1.
Superlux HD 669. Not cheap; inexpensive.
+ 1 for these i use them for band rehearsals and think there great...i use expensive beyer and sennhieser in recording studio as someone else has paid for them
2.
Robert Glasper, 20th November, Birmingham Town Hall.
cool..I shall have to get to see him down here

5.
Awesome, love me some Wobble. Ask him if you can use his Ashdowns
I want to and i want to try his Ovation too but that might be pushing it
6. Jah Wobble on friday at Bedford Esquires and as an added bonus we have the support slot
7. Ooh I want the Lee bass and the Peavey ...hmmm
8. First thing i would try is swapping strings and see how they sound.. do you not find new strings sound bright on your fender or do you tend to keep old strings on ? i used a vmj with flats or old rounds in my reggae band for a long time and it sounded great i also used one with fresh new daddario's for a funk band and that sounded good too so you should be able to get whatever sound you like really.
9. I would also make sure your pickups are the same distance from strings as on your fender.
10. I have had 2 vmj's and they are quite bright and clacky especially with new strings, but they shouldnt be that different to a fender although if your deluxe is active that could make a big difference compared to a passive bass depending on how the eq is set... what does the vmj sound like with old strings on it ?
11. Well thats a bit tasty ..hats off to you sir !
12. I prefer the Ab1 to the S2 [ looks and tone/sound ] so i guess its a matter of where your preferences lay...but i definitely wouldnt sweeten the deal with the Kestral if it was me The playerbility and passive tone of the Kestrals are hard to beat for any money
13. You cant really go wrong with the staggs and you still get a very fat sound from them this is mine https://soundcloud.com/timothy-terrence-higgins-iv/stagg ..got mine on here for 250 and very pleased
14. Yes i have and have always been very pleased with the results Malcolm is very experienced he sorted my ashdown abm 500 out and i know of a few other players who have been very happy with him always reasonable prices too...he gets thumbs up from me
15. Dont bank on it mate
16. I have the H.B. fretless acoustic and they are great for the money but beware of putting the battery in the wrong way round as i did this and now it doesnt work ! i have been meaning to contact Thomann for ages and get some replacement electrics ... i still play it acoustically you can hear it here https://soundcloud.com/timothy-terrence-higgins-iv/alt-ohm
17. I have very much enjoyed all this months offerings from the mellow to the dark to the mad ... not sure which category mine falls into but here it is... https://soundcloud.com/timothy-terrence-higgins-iv/alt-ohm recorded straight onto my phone with acoustic [ H.B. fretless ] and it sounds like it !
18. Its gotta be Bob reggae's Pele would have run rings round the fab four and with Family man in goal things couldnt get anymore solid ! .. although i reckon if you had asked the question on a guitar forum the glorified boy band would have it !
19. i have tried all of these and liked em, but in the end i settled on the eden its very warm and natural sounding and Andertons are doing them for 60 notes at present
20. No i dont get reliced.. just looks like someone sh*t on it and then buried it for a couple years....
21.
No, the present selection are far and away the best Noodlers ever (present company excepted...), and, in any case, I'm not a 'phone-in, 'vote for whom you think should be on the Certificate'-type popularity competition person. I'll be very generous, though, and promise to include those erstwhile, but inferior, Noodlers on your own winning Certificate when you win. Can't say any fairer than that, and anyway, I'm a stubborn old git with very fixed views concerning Noodlers on Certificates. (Scuttles away to look up any Marcuses that may have played bass, and to see why Ric Grech should be considered by anyone as a Noodler. Music in a Doll's House was everything but Noodling..!
..i did actually have to google Ric Grech ...
22. Well done M.B.A. ..and Dad can we have Marcus and Family man on the certificate as well please
23. A good drummer is one who 1. turns up to audition 2. has drums 3. isnt out of it 4. doesnt attack anyone but they are few and far between
24. Very cool, they really are exceptional instruments ..i have the ash maple v7 and am thinking of getting an alder rosewood vintage what are the tonal differences between your two ?
25. Learn the Devon Bradshaw approach and everything will be Irie .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmyplWLwIKA
