1.
I agree I think people are put off by the stickers and it is a nice bass
yeah I'll take your advice on that one it really is a top bass, surprised no ones snapped it up yet
 2. Interested in my Lakland 5501 I have for sale?
 3.
Very tempted indeed... just that having picked up a BB425X not so long ago I am struggling to think of an excuse!
An excuse is that Laklands are beautiful players and the best tight low B strings ever...nuff said
 4.
Ugh! This is nuts. Right scale length, right pickups. Why is this still here?
Yeah mate i'm surprised too, especially at this price. Sign of the times i guess . I'll keep on bumping now and then, but equally i'll keep on playing it too whilst its in my hands....best low 'B's ever on Laky's.
 5. Yeah I've just stacked mine, Fender USA 2000 Jazz (i think). I love the tonal variation with having tone control on each pick up....far superior to the one tone in my opinion. I get a lovely soul warm tone with the bridge tone rolled off but the neck tone up....yeah two tone all the way .
 6. If you want to add some dosh i have a nice Lakland 5501 for sale in the 'For sale' section.
 7.
Well the previously mentioned Squier P-J is one new one. Ridiculously good for the money. Then today I read the email. "Conratulations..." Oh, here we go... "You have won the prize draw for the Warwick Alien acoustic bass on Facebook" I suppose Facebook had to be good for something!
That's proper 'awesome' Den...well done matey
 8. Interested in a swap for some wizard 84's - virtually new ?
 9.
We (more specifically I ) need pics! Ahh, go on, go on, go on. BTW, how, long did it take you to sand it down? The finish on mine looks bomb-proof! Edit: sorry, bit of a thread derail there. I'd say 400-450 depending on condition, finish, etc. As you were.
Haha keeping to the thread, i'd say £400-500 too, i think they're a lot of bass for the money and easily worth more IMO. Going off thread, well it took about a week to sand, blood sweat and fears. It still isn't perfect but its livable. I so much prefer the bass now though. Despite going all passive with Wizards trads it still retains some of that woody growl of the Warwick tone. Its a weird one as i didn't really believe all that 'it's in the wood' milarky but i guess now i'm a believer Anyhow, i've said it a billion times...great basses!!!...and now my main gigging bass...again Link here to build thread & pics http://basschat.co.uk/topic/207017-advice-on-finishing-a-maple-warwick-body/
 10. I've just recently sanded down my green fortress to reveal a lovely maple grain, two piece - love it! They're great basses for the money although I put a passive set up in my bass with wizards for a more traditional sound. I paid £350 for mine about a year ago, the previous owner I believe had it from new and paid over £1k back in the 90's. My Fortress has become my main gigging bass for my soul band especially now that I've ditched the bogie green colour, much prefer the oiled natural looks, superb slim necks too and top Warwick build quality. Mine is definitely a keeper
 11.
How heavy is it?
Have just weighed it and its just over 10lbs
 12.
What happened to the original preamp
Hi, I sold it on after trying the pick ups passive. It had an Audere pre amp previously but i much preferred the sound of it passively plus with the special wiring loom that Kiogon on here did for me i have a multitude of tone options. Passive is king
How heavy is it?
Not sure, i'll weigh it later when i get home from work although i could be on a late one so it maybe tomorrow. I did have buyer interested but he has had to pull out for financial reasons. So she's back up for sale
 13.
Am awaiting the results, more pictures please.
Sorry for the very cheesey shot...but i'm truly loving this bass now.....fitted with passive Trad Wizards for a lovely warm mellow soul & funky sound
 14.
Birchwood casey tru oil Really brings out the best in the wood! Finish it of with a bit of their wax and that's it! Nice and easy
Cheers Buddy, oiling right now
 15. Hello. I've pretty much done what seems like 20hrs of sanding over the weekend on my ex bogie green Warwick Fortress. Now it is a natural beauty with a lovely wood grain - I love it, I believe it is a 2 piece maple body. I guess I'm a little stuck on what to do next if honest. I want to keep it natural but don't mind if it darkens or yellows a little. Sooooo, I have some Linseed oil - should I just oil it then perhaps put some bees wax on? Or should i try a different type of oil or something else???? Any other suggestions ??? I am of course a complete novice at this but so far so good Thanks - A photo from 2 days ago -
 16. These are great for the money
 17. Hi G, I've never had any issues with getting strings, I generally use elites. Having said that I'm not sure what's on there...I have a feeling they maybe DR's. I have some new Fender 5 strings that I can throw in too. As I say it's a cracking bass with Nordstrands. The pick ups alone are over £200 new
 18. Bought a Carvin 2x10 off Tim. Top guy and good communications all round...even managed to get my cab delivered long distance. Buyers & sellers can deal in confidence. Nice one matey
 19.
Can I have first dibs on this please. Just need to check something with my drummer. I should have a response by this evening. P
Yup no problems, you have a bargain . I'll be at rehearsal later this eve if i don't reply. Cheers
 20. My Mac died a few months back...i'm still grieving So my trusty M-Audio Firewire 18/14 is up for sale as my PC does not have firewire. £100 posted - Bargain! Manual: http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manuals/FireWire-1814_Manual.pdf Review: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Oct04/articles/maudio1814.htm Loads more shizzle online. I'm heartbroken as it has a lot of great history with me but i cannot afford a mac for a while so this may as well go to someone who can make use of it. It records 8 input channels, 4 outs, although you can get a 'lightpipe' (think its called that) to get 16 channels. Has Midi in/out, SPDIF/Optic...its basically sexy No box or manual but there will be firewire cable(s) and the manual is in the link above.
 21. Recently bought some Seymour Duncan PU's for my jazz. Wilco is a top chap and great comm's too. Buyers & sellers deal with confidence. Cheers matey.
