5. Welcome Big Dave If you are round all summer you might have time to pick up a used warwick form this very forum, which is going to be more cost effective than a brand spanking new one, all depends on what you are after. Used warwicks come up pretty frequently and folks on here have usually looked after their basses pretty well. Have you seen warickhunts for sale thread he is selling his collection and there are some real beauties in there http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12376 Anyway have a fun time in Brighton Pete

BASS BASH MARCH 2008

9. If you wanted a scratch plate but with a more woody feel why not laminate one up from constructional veneer with a fancy grained top veneer of your choice then the world would be your oyster for changing those pick up routes. Given the color of the body wood you might consider a Macassar ebony or Walnut top veneer for a pick guard. These people have always sold me great veneer, check out their catalogue to get some idea of what is available. 10. Dear Dave and others on this forum Could you suggest some suitable reading for a layman like myself about electronics in general which would also cover how tubes work and what they do, I dont want to become an expert as such but I would like understand what the various bits of circuits do the signal. Many thanks Pete
11. You could try and contact John directly and see what he knows about the instrument, also if you have the serial no you can try looking it up on the web site. I have found Johns prices for refinishing very reasonable. http://www.jaydeeguitars.com Pete
12. Worth getting a meter on it and check that the power is getting at least as far as the jack. I had a similar problem in the past that turned out to be a duff battery connector. pete

19. Here is a link to someone's home build eub looks pretty good http://www.tomaatnet.nl/~jandijkstra/eub/specs.htm Also this guy has some usfull info http://www.eclecticbass.com/eurb.html Although he seems to have stopped building and started dealing in NS and other EUB as he says "with the WAV4 at $895, and it's become hard to justify building one like I did when you can get into such a nice bass at such a low price" Hmmm if only they were that price here Pete
20. +1 for check your diet, get plenty of dairy products, if I dont make an effort to do this my nails start to split a lot. When they do split I find a little dab of supper glue can stop it getting any worse and will see me through a gig (of course let it dry before you touch anything... including your bass).
21. Nice Bass tone and playing especially on the track 'Laura' sounds really good with the fiddle over the top. Very enjoyable Pete
22. Hi All, yup, I took it out of the cabinet and the speaker had no info on it what so ever, hence my question.
23. Hello folks, Does any one know who actually makes the speakers in EBS Evolution NeoLine Pro cabinets. Is it EBS or do they source them from another manufacturer? cheers Peter
