1. Jamiroquai - Manifest Destiny is pretty groovy
2. Quadrophenia is one of my favourite albums, but Tommy is just awful in my opinion. I am not much of a Beatles fan. Daltrey has a better rock singing voice, and Beatles were more pop for me, so difficult to say. Neither are as good as Steve Marriot in my opinion
3. He was one of the most iconic figures in music at the time. Maybe not gifted bass wise, but most people knew who he was in the late 70's
4. The Real Me, and I also like Reign O'er Me, although i guess it isnt really chords as such, from Quadrophenia
5. I think guitar plyers who say bass is easy should listen to him. He leaves me cold, but i wouldn't deny the claim of him being one of the greats.
6. I am going to assume that we also have unlimited supply of valves, then I would take my Clover Avenger and an Ashdown BTA-400and an ABM410 cab.
7. I was looking at tickets for Lionel Richie at Kingsholm, and enevitably they are on sale through Ticketmaster. There are tickets at inflated prices on sale at a site called Seatwave, They haven`t even going on general sale until Friday. Would anyone be surprised that seatwave is owned by Ticketmaster?
8. Not my thing at all, but I can appreciate your playing. Very good
9.
Stuart Adamson was the guitarist! And the singer and songwriter. The lineup that's been touring recently is fronted by Mike Peters from The Alarm. Good vocalist but very different to Stuart, I've not seen them so can't comment about whether it works or not. J.
I saw them about 18 months ago. They are still very good.
10. If you want to learn to read music,I can recommend Stuart Claytons Reading Music books . I have a few books, but i find it the best one I have tried, and stuck with.
11. A band i should have seen was Love. They were at Gloucester Guildhall a couple of years before Arthur Lee died. I regret that
12. There are loads I would have liked to have seen. Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, jimi Hendrix, The Clash, Cream, Blind Faith amongst others. Too many more to list as I was far too young for the 60's and 70's
13. Are we allowed to know what bass you have bought?
14. I bought a Pro Series Streamer, and it played and sounded perfectly. I guess it must be hit and miss on quality
15. My point is, whenever you get something controversial, somewhere in the world it will be bad timing. It is hard to know when to publish it, or take the easy way out, and play everything safe.
16. Seems to me that it is just people getting offended by nothing. I have no idea what timing has got to do with anything. Would people still get offended if the magazine was released ln September when 145 people died and hundreds injured in Nigeria?
17.
This is a good point. It's not reasonable to compare pop music of today with classical music of other times - a better comparison would be with the songs performed in music halls and pubs, sung in homes at social gatherings or published as cheap song sheets.
It is strange though. I go into local rugby clubs today, and all the drunk 20 year old`s are singing at the tops of thier voices to things like "you`re More Than a Number in my Little Red Book, and Hi Ho Silver Lining.
18. I was reading the biography of Thin Lizzy the other day. I didn`t know much about them, but found out that their first 3 albums were flops. I know that a lot of this sort of thing happened to a lot of artists years ago, but they would probably have struggled today . Today you get a record in the top 20, and it is deemed as a failure. 40 years ago, it was a case of celebration. So it is no wonder that a lot of pop music is seen as lame today, as there are so many bands that occupy the top 10 that have never had chance to develop and give the longevity that some of the older bands enjoy.
19.
What is neck dive? I gig with a 1991 Gibson Thunderbird. I just put it on and play. Nothing is diving. Blue

Watching it on the BBC red button now - i would agree about the BVs but on the whole decent show and sound mix. The new songs are very good too.
Yes, I thought overall, it was very good. As you say, the new songs are good as well. Seems to tie in with his older stuff seamlessly.
