1. Hi all Just for a bit of fun/to spread the love, we're going to be randomly selecting 10 people over the next two weeks and sending them a present (BC lanyard and business card, if I can find them!) I know it's not much but hey it's free and a bit of fun. I'll select people from the posts made from now onwards, and may pick the most useful, friendly and funny posts. You'll know by a PM so good luck!! ped P.S we'll do another of these soon but with bigger and better prizes, so this is a first run.
2. Hi guys I've just got a new computer and I'd like to record some basic videos, playing along to tunes, for YouTube etc. So My computer is an iMac and my bass signal comes from a mixer via any one of the outputs (usually I use the headphone out) The new iMac doesn't have any audio inputs, so I presume I'm going to have to get a USB interface. What do people recommend? I have Final Cut Pro and iMovie etc for doing the editing so that should be OK, just want good sound quality and for a bit of fun really. I'll use the built in camera for recording the video... Cheerz ped
3. Yes! Thankfully, and as expected, we're talking about a tiny number of people, generally new members. Quite often it's a genuine mistake, too, so we're working on making it even more obvious. Cheers ped
4. Hi guys I'm happy to see so many people playing by the rules and putting the correct valuation on their items when listing them for sale. However, we also find from time to time that users ignore the rules and list expensive items for £0 or less than £50 to circumvent the need to pay for the listing. We spent a long time working with our developer to ensure you were able to list items under £50 for free. Can you all help by 'reporting' any fraudulent adverts ASAP (button in bottom right of post) so we can take action? If this continues, there'll be two options: - Set any sub £50 items subject to moderator approval, causing delays in listing - Remove the free option altogether Thanks for your help in advance - we don't want to remove the free option to the vast majority of you who are honest and helping support the website. ped
5. Very nice
6.
Take it back I've already sold my guitar
Hehe nice one. Cheers
7.
Touche.
Touche me again and I'll.... probably quite enjoy it
8.
My stuff still hasn't sold, waste of bloody money
Not our fault your stuff's sh*t
9. Thanks Wayne, have a lovely evening
10.
Wants me to pay £40 :S
You've probably entered an amount in the donations box, too? Try again but just choose the £20 option from the dropdown. Clear your cache too perhaps. Cheers ped
11.
Suggesting the basschat would have an effect on Ric sales is a version of some alternative reality. It's a trivial forum that people read - that's all.
That's not what our advertisers say.
12.
I like the album because of the music, but holy hell is there some inspirational playing on that album, and not just for bass, guitar, drums and synth. It's fantastic.
Yeah me too. It's a nice addition to my collection and it's nice to drive to at night! Anyone know for sure who played on what tracks? Omar Hakim and J.R drumming, sounds like JR on my fave track but would be interested to find out.
13. Hehe yeah I also think musicians like the album in general because even if they aren't massively interested in the music, it's a return to the good old fashioned type of albums where you have great session players and actual instruments, grooves and of course funky bass!
14. Have to say, I never realised so many people liked Daft Punk until the news of this CD was released... all of a sudden, friends all pretend they've always liked the robots... Pretty much the same thing happened when Michael Jackson died - I remember telling a mate that MJ was one of my fave artists and they laughed. As soon as news of his passing spread, everyone was going on about how much they loved his music! Guess we're just trend setters! Fave track on the album though is 'Fragments of Time', it's got that west coast feel ala Steely Dan/Aja
15. Can't really figure out what Daft Punk are doing on most of the tracks on the album... guess they just sit and watch!
16.
I say good for "Mr Rickenbacker" there. Rickenbacker has developed a unique looking - and visually stunning bass. They don't produce my sound, so I don't buy them generally. However, I think they have every right to stand up against the copiers. I know it's not the popular view on here - but I say well done to the man.
Just a shame he's so bloody rude.
17. My Vigier is all custom as it had nothing in it originally Marleaux 3 band pre, Basstec pickups, custom pickup surround, Roland GK system Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr It's been my #1 for years now! ped

19.
Good move chaps. As you were.
Thanks I guess what motivated my post was a sense if elation after a lot of work - you wouldn't believe the time we've spent getting to this stage! I'm so pleased we've finally achieved this step. Cheers
20. BYOB (bring your own bass) I'll email Ben but all systems seem OK...
21. It's fine here...
22. I think the function was removed due to a pretty serious security loophole, but the option remains on one of the menus.. I'll find out for you tomorrow. Cheers
23. Hi guys After a lot of work we are now able to take payments from cards as well as via PayPal. Look here http://basschat.co.uk/cp/9-support-basschat/ Hopefully this will satisfy those of us who don't have a PayPal account. Next, we'll be working on the shop, some of the bugs and the mobile platform. Cheers ped
24. Hi guys Quick reminder - We'll be down tomorrow morning whilst we finalise the Worldpay gubbins. We've also posted on Facebook and twatter. Apologies for the short notice - you might have missed the mention of this elsewhere. Cheers ped
