellows a little. Sooooo, I have some Linseed oil - should I just oil it then perhaps put some bees wax on? Or should i try a different type of oil or something else???? Any other suggestions ??? I am of course a complete novice at this but so far so good Thanks - A photo from 2 days ago -
3. These are great for the money
4. Hi G, I've never had any issues with getting strings, I generally use elites. Having said that I'm not sure what's on there...I have a feeling they maybe DR's. I have some new Fender 5 strings that I can throw in too. As I say it's a cracking bass with Nordstrands. The pick ups alone are over £200 new
5. Bought a Carvin 2x10 off Tim. Top guy and good communications all round...even managed to get my cab delivered long distance. Buyers & sellers can deal in confidence. Nice one matey
6.
Can I have first dibs on this please. Just need to check something with my drummer. I should have a response by this evening. P
Yup no problems, you have a bargain . I'll be at rehearsal later this eve if i don't reply. Cheers
7. My Mac died a few months back...i'm still grieving So my trusty M-Audio Firewire 18/14 is up for sale as my PC does not have firewire. £100 posted - Bargain! Manual: http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manuals/FireWire-1814_Manual.pdf Review: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Oct04/articles/maudio1814.htm Loads more shizzle online. I'm heartbroken as it has a lot of great history with me but i cannot afford a mac for a while so this may as well go to someone who can make use of it. It records 8 input channels, 4 outs, although you can get a 'lightpipe' (think its called that) to get 16 channels. Has Midi in/out, SPDIF/Optic...its basically sexy No box or manual but there will be firewire cable(s) and the manual is in the link above.
8. Recently bought some Seymour Duncan PU's for my jazz. Wilco is a top chap and great comm's too. Buyers & sellers deal with confidence. Cheers matey.
9. Chris sold me some Wizard 84's, just set them up with a new 60's concentric pot set up...perfect. Chris is a top fella throughout - buy & sell with confidence
10. John's the man...nuff said! 60's Concentric jazz set up...absolute perfection & awesome
11. I can vouch this bass really is superb, it used to be mine! Far superior to my current US jazz in just about everyway...wish I had the funds to have it back as I really miss that neck and those Lindy's
12. I've got passive 64's P/J in my Warwick Fortress. It is by far my favourite sounding bass, 2 vol 2 tone config wired by BC's Kiogon. Results are Very warm, vintage sounds...a superb combination in my opinion - highly recommend for funk, soul etc
13. What pick ups are they ?
14. Breakestra or some Funkadelic. Earth Wind & Fires first album is great too 😎
15. On the basis of Pussyfunk you could drop in some of early Parliaments 'They call my baby pussycat'...great raw funk tune Another band name that could follow the trend 'The Feline Funk Consortiuum' ...think that's groovy? 😄
16. Hi mate, If you ever decide to sell the 15" Hartke give a shout up.
17. Ah yes, definitely one bass i really miss, but alas i'm skint after a recent 5 string purchase. Great bass this folks, superb neck - probably the best jazz neck I've played and well Lindy's as well...top notch and a lot of bass for the money. Who ever buys this will not be disappointed. Good luck with the sale mate, Telebass is a top chap too.
18. Just recently sold a bass to Timm (Tomm ). Absolutely top gentleman from Germany, sorted courier logistics too, hassle free bank transfer...the works! Great comm's all round. Buyers and sellers can deal/trade in confidence...100% credit to the Basschat community. All the best Timm and i hope your enjoying your new purchase...i have a feeling you are Lee

21. GONE Recently got this lovely bass in a trade on here as i fancied trying some Spector love. It really is a beauty of a bass in every way except the active EMG sound is not really suiting me, i'm more of a passive old school kind of guy If honest. I have thought about perhaps kitting it out passively but it kind of seems a bit sacrilege considering how it is supposed to sound so therefore i am offering it for a trade to see if i can find anything more suitable to my needs, if not i will probably go the passive route. From previous owner: The Bass is in excellent condition, some very minor surface scratches on the body but these are almost impossible to photograph. I've took a pic of the lower strap pin since it has a small chip by it but from the photo, it's hard to see because this is quite small. Bass has just been set up with some new Dunlop strings and plays very well, a new 9V Duracell has just been put in too. The bass comes with a Hiscox hardcase which is also in great condition. Just my addition to add, EMG's PJ, Spector Tonepump active circuit (no trim pot), Schaller tuners, very low action with no buzzes, stonking slap sound - quite 'hifi' and modern sounding, neck thru, brass nut, and quite possibly the most well built bass i have ever seen....quality is second to none! Hope the previous owner doesn't mind me recycling his better pictures too: Trade bait: 1) 5 string Jazz, prefrably passive with a good tight B string (i.e USA Fender, Lakland JO etc)...may instead swap my Lakland 5501, passive with Nordstrands for a 5 string jazz if anyone is interested ??? 2) Musicman (the only actives i do get on with ) - Ideally an EB Sterling, or 4/5 EB StingRay 3) May consider other 4 strings such as a decent US/Jap 75 reissue Jazz, possibly a Lakland Duck Dunn, or quirky old basses i.e. Ibanez Musician, old battered (but playable) Fenders etc 4) Double bass set up for jazz with a low action 3/4 size...ready to gig Colours/combinations and odd scratch or dinks not a worry Based in Plymouth, courier options OK, prefer to post in UK only
