  1. Utrecht, the Netherlands via Schiphol - Stansted to trade a EBMM sr5 for a Spector 5lx - Eindhoven airport - Utrecht.
  2. From the Dutch news: " NOS News • Friday, 22:48 Bankrupt Bax Music makes a fresh start with former director Bankrupt Bax Music is making a fresh start. Jochanan Bax, founder and former director, and investor Stijn Bakkeren are taking over the company. This is evident from an email from the curators to the dismissed staff, in the possession of Omroep Zeeland . Bax Music is one of the largest stores for musical instruments and equipment in Europe. Early last month, the company was declared bankrupt . It had been in financial trouble for some time and had previously filed for suspension of payments. Bax Music was founded in 2003 by two brothers, Nathanael and Jochanan Bax. Due to a conflict with the other shareholders, Jochanan, the sole board member, was fired earlier this year. Shortly before the bankruptcy declaration, Jochanan Bax already announced that he wanted to make a fresh start with the company in the event of bankruptcy. That now seems to have succeeded. In the e-mail from the curator, it can be read that he is trying to keep the majority of the staff. Bax Music employed approximately 300 people. Jochanan Bax was not yet available for comment on Friday evening"
  3. I have that 210, converted to a 112. Solid cabs!

  5. I'd check out the fender rumble or one of the Aguilar tonehammers in the For Sale section here. Amazing amps. But any time I was confronted with a TC something drastic went wrong with it so I'm hardly objective.
  6. Never 15. 12s for me.
  7. Wheels.
  8. I use the preamp section of a tube amp, in pedal form. Always with active basses (EBMM/Spector). It has two discreet channels with gain,EQ,master each. What sound are you after, do you have examples? Ar you judging your sound in bedroom/solo or in band context?
  9. Besides the IP theft each query takes a tonne of energy to process. Like a Cummins diesel rolling coal compared to a lean euro6 for a regular search engine query.
  10. Any amp with around 17 heft will do.
  11. Sounds like any of the Aguilar preamps could do this.

Didn't the EBS fafner have one? and the ampeg pf20/50 maybe? If there's a tube in the design, why wouldn't they show it?
  13. One aspect may be that RMS ratings must be given over undistorted signal, and most tube amps that are built for bass and especially guitar amplification are run way beyond clean.

Haven't seen one in the flesh yet

Good thread revival, 15 years! I have a Kustom Defender (pre-mod) that I used as a practice amp at home.
  16. https://fusionbomb.lu/ Luxemburg's very own old school thrash metal band put on a spectacular show. Their bassist was rocking a Sandberg when I was at their show a couple of weeks ago.
  17. What trips us up is that in this case, Sadowsky basically put an active onboard bass preamp in a pedalbox. Not an alternative amplifier preamp with a proper gain stage. I suspect both the behringer and mxr units will let you rattle the windows, and opens up a whole new money pit to dump your hard earned into.
  18. Maruszczyk, Mayones, Menzinger, De Gier Just to name a few more European brands. Good luck finding them for your budget though.
  19. Try very clean, hifi-like bass when the guitars go distorted and a bit of overdrive on the others bits. This helps give the rowdy parts extra dynamics and sits the bass better in the mix for the rest of the songs. Sounds counterintuitive but works a treat!
  20. Who is going to be doing the collecting? What is interesting to them?
  21. Instead of boosting the bass you could roll off some treble. Playing position, where your pick hits the string, matters a lot as well. Try the difference between playing over the pickup or between pickup and neck (where a P pup would sit). Your experience is with 1 active bass. Writing off all basses with an active preamp would be daft.
  22. Spectors are not actually sold. They can only be cared for on lease from Cetera, who curates them all. Foster Spectors.
  23. Bob Vylan is the only one on the list that I would actively pay to see perform, although I wouldn't be mad if St. Vincent played there too.
