Ampeg B1E 150w into a David Eden 1x10 volume kept pretty low but it sounds nice

They are both very good amps, I had the TC amp as a back up to the Mark Bass but didn't really take to it so sold it on...not sure why....I have heard it said that Mark Bass colours your bass sound more that the TC, maybe that just gives me a sound I prefer

[/quote] Sorry, just offering an opinion based on years of playing fretless!

The problem with trying to play by eye on a fretless is that as you look down on the strings it gives you the wrong perspective, I have never played a fretless where I can look down at the dot and find the guitar is in tune across all 4/5 strings, the key to a fretless is playing by ear, you slide into the correct position, trying to do it by eye will never work, I have always had unlined finger boards, I have played a few lined fretlesses and found the fret lines helped a bit but playing by ear is the key

I have the mid 2000's series Gretsch Electromatic (in White) with the Dearmond pickups, just a wonderful guitar....I have always lusted after a White Falcon but after buying my Electromatic I have never been able to justify parting with it or paying so much more for a Falcon. We have started taking bookings for next year and are finding more and more venues want us to start playing later, 10.30pm rather than 9 / 9.30pm then finish at 1 / 1.30am, I can understand why, as quite a few venues we play just start filling up as we get to the last bit of our second set...it just seems strange, when I was younger and willing to stay up all night, pubs closed at 11pm, we were out and on our way home by midnight...now when I really need my beauty sleep the bu**ers want to keep me up until breakfast time!! Are other people finding they are being asked to shift their playing times into the early hours of the morning?

Mrs2611 and my tastes are pretty close nowadays, she still likes Nirvana and the American grunge period which does nothing for me (the exception being Hole who we both like) other than that she is now well educated in Punk, Goth and eighties synth pop and new romantic stuff

We just introduced Back of My Hand by the Jags into our set, probably quite a left field song but it goes down a storm....I am pleased because I actually like the song as well....hopefully this has not offended anyone

Pah! Just read the link again....I wish....just spent half an hour with a heat gun on a sadly tatty Les Paul Junior double cut (with a poly finish) it removed nothing...not a jot....need a plan b now as this stuff would survive a nuclear blast!

As others have said, don't worry about it, if you make it big someone else will insist it's changed to something you will probably like even less!

We play most of the songs you mention above sadly, we used to have some definite obscurities in our set but they all gradually got pushed out when they failed to get any audience response, The Chameleons, Wildhearts, Echo and the Bunnymen, all gone replaced with the likes of Sex on Fire and Chelsea Dagger. But we get prime bookings from landlords purely down to the strength of our set list...a sad state of affairs but at least you didn't have to listen to Counting Stars by One Republic which is now in our set

They were pretty dire live but were supported by a band called Black Elvis 2000 who were awesome, I remember a chant ringing round of "bring back the support band" I think they got kicked off the tour a couple of dates later!
