Last week's gig had aggro written all over it. The pub had been an established music venue, but the landlord explained to us that he stopped live bands because it was too much grief, but he had made an exception for us because we wanted to do it to get something on the CV and for the practice (ie we did it cheap). One rather drunk looking regular kept frowning and complaining to the landlord while we were setting up, after the pool table was moved out of the way. When we started playing, most were dancing, including the "doubter" and we got invited back. Result.
I sure as hell ain't no dancer, but playing bass I sway with the beat (sometimes, and embarassingly). Snapping fingers, nodding head, headbanging, it's all the same correlation in it's own way.

Beautiful isn't it?

Certainly is CV. Always loved Northern Lights, but never looked beyond that. Will now. Thanks for posting it.
I suppose this is going off topic really, sorry, but I was enthralled by that Renaissance track, I didn't realise they were THAT good. Annie is just awesome, and that bass, whatever tone it is, is just brilliant.

But they do actually run a thriving car repair business from a railway arch in East London.

I thought that was Phil Mitchell?

After the massive 1975 hit by the UKs 10cc, a US band formerly known as 5cc quickly changed their name to The Loving Spoonfull.

Very clever, I get it if nobody else does. (the gag, not the 5-10cc that is).
Just to update,
Spoke to Stringbusters yesterday and they rushed me out a set of LaBella flats which I've just fitted.
Lovely smooth strings, and fantastic service from Stringbusters.

Does any one remember the court case brought by a rival band-costume designer who claimed that the girls' skirts were a rip-off?

Yes, I remember that, mainly though, because my sixpenny shares in Velcro briefly reached 7/6pence before the banking crisis of the late 1980s.
