1. I like the idea of a 2 HB SUB. good luck with the project if you go ahead with it.
2.
What a beauty! Just noticed tho - no headstock string guide/clamp - does that not cause any problems, even with the tapered tuning posts?
you noticed this sooner than I did. the bass was out the case and being played when I first got it before I realised there was no string tree. I havent experienced any problems, there is sufficient break angle behind the nut but Its definetely something on my "to do" list
3. finally some decent pics of my SB-2. this bass has the factory birdseye neck and ebony fingerboard options(no longer available I believe) and also a added 3 way pickup selector and tone control instead of the usual vol/vol and no tone For a passive bass its got a fairly hot ouput, with huge amounts of thump from the MFD split P and the big bridge single coil has possibly the most honkin mids of any bass I've yet owned.I've messed about with p/up heights quite a bit and I've got the bridge p/up set quite close to the strings.I much prefer the distinct tone this gives. most SB-2 users seem to use the bridge single coil more as a tone shaper for the P on their basses without a tone control. I seriously love this bass so much its not funny. if you see one come up for sale buy it... you will adore yours too!
4. wonderful! .....that plum stain Euro is lush and the white ones are just amazing looking I've got a flame maple NS5 CRFM coming back to me this week and it'll soon be hobnobbing with the green stain Euro 5 . I'm now hankering after one of the spalted maple/zebrano/burr top ones too...quite fancy a 4... very addictive basses - I've yet to play a better bass at what I paid for them.
5. I have one of these in black with matching headstock and a Floyd Rose. Its the most versatile guitar I've ever owned. The switching is a bit crazy at first glance but 5 minutes in and its second nature. Your blueburst is stunning! GL with the sale
6. bump for a couple more pics (courtesy of Eubassix) and a revised sale price of £650 since the review the pre amp board was changed so the trim pot in the cavity adjusts the mid freq and the control on the front of the bass is mid boost/cut and not the reverse as was the case when it originally shipped for test
7. I got this Disciple 5 from Eubassix earlier this year and is the actual test bass reviewed by Bass Player mag (hard copy of review will ship with the bass) these are hand made in Japan and the workmanship is faultless. The bass has no issues whatsoever and comes with a good quality warwick gig bag. Would rather trade if possible(cash either way depending whats out there) interested in an S1 Jazz,G&Ls,Spector,Lakland or Warwick 4 or 5 string.others considered too Looking for £695 ono in a sale DISCIPLE 5-STRING SPECIFICATIONS: Neck Width @ Nut 1.81” (40.64 mm) Neck Width @ Final Fret 2.90” (73.66 mm) Neck Depth @ 1st Fret .837” (21.26 mm) Neck Depth @ 12th Fret .935” (23.75 mm) Fingerboard Radius 15.75” (400 mm) Fret Size (Height/Width) .06”/.09” (1.6 mm/2.35 mm) Scale Length 34” Nut Type Natural Bone Number of Frets 24 String Spacing @ Bridge .748” (19 mm) Strings Elixir .128-.45 Fingerboard Rosewood Neck Wood 3-Piece Hard Maple, Quarter Sawn Neck Joint 6-bolt with reinforcing ferrules and contoured Heel Headstock Angle 15 Degrees Body Wood 2-Piece Lightweight Ash Cap N/A Body Width @ Upper Bout 12” (304.80 mm) Body Width @ Lower Bout 13.5” (342.90 mm) Overall Length (Top of headstock to rear strap button) 44.75” (113.67 cm) Approximate Weight 9.5 Lbs (4.31 kg) *weight will vary Tuners Gotoh GB707 Chrome (11 mm Post) Truss Rod Access at Nut, adjustable via 3/8” (4.75 mm) Allen Key (included) Bridge Custom Gotoh Bridge/Tailpiece Assembly in Chrome, adjustable via .06” (1.45 mm) Allen Key (included) Pickups Custom Wound J-Style Single Coil and MM-Style Humbucker Preamp Custom 18-volt Active Circuit Controls - Volume, Blend, Bass (+/- 15 dB @ 90 Hz) - Midrange (+/- 12 dB @ 350 Hz) - Treble (+/- 17 dB @ 8 kHz) - Notch Filter (-20 dB @ 850 Hz (located in control cavity) - Pickup Output Level x 2 (located in control cavity) Available Finishes - Natural Ash - Trans Black - Trans Blue - Trans Red - Honeyburst Options Left-Handed (+10%), Fretless (Lined or Unlined - no upcharge) List Price $1,850.00 My internet access is a bit limited at the moment to thru the night at my work but I'll get back to you asap re any offers/questions etc cheers Keir

14. I used to own an older passive Corvette Std in ash with the wenge neck. I got it used for £300 and it was terrific. imo a much better bass than the streamer Std I owned a little later.
15. that SB-2 is the dogs danglies ! seller has some great G&L bass stock.this lake placid blue L-2000 has free shipping to the UK, with VAT & Duty less than £750 new http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-G-L-USA-L-2000-E...1QQcmdZViewItem
16. does this qualify as porn? not sure but its sentimental to me here's my fretless I made back in 96/97 when I was studying guitar making and repair at the Leeds College of Music,Ialso made a fretted one the same with a laquered mahaogany body which I'll post some pics up of soon ash/maple/rosewood with Duncan Basslines MM alnico p/up and Basslines 3 band MM circuit with the push/pull slap switch tuners are Schaller BMs and the bridge is a Schaller 3D cheers Keir
17. thats sweet looking and so versatile too! I'm wanting a G&L 5 stringer myself.
18. its a beauty but as stated, overpriced bottom right pic there is some mega heavy figure lines in that neck, very nice indeed
19.
Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like the body might be finished in the discontinued Red Swirl, like mine. If so, it's not a refin. Here's mine (a pig to photograph properly)
thats lovely! - nig had a L5500 up FS on here a few months back in the blue swirl. Both look great - the gaudier the better with G&Ls I say,I love the metal flakes in particular - not too long ago there was a green metal flake SB2 with maple board on ebay that had my eyes bulging out their sockets every time I saw it. that and the silver flake JB-2 I missed out on twice and for the seller flat black is always good

21. a lakland JO or DJ? or if its just a traditional bass which can do a multiple number of tones active or passive - a L2500?
22. the bridge is a Schaller 3D. You can get replacement G&L saddle lock bridges direct from the G&L online shop at $70
23. I'd happily buy, own and play any good quality P that had a single coil at the bridge and a 1.5'' nut. mines is called a G&L SB-2
