1. I have asked the guy in Poole who actually has the bass for sale, I will let you know what he comes back with, if you look at the reflection of the photographer in the bass (on both listings) it looks to be a lady with a large bangle on her wrist so they are definitely the same photos
2. In answer to recent threads about song we hate playing a bit of an oppersite thread.....I have always loved The Blockheads but always thought the bass lines were way too hard to play, anyway I found myself at a loose end earlier this week and decided to have a bash at "What a Waste" fifteen minutes later I am happily playing along with the song....chuffed or what! Anyway I am off to "hit something with a rhythm stick now" (although that one doesn't sound as if will be an easy learn)
3. I am the same, I can't find the sweet spot on a Jazz much the same as the G spot on the wife....I think it's a myth
4. So I am still waiting with baited breath to know if the bass is ok or has the nuclear rage risen again......I do hope it's ok, I just haven't seen a nuclear rage before
5. trust yourself, you can do it, I like more than sitting in a very darkened room [s]watching porn[/s] I mean practicing our songs, if you can play it in the dark, you can do it on a low light stage and even look at the lovely audience if you have one and they are indeed lovely
6. Very sad part of one of the most important bands of all time
7. Yeah I like that as well
8. I guess if you have a 54 strat with a missing or incorrect knob replacing it with the irght one could easily increase the value by a couple of grand so in that context it could be a bargain form the right person....to everybody else it is a bloody expensive knob!
9. We played an open mic night recently and there was a few solo acts where clearly it was only their immediate family who thought they had even the slightest bit of talent, the worst being a wailing woman solo "artist" murdering "I Walk the Line" she could either play the guitar badly or sing terribly but not do both at the same time!!
10. From memory the B side of The Skids, In To The Valley was TV Stars....a song paying homage to Ena Sharples, Albert Tatlock and Leonard Rossiter!
11. My mates had an old punk band called "Kipper Trench" They soon changed it to "By Order of the Seven Fat Pigs" which was marginally better
12. 13 strings.....but why?
13. You can buy from Mark with confidence, and I am sure the bass will not turn out to be stolen as you are buying from a very reputable source, however what happens when you decide to part with it? Obviously, I am not casting aspersions on your character but to trade to another shop, how will they view the missing serial number? To sell privately, again you can give assurances and show where you brought it from, but there will always be doubt and hence the bass would have to be priced accordingly....personally I would walk away from it purely for the uncertainty of being able to sell it on
14. Trouble is you amass a collection of excellent basses all with a reason to be kept!
15.
Think i'll give chrome a try again, my friends were dead serious about not using firefox yet would not elaborate ^^^unedted lne
So "the man" knows I hang out on Basschat if I use firefox......it could be worse, but I am glad I view "Chiuhuaua's in Tutu's" via Chrome then
16. Cracking basses, I picked up a beaten up example recently for a similar price to what yours was offered at, I am really impressed with it, it has a huge output, it sounds and plays as well as any Precision I have ever played...enjoy
17. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e9dfe479b Look if I write the title in bold capitals it is because this is obviously the bargain of the century.....so why no takers then?
18. I love the way it was only the body that got brutally attacked...the neck must have been scared stiff wondering when it would see similar torture
19. I love playing Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, just a great bassline to play, on a completely different tangent, Longview by Greenday is good to get right
20.
From what I understand from various other threads it's a lot more complicated than just sticking some speakers in a cab... I think the cab needs to be modelled to see how different drivers would respond, otherwise you could end up with a cab emphasising odd frequencies that would sound crap... Then again you could ignore all conventional wisdom and build yourself an 8x15 with all the speakers pointing at each other and hope for the best...
I don't know I agree with this theory, the good old Celestion Vintage 30 is a common swap into many different guitar cabs and, as far as I am aware, usually gives a big improvement, probably purely because it is a higher quality speaker than the normal, manufacturer price driven, unit.... See if the cab builders recommend anything specific for the cab, if not visit the likes of Celestion and see if anything takes your fancy, they do have sound clips available for a lot of the speakers but that has always confused me as if I listen to the clip on the laptop it will sound crap...if I listen through the hifi it will sound much better! so surely the clip quality is driven by the speakers you listen to them through!
21. Evilbay currently has an all black 86 (ish) E serial numbered MIJ Precision Bass Special with a BIN of £475.00 that was the year there was no American instruments made, so effectively these were the American Precisions of that period, I have just picked up a worse conditioned pearl white example, it is way better than my 79 American bass and is as good as any Precision I have ever played
22. I really regret selling 3 basses, my Bass Collection SB801, it may be the only one ever built!, my Bass Collection SB602 Fretless (modified by Pete Davis) to a Ebony fretboard and my 78 Sunburst Precision, well the neck was 78, it turned out after I sold it the the body was a 1963, I doubt the bass exists anymore due to the way I was approached to sell it...but that's another story

24.
But im mainly coming at it as a seller, not a tyre kicker
You may dive into the section as a tyre kicker but you may spot something that turns you into a buyer! GAS
25. We have just added New Sensation by INXS to our set, it is not a song I like but because most of the bass line is played with an open E string I just feel so limited in what I can do with the song so for that reason it is a song I hate playing
