Looking at the Guitar Pro web site the latest (demo) version for OSX 10.4 and higher appears to be 5.3 You should be able to log into the customer area and download the latest version. I'm not a a Guitar Pro user so I can't check for sure.
Thanks BigRed I had missed the download of the latter version. I have it now and guitar pro 5.3 works fine with macOSX 10.5 hooray!

Does anyone know if there is a version of guitar pro that is compatible with OSX10.5. My version guitar pro 5.2 clearly is not which is a shame as I find it very useful indeed. hey ho.

Tasteful, straight forward, warm fuzzy bass, doesn't get in the way of the vocals and keeps the tunes moving along. Jobs a good'n.

Yup +1 for the switch craft but you can get a warwick one from thomann for much less than wawrick have quoted you try http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_klinkenbu...ehre_chrome.htm only potential problem there is it is well below their minimum order value and delivery will be extra Good luck Pete

Hmmm drilling out with an ordinary but larger drill bit is not good as the bit will tend to slide of into the softer material ie the wood. I have had some success milling out the ends of SMALL broken screws using a diamond tipped modeling burrs such as these http://www.axminster.co.uk/product.asp?pf_...le=1&jump=0 I used a small modeling drill rather than a dremel as i could not adjust the dremel to run slow enough to be accurate good luck

I just got a nice comfy padded one from Overwater which I highly recommend. Pete

How bad is it not to wax my natural finish Warwick?
Peaty replied to Dubs's topic in Repairs and Technical
well I dont wax mine more than a couple of times a year, but the wood can get a bit dry. The warwick wax is rather hard and dosnt always soak in as well as it could especially on wood that is a bit dry. So I have switched to using a softer wax. just avoid any of the silicon based polishes. Bees-wax based furniture polish is just fine (ex spouse makes her own as a by product of her bee keeping hobby I find this works a treat). Pete Charic it tends to work the other way round kids borrow your basses, dont wipe the strings down after sweaty practice, and develop chops that puts parents efforts in the shade....It is still worth it though. -
That headstock looks mighty pointy, might have to watch out for that on stage!

+1 to what has been said, A grand day out. Just one more picture, this time of wood-work porn, the headstock scarph joint on a shuker single cut. sweeeet.

Fascinating stuff Mikey D if you are still reading this thread you mentioned back on page one that
Nope, thats why you get the Phythagorean comma when you go completely around the just tempered cycle of fifths, you don't end up on exactly the same note.
So should we think of it as a spiral of fifths or is the difference so small as to be undetectable to all but the most well trained ears? Or if you use quick time go to the window menu and choose show AV controls. In the AV controls you can shift pitch and or speed. Amazing slowdowner is another option. http://www.ronimusic.com/ Pete

Welcome Big Dave If you are round all summer you might have time to pick up a used warwick form this very forum, which is going to be more cost effective than a brand spanking new one, all depends on what you are after. Used warwicks come up pretty frequently and folks on here have usually looked after their basses pretty well. Have you seen warickhunts for sale thread he is selling his collection and there are some real beauties in there http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12376 Anyway have a fun time in Brighton Pete

Is this sort of age discrimination still legal

Hooray another bash I will have a small amount of space in my car so if someone needs a lift from oxford then PM me I will probably bring battered old Jaydee roadie and a home build, small warwick combo and VT1. Pete

If you wanted a scratch plate but with a more woody feel why not laminate one up from constructional veneer with a fancy grained top veneer of your choice then the world would be your oyster for changing those pick up routes. Given the color of the body wood you might consider a Macassar ebony or Walnut top veneer for a pick guard. These people have always sold me great veneer, check out their catalogue to get some idea of what is available. Dear Dave and others on this forum Could you suggest some suitable reading for a layman like myself about electronics in general which would also cover how tubes work and what they do, I dont want to become an expert as such but I would like understand what the various bits of circuits do the signal. Many thanks Pete

You could try and contact John directly and see what he knows about the instrument, also if you have the serial no you can try looking it up on the web site. I have found Johns prices for refinishing very reasonable. http://www.jaydeeguitars.com Pete
