  1. Am I not correct with both my Eden Metro combo and my EBS HD350 that I set the volume on bass to max, on the amp to zero and then feed in the gain until when playing my loudest notes (silently ) the clipping light just flickers. Then I adjust the amp volume up as required.
  2. Plus one for this. I add an Eden Glowplug through channel 2 (eventhough said channel is the valve pre-amp channel) to give as much or as little valve tone as you could need plus an Ampeg SVT 115 at larger venues. Really sounds great. Plus Ive added casters so not too bad a loadin/out.
  3. "Never been in a band before"? - so no one with any stage know-how then. Seems strange!!
  4. I need some kindling for my firepit so have offered $10 - hope he doesn't accept it!!!
  5. 150 quid bought me this L.P. blue Sq C/V 50s P bass. Expected this to be of fine quality but once set up and played in anger, I was shocked how well it produces such a great low thump. Would a swap-out of the pup for something a little more boutique improve the tones - I doubt it.
  6. Oh my lord!!! - Unfortunately, just ONE YEAR TOO OLD for my Y.O.B. dream bass. Will have to leave it for someone else!!! Haha.
  7. Guy has removed neck to post pics but bass is now not for sale any more due to him thinking its something more than run of the mill but doesnt know its value.
  8. Black tugbar on the way too?
  9. Im liking the cob-web on the A string tuner!!! Would want to keep it there if atall possible!!!
  10. Thanks Andy - Im not so sure
  11. Anyone care to speculate as to this bass's origins? Fuji 70s? Has fake F on headstock. Owner has no clue. Thanks and regards.
  12. Bass on an FS1E to practice in 1977
  13. Sale of P bass to Dan with no fuss - met at agreed point and deal swiftly concluded. Thanks a lot Dan. Cheers, Paddy.
  14. Curious to know why? I love the feel and finish of my C/V P bass neck - even with my small hands its so easy to play.
  15. So to compare tones properly, one would have to turn the cab through 180 degrees!! - don't think I will bother!!!
  16. Hey - if I could bump you in the right direction!!! Hope you dont mind. Regards, Paddy. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/fresher-1970s-jazz-bass-guitar-collectable-vintage-piece-original-hard-case/1297777465 http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fresher/197x/en_index.html
  17. OK, thanks for that - ive gone for a couple of the Derlin Red Rock Control as they look the most robust and also "rubbery" to use the reverse way round. We shall hear how they sound and will advise in due time. Regards, Paddy.
  18. Do you use the "rock control" version for bass playing?
  19. Mmmmmm - reminds me of an MRI slice of a brain - but thats just me!!
  20. I was rather hoping so!!!
  21. I'm hoping you folk think so as I've pulled the trigger on this. Includes rack case. Thanks all, Paddy515.
  22. One 4 ohm cab and one 8 ohm cab would run at 2.67 ohms so no - and also the 4 ohm cab would draw 2/3 of the watts from the head so would be 50% louder than the 8 ohm. Complicated aint it!!
