3. Isn't there a famous comedic character with a pen collection ? i've already googled Alan Partridge ,and Arthur Dent and the Royston Vasey shop owner but no luck so far...
4. Yes i agree with the above comments , basically do everything opposite to how you would normally achieve a nice sound, or be lost in the mix unless you are working with guitarists who actually listen to the bass in which case they might make some room for you ? can you tell i'm a little tainted by previous experiences !
5. yep spot on its a very good instrument for a very decent price end of..
6. For me it's not so much the bass as the strings I use my p with flats or old rounds for reggae, blues and anything which requires an old school finger style tone I use my jazz with newer strings for fusion, funk etc where I need a more modern tone ... But I could easily swap the bass's around with the right strings for the job.
7. There were MiM Antigua p's a few years ago but the serial number on this seems to indicate this is a u.s.a 78 i just wondered how reliable the numbers are ?
8. So is it definitely a 78 usa ? [according to the serial number anyway] or can you get Mexican and Japanese with the same numbers ?
9.
Yup, good deal. Why would you tell him what it's really worth? Is it a case of being nice? Or is it a case of ''I am not able to get it, so nobody else will''?
I would tell him even if i was about to buy it as i'd feel guilty otherwise.
10. Does the serial number mean its an american 78 model ?
11. I have a couple and i love'm for me i think they achieve that bouncy 60's vibe really well i prefer more modern stuff on a long scale but i'm sure a shorty can do that too i have a squier bronco and an old 60's tiesco silvertone type bass both cheap and both great imo
