  1. Squier CV 50s P also for sale on the bay if used is a possibility - yes it is mine!!
  2. They supported he Arctic Monkeys and saw them in Sheffield. One brother was absent sick but they impressed me. The other brother with his "Iggy Pop" type moves put his heart and soul into his performance. Something a little different in todays world of "same-old rehashed"
  3. Plus 1 for the Eden Metro combo. See comments under this old advert to see how owners love them!!
  4. But will that not loose much of the grind/break-up you can only get from tube heads with plenty of gain, pre-signal.
  5. Could an attenuator be used in the signal chain? Ive wondered this when using an Ampeg head.
  6. Thank goodness - I immediately thought Barry Adamson had passed away. Great influence on me back in the day.
  7. Was that the one in Gallaghers? Looked nice in the Fbk post yesterday. Do you mind me asking the price for one of those. Regards, Paddy.
  8. Got my son (a guitarist) a Fender Ramparte last Xmas for £199 - not hard wired so can play into a bass cab through it. Gives a fine account of its self in the home. One for sale on Gtree for 200 atm.
  9. Spoken to Lee At Gallaghers in Grimsby. Hes found out that ALL the last batch of 12 to 18 RPBXs have come with the wrong necks but marked up correctly and been sent out to retailers. Another batch coming in October but because they are en route they cant check for correct necks. Im waiting and if they come with P necks, swapping mine for one of that batch. Lee's always a great guy to deal with and keen on price too. If anyone wants this J bass with double P pups, talk to me!!!
  10. I used my nearest high street Revelation stockist to special order it straight to my workplace so as to give him some business without the 60 mile round trip. The retailer is asking the supplier the relevent questions as we speak.
  11. Defo a jazz neck but has the correct model number applied - weird. A one-of-a-kind!!! £500 please!!!! Haha.
  12. Kodiacblair, what does your neck measure at the nut - thought this was supposed to be a 42mm P neck on a J body but mine is a 38mm jazz width. Good quality finish and almost spot on intonation. Sound super-punchy too with plenty of tone options. Paddy.
  13. Head back from the tec today. He had a good root round and changed a diode which was in the process of burning through - it is 26 years old. And that was it - £30, thanks very much!!! Has 6 Mesa tubes fitted by a previous owner not so long ago. Sounds like an earthquake now through 2 x SVT 115Es. Happy days!!!
  14. Snap!!! - only swapped out the bridge for a more stealth looking bass. Cost 120 plus 20 for the new to me bridge. Always my back-up bass to my MM USA sub and used on drop-tuned songs. Sounds fine with its stock pups and wiring.
  15. I must say I'm quite excited by the prospect of a new to me Ampeg SVT 2. Bought through Gtree from a very helpfull guy up north. He sent me a good demo video but he only had a guitar to play through it. What should I expect come Monday - delivery day!!! Even if the head seems to perform well, should I get a service done straight away just to be on the safe side? Included is a copy of the advert. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-bass-amplifiers/sold-ampeg-svt-ii-non-pro-all-tube-bass-amp/1312485002
  16. Go down the Chinese route - Squier CV or Fender MP - cracking quality and playability, and easily modded in the future if required.
  17. Looks of that neck photo seems a big risk to take for over 1k (or near offer)
  18. Sold a bass headhead to Jack. Paid via bank transfer straight away after agreeing deal. You can trust this guy. Thanks Jack.
  19. I thought you pulled a trigger to fire a bouzouki
  20. They were "pleckys" ( or "pleckies" ) back in '79 and they still are!!!
  21. Hi Urban, I live in Sutton-on-Sea and am lucky enough to be in a local band with my son and two other guys. Ages are 57 (me) 42,35 and 25 (my son). We are called Revelry (indie anthems band) (Revelry Band Lincolnshire on Fbk) so if you see us advertised, pop along to see us. We got together using Joinmyband and were very lucky to pick up a talented drummer who moved up here and used to travel to play in London regularly at one time. There are people out there - keep advertising!!!!
