1. Sellers are encouraged to make it clear in their ads/titles weather they'd like swaps or not. Most of the time, people invite trade options in addition to cash sales, hence a unified marketplace. It wouldn't be very easy to set up given the complicated architecture of the current setup. We might look at integrating the 'tags' system more thoroughly so you could filter items by type in the future. Cheers

help please

Hi Kev You should be able to post without any problems Make sure you click 'post' after writing your advert and make sure you give the advert a title and price (numbers only) It'll post right up with no delay. PM me if you have further probs? Cheers! ped
3. I've tried loads of different brands, including other coated strings. Elixirs are perfect for me, and they last months and months in my hands. I'll pay more for them because I buy them so infrequently. It's quite a hike, though - I doubt it'll attract many new customers. I hope it doesn't mean they are becoming too expensive to produce - I dunno what I'd do without them!
4. Yeah I really like them. Very cool design. Surprisingly unheard of, too. I think someone here recommended them to me a few years ago.
5. OK the 'Marvel' style locks will work - the screw which holds the plate against the strap will hold it securely. It'll go wide enough to hold twice the thickness of my 'Comfort Strapp' Hope that helps Cheers

Vigier Porn!

Very nice series 3 there, yeah I've never seen one in that colour before.
7. I've got a set of these which I think are far better then the Schaller design http://www.dangleberrymusic.co.uk/Guitar-Strap-Locks-Ultra-safe-system/dp/B003T6Z5JS?field_availability=-1&field_browse=1592938031&field_product_site_launch_date_utc=-1y&id=Guitar+Strap+Locks+Ultra-safe+system&ie=UTF8&refinementHistory=color_map%2Cbrandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Cprice%2Csize_name&searchNodeID=1592938031&searchPage=1&searchRank=salesrank&searchSize=12 I think they'll work on thick straps, too - I'll have a look when I get home... Cheers
8. I'm afraid to say I only discovered him when I shazamed a track from the film 'The Lincoln Lawyer' but I've listened to him a lot in the last 6 months. I wasn't aware he was so well known, so it's great to hear of other fans. Bit of a shame it's because of his death that I've found you all! Any other fave tracks/ similar artists? I'm also listening to Artie 'Blues Boy' White and 'Guitar Shorty' Love playing along with these cats - HJ that was one if the first tracks from 'dreamer' that I played to! Cheers ped
9. Sorry chaps, we can't really be having this, check T&Cs Not so say I disagree ped
10.
Init... Really sad to see this situation on BC. Not sure if everyone is suffering from withdrawal from the Rick ban thread or something, but this kinda thing is putting me off this site. I can't claim to have been on here in the good ole days but I think £20 for the year if you sell stuff regularly seems pretty good, if you don't like it stick on the bay or in a shop where they'll either give you a sh*t price or take a commission?? Perhaps the one off fee could come down to a Lady (Gadiver-fiver) but there IS a recession on and it only seems to be biting people hard (I for one) now. You don't HAVE to post it up here, you DO have a choice, I don't think moaning on about is really worth it........is it?
Yeah - to be honest I think this says it all... time to put this to bed now. We do welcome feedback, but when people start second guessing our intentions and our motives then it all gets a bit unreasonable. I'm off to browse the marketplace... please, any additional comments/feedback/plans for world domination, email me and Steve! ped
11. Hi guys All I'll say is that from our point of view, there's a very healthy marketplace which is thriving. It's matured. If you would rather sell elsewhere, away from the biggest group of bass players outside the US, that's fine. It's totally up to you... as I said, though - we're very happy with it, and so are countless members who like to use the facility. Cheers
12. LOVE this bass.... LeFay basses are superb.

16. Hi guys I think it happened yesterday - we had our two millionth post. I'll see if I can find it.... Just a quick thank you to everyone who calls BC home - keep posting and here's to millions more. As you know we're introducing a little competition where we'll give away increasingly decent prizes to posters who are especially useful, funny or thoughtful. You can read more about it here - the prizes are getting better and we have some actually fairly keepable things to give away soon. Keep on keeping on! Cheers ped (P.S the number of posts does not include the potentially hundreds of thousands from Bassworld (2002 - 2008ish) and Basstalk (2008 to about mid 2008, lol)
17.
What do you mean? Were you going to have a "No Milty's allowed" stapled to the clubhouse door?
Maybe the other forums already exist and this whole thread is just a diversionary tactic
18.
The MusicRadar forum is not bad. It's certainly not full of teenage know-it-alls. And there are some genuine experts there - pedal makers, amp makers, and professional repairers. I'd say its main problem is that it is seriously gas-inducing.
I'll have to have a look. We were lucky with Basschat because there wasn't an independent bass forum in the UK when we started out with Bassworld V1 (around mid 2002) whereas now the landscape has changed considerably. We think it'll be worth a try, though - especially as the new forums will be populated fairly quickly with multi-instruMENTALISTS from BC.
19.
As a guitar player, and a hopeful drummer in the future, I think it would be great if you could get that to work! I find it hard to find a good forum for guitar players, and GC sounds like it could be a good one!
Uh oh, I spoke too soon...
20.
I agree - tdpri.com is the best of the bunch. I thought I was missing something when looking for a UK-based guiar equivalent of Basschat. Seems not... Reckon Guitarchat.co.uk could be a good thing: good luck with it guys.
Thanks, we're looking at Drumchat.co.uk too. We're working with our developer now and just in the process of getting a rough estimate of the costs. We'd like them all to be a single sign-in so you can sign into any of them and use all three. As many of us play more than one instrument we thought if that's possible, it would be pretty cool. Also we're looking at updating, integrating and centralising the blog across all three sites with filterable content and the possibility for users to post their own blogs in addition to the 'official' BC/GC/DC ones... Exciting times ahead, I can't wait until the school holidays so we can start cracking on it properly!
21. We're working on Guitarchat.co.uk and should be done by the end of the year!
22. Very nice Andy, nice bass too. All round, classy.
23. I just don't think the seller is very clear with the various prices. All the seller needs to do it state, in their advert, what they're looking for. See these randomly picked examples from todays updated threads: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/209220-ftfs-fender-jazz-bass-ri75-japan-from-1985with-us-pickups/ http://basschat.co.uk/topic/210165-for-sale-status-kingbass-level-42-30th-anniversary-limited-edition/ http://basschat.co.uk/topic/209525-rim-marseer-custom-6-feeler/ The reason we have to ask for a sale OR trade value is so that the software can see if the item qualifies for payment or not. Otherwise people might list things as for 'trade' for example but receive offers of cash, and vice versa. We could have used the term 'value of item' alternatively but then you'd stil have to state in the text weather it's for trade or for sale.
24.
Example 672: http://basschat.co.u...ost__p__2112988 See bubinga5's comment
I'm confused too - but that's not the systems fault.
25. It's more the case of the software being a f***ing dinosaur, but we do our best!
