1. Black sabbath - NIB (currently learning the guitar solo because both my basses at this house are in bits!)
2. Cool, do it if you want! Though i do like natural + black hardware And thanks man, i do like it, but it's a really brittle finish and i have some routing to do to get my new preamp to fit, so if it all chips off and goes horribly wrong i'm contemplating stripping the whole thing back, cutting the stomach and forearm contours and spraying it white. As for the headstock, i do have plans to strip back the whole neck eventually down to bare wood and laquer the headstock and put gunstock oil on the back of the neck, like a real stingray. I also plan on putting chrome tuners on it. I already have 4 chrome tuners, but they're 4 in a line and i'm having trouble finding a single one that matches the rest and is the other way around. I've found the same ones in 4 in a line and 2+2, but no single ones!! Grr!
3. Host them somewhere like photobucket and insert them into your original post with the [ img ] [ / img ] tags with the image URL in the middle, but without any spaces
4. Sounds pretty cool, any photos? I'm still planning out mods for my musicman project, it's far from finished!
5.
Next he'll be saying the ashtrays on it aren't the set he got off Ebay a week ago.
someone ask him if the ashtrays were original, go on!
6. That colour is GORGEOUS, sure you won't part exchange for a korean 5 string tobias and a few hundred?
7. Christ... You'd be expecting a hard case at that price point really..
8. Same here! I'm really excited about the SB-14
9. The redwood rays really are an acquired taste, and as your local EBMM fanboy, i have to say, IMO they look utterly disgusting.
10. It's been done before, and as long as you know they're alright then i don't really see the problem. Telling them no presents a bit of an unwelcoming image, and that's not an image the site really want's to have i'd think. Anyone can join the forum, so why can't any bassist come to the bash? Mrs Tinman doesn't play bass (i don't think?) but we all love her
11.
I think I'd be looking for a new house if I brought that one home
Small house, right?
12. 1) What do you look for in a music shop? A good range of stock of different prices and brands, not a wall full of US fenders. Competetive prices and good service, you put those two together and you shouldn't need to have high prices to make money. 2) What would you ideally like to see in a music shop? like i say, a good range of stock, as dangerboy said, a good stock of parts too, i always have parts emergencies and can never find any without buying from allparts. A good range of strings is always nice too. Some good mid-high end amps, it's stupidly hard to find a shop that sells a good amount of mid to high end amps. 3) How far would you travel? I've been known to travel to the next major city around (I live in derby and i've been to leicester looking for good music shops, i'd be willing to go to sheffield, derby etc too, so about 50 miles) 4) Am I mad to consider this? Probably, but some more shops like the gallery would be nice!
13. Ritter finishes have always been stunning, though that doesn't do it for me.... if they matched maybe....
14. I always wait at least 24 hours before i bump....
15. I have a behringer overdrive pedal and it sounds terrible. Though what should i have expected for £15?
16. Fair enough, well it does seem like a hell of a lot of bass for £600, good luck with the sale
17. Gah!, This bass is gorgeous!
18.
+1 on fugly Goodness .. How can you make basses for 60 years and still get the headstock string paths wrong?
Yeah i thought that as well. Fender quality workmanship though, obviously... Horrible looking bass IMO and that logo on the headstock doesn't do it any favours either.
19. Not to put anyone off... but that "long scratch" looks a lot like a well repaired neck snap.... I'll retract that if you can get a better photo or something
20.
You'll have held down the control key and moved the scroll wheel.
Thanks very much!!!! I've been wondering why GAK and no other website has been appearing smaller on my browser recently, i could hardly read the words, thanks for that
21. I know what you mean, i just couldn't put my finger on it, the neck isn't like noticably slim or anything, but it just feels so comfortable to me!
22. looking good! And what's drywall? Some american crap?
