  1. Start collecting 2x12 cabs if you want a haulable rig of your own. At 8Ohms you will give yourself options to mix&match. The boss ls-2 is great for splitting a signal, combining different effects chains, etc. The BDi21/VXL/sansamp are great at a natural driven tone with a little edge. M80 is a very useful unit but I tested it against the ZVEX Distortron which retains more melodic tone in the dirt, and doesn't kill lows if you don't want it to. You may get a lot of use out of an octaver in the setup you are describing. Whrn building your sound before the amp you only need to make it louder. I'd recommend a nice clean amp, no need to schlep a 70lb tube monstrosity unless you're dead set on one. Have some play days at local music stores, try what's out there these days. Leave your wallet at home 😉
  2. Very nice! The B.C Rich warlock would fit in there too 😉
  3. .The 770s have different ohm versions too. The 990s are excellent headphones! Try the 250 Ohms first, very tight sound, analytic but not fatigueing(sp?). If any of your sources are having difficulty driving them you can then see if their output needs addressing or the cans need to be exchanged.
  4. Dean would fit your price range and musical interest too, good value for money.
  5. Great overdrive but loss of low end? Boss LS-2.
  6. That is a very good point!
  7. None, Fender makes nothing I like.

I have a Working pro 700 and a 750x. Gigged them for years and are still perfect! Replaced because of GAS, but not let go yet 🤔
  9. That looks awesome! What year was it built and is it a 34 or 35 inch scale?
  10. I used a hartke 3500 with a Peavey txf 410 for a bit. Between 200 and 300 bucks total I think and great sound! The bass I used was a Korean MTD 5 string.
  11. I forgot Robert Trujillo's benchmark work! Suicidal Tendencies- Art of Rebellion Infectious Grooves - the plague that makes your booty move
  12. Faith no More, Angel Dust is maybe their pinnacle album but on We Care a Lot you get a real treat to Billy's hard driven bass. Love that sound! Primus, Frizzle Fry. Claypool has been building on it ever since. Bolt Thrower, For Those Once Loyal. Jo Bench was always solid, absolutely nailed it here.
  13. HAHAHAHAHA ahem Possibly the only one near the correct spot on the list yes.
  14. Just fishing for Watts I bet!
  15. Responses about as interesting and thoughtful as the original article 😄
  16. Maybe there's a BCer in your area that'll let you try theirs?
  17. You could try playing a more sparse, held back riff to accentuate the lead bits, gives it more drama! A preamp or eq pedal can boost your signal or tone a bit when you want. The mighty Boss LS-2 can have a loop with clean gain boost or cut, which also works if you want to blend your clean signal with effects that eat low end, like many overdrive and distortion do. If all else fails the guitar could use a looper to keep his riff going while he goes off. Still get a LS-2 though!
  18. Very cool!
  19. Could be that I don't understand the problem, are you recording from a direct line or micing you amp, or using a single overhead nice to capture your rehearsal? Are you hearing the pick click when you are playing? Are you hitting a pickup maybe?
  20. Is the pick the real problem?
