2. There's a lot of generic pictures at the same angle on musiciansfriend.com just photoshop it in, but FWIW i think black looks far better.
 3.
I'd say go for the Bongo. I know if I was in your position i'd sell the others and go for this. You wanted a Bongo preamp in your mod'ed SUB? I think this is your chance to go the whole way. As you've said, the Bonjo has a fantastic range of tones already. You only play one bass at a time, why not make that one bass your dream bass? Ps - If the SUBs going for sale, I would be interested lol.
Thanks for the advice, and if i decide to sell, you'll have first dibs on the SUB
 4. Right, i have a problem. I played a musicman bongo 4 HH in teal pearl the other day at reverb priced at a fairly low £1050 (it's been there a while, i played it a few months ago too) and my god, it's just effortless to play, the neck is the perfect width, between jazz and precision and it's sooooo smooth! Also the body is really really comfortably to sit with, much more so than my other basses. Plus it has that classic musicman growl but much more versatile, i loved it! Now here's the big question. If i sold my musicman SUB (the red one), my jazz bass and my tobias i could afford this beauty. I'd be losing a lot, but i think this could be THE one and rolls all my favourite features of my basses into one. The playable neck of the jazz, obviously not the same, but it feels really playable to me. The small, yet comfortable body of my tobias, no doubt owing somewhat to the 24 frets, which i also really like. And the growl of my musicman. So do i do it? Would i miss the others? Even though this seems to cover ALL the bases... Decisions... Talk me out of (or into) it!
 5. So much good gear been on here recently and i keep forgetting to check
 6.
Hi I know i'm being generous, but i'll give you $10 for this?
Reckon he'll say yes?
That's just *stupid*. He clearly can't reach the lowest 'instrument' with his right hand... and that's only a 5-neck!
It's not every day you find yourself saying that!
 7. damn you metaltime!
 8.
That's a slightly bizarre move by MM. No Subs and no licensed copies - I wonder what the thinking behind that is? It's not like there aren't other copies about.
MM are starting up another company soon called "sterling basses" or something to that effect, made in korea and all that. And i believe OLP lost the licence a good while ago now.
 9. Lovely bass
I've just shown the photos to my wife and all she said was 'that's a really nice fireplace'. I give up.
Sounds about right!! Although i have to admit, not the first thought that crossed my mind!
 10.
An over-priced gimmick-invested mobile phone that sold through marketing instead of technology? Cool. That means that whatever this new thing is, other manufacturers will have something that works better and at a reasonable price within 3 months.
Whatever it is, i already know i don't want one (or any of it's competitors), for the reasons you specified! I submitted:
An amp akin to the iphone in that it costs way too much, doesn't work to begin with and nobody needs anyway
I guarantee i guessed right but won't have a hope in hell of getting picked, unless the judges have a sense of humour.
 11.
If you're refering to the Vampyre thing not long ago 1) that was JakeBass, not jakesbass. 2) isn't it about time we all dropped it and gave JakeBass another chance? I mean, lets say this thread was saying JakeBass (rather than jakesbass) was a top man, theres no need to bring up something we all know happened and defeat the point of this thread.
1. True 2. no. Jakesbass seems a nice guy though. Maybe he could come to the bash and bring his upright
 12. Indeed, not quite my cup of tea, but good luck with the sale mate, brand awareness and all that!
 13.
Are you sure you're old enough to be in a pub, young man??
By about 5 days, yes, that was actually my 18th
 14. I just stumbled accross a photo of me actually smiling.... and i have to say, it's rather scary! (i'm the one on the right )
 15.
and now we have just gone HAIR of the DOG...............................
+ the 1 matey
 16. No worries, the guys on here should be able to help you
 17. hmm... i can't think what the problem might be, though i'm sure if you post on the sound on sound forums you'll get some better answers.
 18. You have excellent taste!
 19. You haven't got some sort of demo version have you?
Place locaters at the strat and end of what you want to record.
That shouldn't make a difference, if you take the loop off then it just keeps going no matter where the locators are and if you put the loop on then it will still keep recording, but it will just go to the beginning of the loop again.
 20. What happens after 15 seconds? You stop getting sound? It stops entirely?
 21. That's effing gorgeous!!! May i ask what made you opt to go for a shorter scale length rather than longer as most people do on a 5 string? Enjoy her
 22. Photos of me at new year, that one of just me is baaad!
 23. No fry up for me, though i had breakfast/lunch about an hour and a half ago consisting of a mug of tea, a plate of cold pizza and some rye bread and cream cheese Pretty much a case of if it's in the fridge, i'll eat it
 24. I'm pretty sure the bass was originally active, though i can't help you with anything else i'm afraid.
