  1. I should be picking bass up from Gary tomorrow so i could drop it back to you tomorrow evening after putting it through its paces if you like Rich ?
  2. This looks like a very cool bass ..have i missed the chance for a go while its in my area ?
  3. Well g.l.w.t.s. thats a great price ..unfortunately i would need to sell something first or i'd have it.
  4. I have played the Squier VM fretless and it seemed great it had more upright like fat warm tone than other fretless instruments i have played ,i was expecting a more jaco kind of tone but it had a more natural scooped sort of sound which i liked a lot.
  5. Hi is this still for sale and is it a p or j neck ..cheers
  6. I thought it was Mike Stern but it wasnt him either 😀
  7. Looks cool and with that brighter more articulate tone it could be a slap monster ..
  8. Cheers Bean that's cleared everything up nicely ....🙃
  9. Jazz is the holy grail to musicians and if you can master it you'll be able to play anything ! loads of great stuff already posted on here so i thought i'd share one of my late night faves and lesser known gems
  10. That would be cool ,and I hope it all works out with the new neck.. Grangur seemed to have a very successful time rectifying a twisted neck in the repair section maybe he can do something with your old one if you have no luck with fender.
  11. I would be interested to know how the graphite neck will affect the tone as i thought it might make things quite a bit brighter do status no longer sell wood necks ?
  12. Nice work Rich i probably have one or two basses that could do with a little of this i may have to have a go myself... i wonder how much overcompensating needs to be done to have the twist settle back to straight..
  13. I think you may have misunderstood he meant fire lighting coke..it was up north you see 😀
  14. This ones not actually mine but the guitarist i play with.. Late 70s or early 80s and the band were a kinda hippy prog affair all very peace and love and right on [think Neil from the young ones x 5] they are booked to play a pub in Beds [ i think Luton ] ,unknown to them they share a name with a hardcore racist skinhead band [i think it was something to do with Swedish mythology] well before they even got to play a note the disappointed racists decided to kill all hippy's ,guitarist says they were petrified and trying to hide behind the gear at the back of the stage the bass player had already taken a slap, at this point seemingly from out of nowhere entered a load of enraged rastas who proceeded to beat the crap out of the now retreating skinheads ... it turns out a local soundsystem were having a get together next door and came to the rescue ... although it could of been the worst gig it turned out to be the best in many ways 😁
  15. If you lived round here i'd use you at those prices although i think you would probably have to charge more if you lived down south i reckon you should be able to charge 15 an hour for your skills.
  16. I do my own as i was always disappointed when anyone else did it ,and i would only ever expect to pay 35 to 40 tops as others have said its easy to do yourself .
  17. A young Dion Estus on bass with the best singer of all time [indisputable] Anyone know what year this is ?
  18. I've had jazz bass's from 50 to 1500 pounds and have found that the price generally doesnt reflect quality or sound very much at all i would say if you want passive go for a vmj as they are great and if you want active go with a sire v7 as you cant really get any better at any price point.
  19. Just silly talk on here Anita is half decent for a pop soul singer but Aretha wears the crown .
