1. FS is my minty G&L Legacy in fullerton/fiesta red with matching headstock, aged parts kit,G&L trem, sperzel tuners with staggered posts,G&L alnico single coils and PTB(passive treble and bass). comes with certificate of authenticity and deluxe G&L gig bag Guitar is a 2006 build and the serial number is CLF44120, I bought the guitar new from the USA and have registered it on the G&L registry. Would like to move this on as its been sat pretty much idle since late summer last year(My MM Albert Lee and Axis get all my 6 string time) looking for £425 price is rockbottom for me and thus firm. would probably be interested in trade for a nice clean American series Jazz or Precision
2. s_u_y's blueburst Stingray. I wanted the bass, had 2 different opportunities to get it and didn't jump on it which still bugs me other than that I'd have Pino's fretless stingray. cant not think of Alan Partidge playing music for chameleons whenever I read or hear anything about Pino
3. Got it home - its solid maple wings and has an earlier serial than the natural oil one, on the Sound Control label on the backplate it says "SPECTOR EURO 5 GREEN STAIN LX" I've taken a pic of the control cavity. it looks exactly the same as the other one inside. from my blurry picture, can anyone tell me which pre amp it is? it's a superb bass. cheers
4. My Czech Spector thru neck 5's weren't too hard to find. seriously good basses imo I'd quite like a Lakland 55-02 or a DJ5 but at 19mm/.75 the bridge spacing's a bit too wide for me. I love the look of them both though best 34" scale 5 string I owned was an SR5 but I couldnt go back to it from the 35" scale length now
5. (red?)tort, white pearloid and black - maple and rosewood too,all on the same bass hope these help
6. thanks for the info cetera. cool beans...2 days down and I'm already picking it up tomorrow
7. great practice bass amp.in near mint condition,no issues due to its worth its only going to maybe appeal to somebody around Glasgow/central belt could meet in Glasgow no problems looking for 70 pounds also have for sale Belcat Delay and Chorus pedals, both mint and boxed - 30 quid the pair incl recorded delivery postage LIne 6 Crunchtone Overdrive - again mint and boxed and looking for 35 pounds incl postage cheers
8. cheers fellas - straight Euro 5 will do nicely! this week I was going to post up here on BC asking for suggestions for a 35" scale length/16-17mm bridge spacing alternative to my NS5 CRFM but as soon as I saw the green one today I felt 100% sure this bass will be as inspiring to own and play as the one I already own and adore. re the lack of gig bag and the apparent lack of willingness to supply one (dont get me wrong, the sales gassistant was off digging one out for me at the time).........if I was to spill the beans how much I got this bass for you wouldnt blame them but still, the Tribute G&Ls come with exactly the same bag for free. The bag is on the Spector website for 80 dollars which will probably mean 80 quid.meanies lol
9.
he will probably be able to tell you which employee made it.....
now that's knowing your spectors
10. I actually thought how the word Spector would attract cetera to this thread when I was posting it. I'm sure he'll maybe can help. Knew I should have spent a bit more time chatting with Paul at SC about the bass (always liked that guy working at the city centre shop - I'm glad he's back again)..... her who is my girlfriend was hovering around between the PA downstairs and the acoustics upstairs. (she sings and plays) so the deal was done in like 60 seconds. it looks much the same as my other spector 5, but glossy and maybe not so beautifully figured front and back. I just saw the thru neck, gave it a quick play and paid a deposit sorry no pics till I pick it up..didnt even think to take one with my phone
11.
Either, it's for a recording project. Tempt me wiv what ya got. No firewood though
G&L Legacy 1 year old, bought from new, Made in USA,fiesta red, matching headstock, rosewood fingerboard, aged parts,3 alnico single coils,G&L vibrato, sperzel tuners with staggered string posts, certificate of authenticity + cash from me http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/du...ny%20stringers/ well this was the idea last night, but I just bought a Spector 5 this morning.assuming the Legacy would be of interest to you, the cash difference may be an issue for me now. let me see what else I can come up with cheers

13. I was up at Sound Control Glasgow city centre this morning putting a guitar into Jimmy Egypt for repair. With that done I walked the few yards to the bass dept and hey presto! they had a couple of specials on Spector basses today with a further 10% knocked off. I therefore couldn't resist a new thru neck Euro 5 maple top in a green stain high gloss finish (would have loved black cherry but it was at least a couple of hundred more).I paid a deposit on it today and pick it up Tuesday.Paul the bass guy was trying to get me a gig bag too till his supvr no-no'd that one. do they come with Spector bags? I'm not sure whether its an LX (no green stain listed on their website) or an older one.probably an ex demo that didnt shift on account of the colour as it was maple front and back and I couldnt see any laminate lines on the side,I didnt ask whether it was a tone pump circuit,I didnt even have time to plug it in as I was meeting the other half and didnt want her coming in downstairs and me buying another Spector lol... it was spotless and played fantastic acoustically which was enough to seal the deal....just cant wait to get it home now. anyone got an idea about which version it is exactly? btw never really knew what to think of buck-eye burled/spalted tops till I saw a couple today - they were absolutely gorgeous and stood out a mile.

17. David,I'll keep that in mind.I've been offered a brand new ash blonde JB-2 and Im debating whether I can afford it.If I need to punt on the L2K you have first refusal now, then or whenever. cheers Keir
18. the sparkles were discontinued about 5 years ago.only one since was the re-issue of the blue dawn finish on the 2007LE I'd wanted a white sparkle Stingray or Sterling for about... well 5 years since I went to order one and found out they'd stopped making them.the only one on dealer stock lists at the time I could find was a 2 band Stingray fretless with matching headstock which even ruled out buying it and doing a neck swap with another. This one showed up on ebay last October so I borrowed the money and now I've got the maple neck on her its happy days
19. USA L-2000 in clear red swamp ash with no front dot markers and wood body binding.lovely figured neck too. my eyes hurt looking at it but I guess if yer a southpaw it looks a whole lot different http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting
20. nice one! theres a lot of tone shaping onboard my only wish is that there was a mid control but i can live without it btw cool missus you have as well , my ex wife only ever got interested when I was selling them
21.
Good price on the new Fender I wasn't convinced when I first saw the new Fender basses but not so sure now looks quite classic. Anybody ever dealt with this ebayer? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-American-Seri...1QQcmdZViewItem
lovin' the red in that burst and the case too.very lush the seller posts on the EBMM forum under the same name. In his listings he says he'll try and source anything you're after and I'll give him his dues..within a couple of days he had found a pearl lavender SR5 that I had been wanting a long time.Unfortunately for me by the time I added import duties and taxes it worked out more than I was prepared to spend but he certainly lived up to his handle. he comes across as a nice guy to deal with in the correspondence I had with him. hope this helps
22. the 4HS Bongo Iused to own sounded nothing like any Stingray or Sterling I've owned or played (including the dual p/up ones)the neodynium magnets,4 band EQ,continous pan control and 18v circuit are just well different. I love my sterlings but I'm in agreeament with the general consensus that the Bongo is one fantastic sounding bass. edit : just read the post above, I think the twin bucker G&Ls sound different again..more organic, woody and ballsy sounding, the Bongo has a big tone, just more hi-fi to my ears anyway
