Sound Control in glasgow has one for £2200 It looks similar to the 20th anniversary one that i used to have without a scratchplate.
the one in Glasgow has the control plate without the pickguard which just looks plain wrong imo. Del,did you sell your 20th to a fella from Greenock by any chance?
-
love the black crinkle bridge and the built in mojo on that one. a sweet looking bass
-
very nice but I'd rather have a 20th SR4 (or 5)
-
three and a half grand!! well I just had a look in my pocket and I'm skint too but you're skint because you've got 52 basses
It was factory specified not to have a string tree, and there doesn't seem to be any dead spots due to the lack of one, so I wouldn't bother. Are you leaving the V/T setup as it is? I wondered about a dual V/T stack for more control but never got round to it.
Hi BB,maybe in time I'll have the stacked controls but I'm happy enough with it as it is. I guess I've only the 3 tones with no mixes inbetween but each setting is really great sounding so I dont mind.
Preeeeettttttyyyyy 'n' spaaaarrrkkkkllllllyyyy.....oooooooooh me likes it. I too love the neck any chance of a close up pic??
I still have one of BB2000s pics from when it was his
I also have an SB-2, but in black and vol/vol pots only. (& no string Tree!) But I'm not over over impressed with the output from the Precision pickup. Not the 'huge amounts of thump from the MFD split P' that you get so I'm wondering if I could have a duff pickup? I do change strings regularly so any ideas? I have also tried a diffferent bass through my amp (fender P Special) which gives a lot more 'thump' and tonal range. Cheers, Tim
have you tried raising the pickups and/or polepieces? I found the bridge pickup was swamped by the P when i first got it. With both p/ups on the P overpowered the SC. I had to hike the bridge one a fair bit till I got what i thought the right balance. Tonight I played my SB-2 and Asat one after another, both on the neck pickups and the Asat in passive/series. the SB2 wasnt any quieter or lacking in body hope this helps cheers

I used to have a Bongo 4 with the humbucker and single coil. the sc was just too close to the neck for my way of playing. I havent played one but the 3 band single H Bongo gets good reviews.the HB is in the sweetspot and the 3 band EQ bites a bit more than the 4EQ on the other versions but as I've only ever seen and tried the HS and the HH,I'm only repeating what the Bongo H owners on the EBMM boards are saying Strings and Things will send up a bass tp their nearest dealer to you for you to try so if you can try a HH or HS in stock it may be worth having a single H sent up to audition as I doubt you'll see any shops carrying one FWIW I did love the 4 band EQ on the HS and I thought the bass sounded A1/first class

I like the idea of a 2 HB SUB. good luck with the project if you go ahead with it.
What a beauty! Just noticed tho - no headstock string guide/clamp - does that not cause any problems, even with the tapered tuning posts?
you noticed this sooner than I did. the bass was out the case and being played when I first got it before I realised there was no string tree. I havent experienced any problems, there is sufficient break angle behind the nut but Its definetely something on my "to do" list

finally some decent pics of my SB-2. this bass has the factory birdseye neck and ebony fingerboard options(no longer available I believe) and also a added 3 way pickup selector and tone control instead of the usual vol/vol and no tone For a passive bass its got a fairly hot ouput, with huge amounts of thump from the MFD split P and the big bridge single coil has possibly the most honkin mids of any bass I've yet owned.I've messed about with p/up heights quite a bit and I've got the bridge p/up set quite close to the strings.I much prefer the distinct tone this gives. most SB-2 users seem to use the bridge single coil more as a tone shaper for the P on their basses without a tone control. I seriously love this bass so much its not funny. if you see one come up for sale buy it... you will adore yours too!

wonderful! .....that plum stain Euro is lush and the white ones are just amazing looking I've got a flame maple NS5 CRFM coming back to me this week and it'll soon be hobnobbing with the green stain Euro 5 . I'm now hankering after one of the spalted maple/zebrano/burr top ones too...quite fancy a 4... very addictive basses - I've yet to play a better bass at what I paid for them.

bump for a couple more pics (courtesy of Eubassix) and a revised sale price of £650 since the review the pre amp board was changed so the trim pot in the cavity adjusts the mid freq and the control on the front of the bass is mid boost/cut and not the reverse as was the case when it originally shipped for test
-
I got this Disciple 5 from Eubassix earlier this year and is the actual test bass reviewed by Bass Player mag (hard copy of review will ship with the bass) these are hand made in Japan and the workmanship is faultless. The bass has no issues whatsoever and comes with a good quality warwick gig bag. Would rather trade if possible(cash either way depending whats out there) interested in an S1 Jazz,G&Ls,Spector,Lakland or Warwick 4 or 5 string.others considered too Looking for £695 ono in a sale DISCIPLE 5-STRING SPECIFICATIONS: Neck Width @ Nut 1.81” (40.64 mm) Neck Width @ Final Fret 2.90” (73.66 mm) Neck Depth @ 1st Fret .837” (21.26 mm) Neck Depth @ 12th Fret .935” (23.75 mm) Fingerboard Radius 15.75” (400 mm) Fret Size (Height/Width) .06”/.09” (1.6 mm/2.35 mm) Scale Length 34” Nut Type Natural Bone Number of Frets 24 String Spacing @ Bridge .748” (19 mm) Strings Elixir .128-.45 Fingerboard Rosewood Neck Wood 3-Piece Hard Maple, Quarter Sawn Neck Joint 6-bolt with reinforcing ferrules and contoured Heel Headstock Angle 15 Degrees Body Wood 2-Piece Lightweight Ash Cap N/A Body Width @ Upper Bout 12” (304.80 mm) Body Width @ Lower Bout 13.5” (342.90 mm) Overall Length (Top of headstock to rear strap button) 44.75” (113.67 cm) Approximate Weight 9.5 Lbs (4.31 kg) *weight will vary Tuners Gotoh GB707 Chrome (11 mm Post) Truss Rod Access at Nut, adjustable via 3/8” (4.75 mm) Allen Key (included) Bridge Custom Gotoh Bridge/Tailpiece Assembly in Chrome, adjustable via .06” (1.45 mm) Allen Key (included) Pickups Custom Wound J-Style Single Coil and MM-Style Humbucker Preamp Custom 18-volt Active Circuit Controls - Volume, Blend, Bass (+/- 15 dB @ 90 Hz) - Midrange (+/- 12 dB @ 350 Hz) - Treble (+/- 17 dB @ 8 kHz) - Notch Filter (-20 dB @ 850 Hz (located in control cavity) - Pickup Output Level x 2 (located in control cavity) Available Finishes - Natural Ash - Trans Black - Trans Blue - Trans Red - Honeyburst Options Left-Handed (+10%), Fretless (Lined or Unlined - no upcharge) List Price $1,850.00 My internet access is a bit limited at the moment to thru the night at my work but I'll get back to you asap re any offers/questions etc cheers Keir

Which is the best of the cheaper end Warwick's to buy??
dub_junkie replied to Wooks's topic in Bass Guitars
I used to own an older passive Corvette Std in ash with the wenge neck. I got it used for £300 and it was terrific. imo a much better bass than the streamer Std I owned a little later. -
