So did anybody go last night? I thought they were bloody stunning and the double hit of Groundhog's Day and Wynona at the end left me smiling all the way home. Can't wait for tonight. Although Les's solo during Tommy The Cat did make me just want to put my bass down and try a different instrument.
I was there, foookin' amazing wasn't it? ...I'm a total convert!!! I thought they were all great, fantastic guitar work, drums etc....and yeah that solo did leave me thinking i don't play bass

Hello. I recently traded this great German Warwick $$ with another B/Cer. When i got it i thought i'm never going to get on with it...but as time went on i am really loving this bass lots and Warwicks in general. It is probably the most versatile bass i've ever played and looks and feels stunning. It has got gig marks, nothing tragic but it is a working bass. So why do i want to trade? Well I'm finding the giant humbuckers are restricting my (dodgy) slap bits that i've just started doing in a new band...i can slap on the bass but not as good as on a jazz style configuration so i am preferring something with more space i.e corvette or open to suggestions. Also i used to have a 90's Corvette and regret selling that on, a thin necked Corvette again would be great. I would also prefer the slimmer neck if possible although this is not essential as i have got used to the larger Warwick neck. Open to other Warwick ideas too, Streamers, Thumbs or whatever they're called Hope Mike doesn't mind me using his old pics for now http://s1126.photobu...tward/Corvette/ and pics of a new one on ebay, didn't realise they were so pricey. http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_3048wt_1012 More pics available on request when i can find where my toddler has hidden the camera (again!!!). Has a wonderful Warwick gig bag and all the warwick paperwork, tool kits etc etc...oh and did i mention it was German!!!!
Bump, this is a super cab, it was mine before for abot 3 yrs. Loud, clear and great tone with any amp I used. It is the best bass cab I have ever owned, only reason I swapped was I like the power of the Barefaced Dubster and am also building a fEARful 15/6. Lee is a great chap to deal with, so treat yourself to an ultimate bass cab.
Thanks for the kind words mate, yiup truly a great cab this...i just know soon as its gone i'll kick myself!
Hi, how much you looking for it? I have a SWR LA15 which I can include as a part exchange if you like. I brought it, then instantly realised it wasn't powerfull enough for me. Therefore its been used twice. Great condition etc.
Hi, thanks for the offer but i too need a more powerful combo - cash wise i guess i would be looking for about £500 ?

Best Beatles song to play in a pub band?
Raslee replied to The Dark Lord's topic in General Discussion
We do Twist & Shout...crowds always go crazy to it -
I've recently got this cab after trading my other Barefaced cab and it is superb in every way as you would expect from Barefaced - incredibly powerful and a ridiculously light carry (has wheels too) and amazing clarity of sound. The Big one can be couriered also at buyers expence. Cab F/S £500 Pictures available on request. Just found this review of the Big One http://basschat.co.u...efaced-big-one/ Here's what Barefaced said: Massive bottom end, mid range punch, treble clarity and, for their weight, the loudest deepest bass cabs you can buy... Is that another fifteen? Why yes it is, a very very special one. And what's that other speaker in there? It's six and a half inches of punch, clarity, growl and sweetness. But it's just a big speaker and a little speaker, all inone box. I've seen cabs like that from other makers. The magic is inside the box - a full 2-way crossover, akin to that found in the very best studio monitors, which splits the sound between the two speakers, so each speaker can concentrate on doing what it does best. No other crossover found in a bass guitar cab has this complex topology, with very steep slopes so it is all but impossible to overpower the midrange driver, so that you get no interference between drivers either side of the crossover point, and so that you get the most accurate and realistic sound whether you're the bassist, a bandmate or a fan. Big One - our flagship model The massive port may give away that there is something different about this classic looking cab. So what is going on behind that silver cloth grill? Well it's a very very special fifteen plus a tiny giant of a six and a half inch midrange driver. Prepare for a tone, bottom and output revelation Featuring a extremely high excursion neo woofers in an oversized ported enclosures gives the Big One the ability to move more air and give you a fatter high SPL bass sound than most cabs twice their size (and how many more times its weight?!) Because this woofers is so good at going low it is not good at going high - the rest of your sound comes from an extremely high output 6.5" midrange speaker which gives you more tone and volume than you can believe possible from such a small speaker - it can cut through even the densest rock mix. Not only that but because this speaker is small it disperses your midrange much better than if it were coming from a larger woofer. Stand anywhere in the room and you will hear almost exactly the same tone - no other bass cab can achieve this! Why isn't everyone else making cabs like this? However, it can play louder than many need so for those that don't need such output we offer the Big Baby. And for those that don't need the incredible clarity and off-axis response of a true 2-way cab with an amazing midrange driver, or the huge deep bass of our unique 'BigSeries' woofers we offer the Compact, the Vintage and the Midgets. DIMENSIONS 29.5" high x 21" wide x 16" deep WEIGHT 41 lbs SENSITIVITY Similar to a quality 2x12" FREQUENCY RESPONSE Unusually flat response from the deep thick lows to the clear highs RECOMMENDED AMP POWER 200-1000W RMS MAXIMUM OUTPUT Similar to a high quality 6x10" or 2x15" NOMINAL IMPEDANCE 8 ohms
Hi I'd like a low b five string, I will probably have to buy used to get best value. I have a jazz bass and a sting ray clone coupled with relaively short fingers and arms so don't want something with a massively wide board or with a hugely long neck. I don't gig and very occasionally play with others. It's got to be fairly flexible in sonic terms. Pretty wood is always nice as a bonus. Id prefer quality over flash. I've tried looking in the market place but it's like a sweet shop. I have at most £275. What can people recommend based on their own experience?
I'm potentially in the same situation, about £250-£300...seriously considering a VMJ Squier - any reviews???
Even though we are a Soul/Funk band we have started to play Ska songs for some daft reason. We played a couple of Mod meet type gigs last year and a couple of Ska songs were requested. Since then we have put 5 or 6 Ska songs in the set. I like Ska and I enjoy playing it, but a lot of folks do get confused when we whip those songs out because they expect us to play Soul and Funk. It's starting to bug me quite a lot and my reservations fall on deaf ears.
Haha i can relate to this, i've been playing in reggae/ska bands and reggae covers bands for the last 5-6years. So for a change just after xmas i thought i would join a soul/funk band that were seeking a bassist and my usual reggae keyboardist joined the soul band also...The rest of the band got wind of our reggae history and promptly put Monkey man (Specials version), No No no (Dawn Penn) & now want to do a Marley tune... further more they're mixing this with more mowtown/R&B tunes like Zoot suit Riot and Etta James/Shirley Bassey etc....and now they want to do an Adelle track.....I'm a soul man
I don't suppose you originally bought this second hand from someone in Reading did you? I just wonder if this used to belong to me! I had a DJ5 I sold with a hiscox case and I swapped the pickguard to a tort one.
Haha it could well be. I got it from Si last year.
