1.
wish i could justify having 2!
You can! I`ll even meet you in Perth!!!! Jez
2. Jesso, I`d rather note post for the reasons in the 1st post but if I do decide to post, I`ll give you a shout. Jez
3.
Any idea about the weight? They usually weigh a bit, which has always stopped me from owning one. Shame cos that's a beaut.
I don`t own a set of scales Jesso but it`s not a heavy bass. It`s nowhere near as heavy as my VMJ with the maple body. A few guys local to me on here have had a play of it and they didn`t mention the weight. Looking at previous sales, Tom1946 sold a couple recently and they were around the 9lb mark so that shouldn`t be too far away. Jez

5. I wouldn`t bother with how they compare against a "real" Overwater. It`s a fantastic looking bass and you seem well happy with it, so, result!!!! Jez
6. Is SUNN not one of those Jap o crapo , or mabye not so crapo, 70`s brand. I think someone has a Sunn Mustang bass on here The parts cbs take over sounds a bit far fetched to me. Jez
7. I have 4 at the mo and I play them all. I tend to rotate the ones I play in the house or at rehersals but gig with either the Jazz or the g & l. My problem is I love the neck on the Jazz but love the pickups/sound from the g & l. I really wish I could be the guy who plays one bass all the time and is happy to do so. Jez
8.
If it's based in Paisley, don't ask too many questions!
Donny the next time your in Paisley, me and the lads are gonna break all 6 fingers on your right hand. Let`s see ya play then!! Jez
9. What are you basing the "ranking" on M? Is it for the number of posts, amount of friends on here, talent or lack of, biggest wind up merchant, most notorious....? Jez
10. Good work guys. Like the new format. Jez
11. There was a guy on Gumtree up here selling a "vintage" Tanglewood P bass copy from 1983 for 150 pounds. So 1983 is now vintage?? Jez

13. Ta for all the advice. Can`t afford the RS range so I have got a 2x10 BC and am well chuffed. It sounds great and it is light enough to carry in one hand. Just have to save up for the amp head to go with it Jez
14. I might be gettin a new cab tomorrow and fancy one of the TC BC cabs but 2x10 or 2x12? Whats the differance in sound between the 10 and 12, if any? I had a 2x10 combo but only gigged it a few times and have always used a 1x15. Are the cabs any good? They weigh 20kg which is ideal for me as I stay one floor up and TC`s more expensive gear gets a good right up. Or how about using 2- 15inch cabs, 1 an Ashdown and the other a SWR, although they both have Eminence speakers. Jez
15. That`s ok for 40 quid, a good wee project. Talking of things Japo crapo, what has happened to Bassassasin? Apologies for thread diversion. Jez
16. At the weekend I picked up a Squier Mike Dirnt P bass for just over a ton and after replacing the pickup, strings and tuners it is playing like a diva. It has the lowest action of any P bass I have owned and the neck feels fantastic. I have owned US, Jap and Mexican P`s but this just feels the best out of the lot. And it`s a chepo from Indonesia! Just goes to show it aint about the value but as said above, how it feels and sounds in your hands. Jez
17. I have never noticed any buzzing but then again I use it in passive mode most of the time. I`m pretty sure that all the active circut does is boost the signal as the tone controls are passive all the time, but don`t quote me on that Jez
18.

Well cool, howz about some details? Jez
19. You could try this link. You might find the answer here. Jez http://www.badassbassplayers.com/forum/vie...69d4a59c86ed83f
20. If you look at Weller doing it on Jools`S Later shows, they seem to play it at a slower speed. Jez
21. Look on the bright side, there are loads of guitarist up here. Or rather, people who think that they can play in a band Hope your singer get better soon. Jez
22. Got to agree with you Lozz, he seems a right decent guy when you see him on the documentry Back and forth. And he has given me P bass gas! Jez
23. On the recent garage tour (a tour of peoples garage surprisingly) he played P basses and his black and the gold Laklands. The black one is very nice indeed. Here is a link to Nate talking about P basses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0eqlNKBFs8 Jez
24. Dave Gilmours guitar tech has said that no matter what guitar Dave plays, he still sounds like Dave. It`s all in the fingers. If I played Marcus M jazz I would still sound sh*t Jez
25.
I've never played a Fender that is seriously flawed. I've had a MIM jazz, a MIA jazz & currently a Deluxe MIA P bass. I had the chance to play a fair few different ones when I bought my MIM & several years later the MIA. Both times some were noticeably not as good as others, but none were dogs at all. Where are all these awful Fenders people speak of on here??
I gotta agree with this. I have had 2 of the new model P basses and the quality was spot on. The first one was £800 brand new and the second as new which cost £695 which is more like the price they should be. There will be dodgy basses from any volume manufacturer. Mabye more from Fender as they manufacture more than anyone else. Still, this is no excuse for poor qc on occasions. Jez
