  1. I think the question was about bands. Clearly they would outsell RHCP, especially as Ms Swift has the record for the highest grossing tour of all time. But none of them are bands, they are all solo artists. There aren't that many big young bands. I mean I am happy to go and see wolf alice instead of any of the groups listed here, but they are hardly a large rock band.
  2. I believe (litteraly like on the other thread, genre unspecific), its not the old school approaches or that rock dinosaurs are still going strong, its that those old rock groups have a following that I don't think it is possible to get today. They got their following when it was still possible to get it. This is why there is no one to replace them and why groups today doing exactly the same thing as groups did before won't get anything like the following that those groups got. Not just rock, how many groups are there actually? Look at the charts, how many groups get in the charts at all? Its mostly solo singers (or singers featuring..).
  3. Music is different since the 90s. Back then you bought an album, listened to it to death and then you bought lots by those people, and those people who were related to those people, and you were passionate about it, so went to see them etc. Now music is basically valueless, you can hear it everywhere, and the tribalism and intense listening to one group is not really something that does the same now. Music shows are about some singer, as the only one that matters (hense the lack of groups), and xfactor type shows are shown as the way to get famous. Its just the age it is now, the era of the band is sort of over
  4. They generally are mono - if you want stereo you use two auxes for left and right. Seconded to this - I originally had an XR16, but one of the things I wanted (apart from multitrack recording) was the increased number of aux output so that everyone could have their own. Once you get used to having a good IEM, the next thing you really want is just what matters to you in it. I mean what is the point of having your guitarists solo in perfect clarity when all (or mostly) you want is your bass or your vocals?
  5. I would have mentioned the downside of it being mono, but that is exactly what the OP is looking for
  6. On a £250 bass I wouldn't have much of a problem with much of that. Beyond that price its not acceptable. Yes, it can all be fixed, that is what separates cheap from expensive. If the knot annoys you now in the honeymoon period, it is going to drive you mad and stop you playing it later.
  7. Always liked the look of them, never played one. Not many around (unless they have done a re-issue?)
  8. I have always used one of the LD sytems ones but the quality is a bit rubbish and hissy which I didn't mind so much, but when my wife wanted to try a system, as Andertons had the XVive U4 for £169 I thought I might as well try them. Absolutely crystal clear and so much less hassle to set up. One little xlr plug for the montor out, one little block for the IEMs and a dual micro usb for charging. Had a bit of a problem to start with interference with the mixer wifi, but changed the channel and that is now ok (also now changed the wireless for different matters). Cant praise them enough.
  9. Because it solves a problem that almost no-one has ever had, by making something that is easy for most awkward and problematic. Also not all active basses are wired with negative on the ring and earth on the sleve, it doesn't matter if it is that way round or the other way round, and some do it the other way round (ibanez often have). So that way you blow up the preamp. A lot of work and would probably take more power to do than just leaving the battery plugged in!
  10. Indeed - although that mansons is technically different to the shop, owned by a different brother in the family (actually was, but now owned by Matt Belamy)
  11. You would think so the amount I seem to go through..
  12. There is a player, but doesn't do most of what musescore does
  13. I am of the same mind, I am not vegan, although my wife is, but yes, if you can do somethign with less harm that should be a no brainer. Most of my other straps are US, seems oddly that is more of a thing there, Couch straps and Denali
  14. Isn't that about as many as AC/DC have?
  15. Doesn't sound that much japan, can see a roxy music tilt, but still its own. That is Guy Pratt on that isn't it?
  16. Symphony pro? There is also staffpad, but that is non-ipad-level expensive!
  17. Note that not all of the right-on straps are vegan, they have a vegan range. I have a blue paisley one from them which is nice. Mansons have always been fairly helpful, although I am not sure I have ever bought from them, they are quite small.
  18. Their earlier stuff used the ICEpower 700ASC/X, which is a 700w amp, so maybe the same thing. it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere. Its feasable that if you want 900w and you can accept a THD of 20% then that amp could do it. Although they also make a 1000ASC, so maybe that Nope looking at the interior picture of the module it is a ICEpower700AS1 Talkbass image link Module: https://www.profusionplc.com/parts/icepower700as1
  19. So there isn't anything specific you know about it, just that you don't trust class D ratings. I just looked at the manual (oh, a 2R switch to reduce your output, that is a good idea) - It claims Maximum Power Output: 900 Watts RMS @ 4 (1khz full blast 2 min max) 20%THD Ignoring the 20%THD which seems a little large, that is a very specific claim that none of the other class d exagerated companies claim - 900W @ 1kHz continuous sound like a proper rating. I think that works better if it is an image rather than a link!
  20. So what is it? I assume they are saying 900 - what do you think it is. I hadn't seen anything to the contrary (not that I looked, or even cared that much, but interested now!)
  21. They are fairly well proportioned though - I mean the amp is only 35mm high in the case, I certainly wouldn't want the feet to be any higher than that.
  22. TC-Electronic had made the TC amps before their aquisition by music-tribe though, so not really their fault. I am not sure why they felt the need to put 2000 on it, its not like you are going to use that on an amp head anyway.
  23. Yes, negligable, I just wondered if they had started marking them with something other than 2000W now. I almost got one when thoman were being crazy about them (I think they got to under £200), but in the end I have enough amps, so it put me off. Hell of a deal though.
  24. So is it actually 900w or noone really knows?
  25. Interestingly enough, and not related to europe, but I decided I really need to get the battery pack for my Q2N camera and their weren't many non Amazon places. Then I noticed that B&H in the states had it. Had always avoided using them because of shipping and tax, but I clicked add to basket and it had 'including UK VAT' - and the price for it with shipping and tax was less than amazon anyway, so thought I would go for it. Came today, no additional costs.
