1. I have one of these, really great bass and the neck feels awesome, good luck with the sale
2. thanks for the heads up, i've been looking for one of them!
3. Fine grade sandpaper to get down to bare wood, then gunstock oil to get it to feel EXACTLY like your musicman. Fine wire wool may be difficult to break through the laquer finish
4.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-STRING-STINGRAY-BA...1QQcmdZViewItem ARRGH
lmao f***ing shocker!
5. Surely not? I hope all is well at home mate.
6.
I've noticed the price of 2nd hand Mexi Jazzes going up on eBay... £300 seems achievable at the moment.
Yep, i've noticed that too, may have something to do with the fact that the 2009 mexican standards have gone up in price by a good £200 (check out GAK) f***ing ridiculous, the time to buy squier is now, more than ever i think!
7. No offence to anybody who owns a relic'd guitar/bass on here... But i really think a relic'd guitar is possibly the most pretentious thing money can buy.
8. looks like it might be ash to me.
9. For sale i have a pair of 5 strign bartolini soapbars. Reason i'm selling is because 1. i need some money for some other projects and computers etc etc and 2. They're just not my sound. They're a little bit tatty, but they still work perfectly. I'll send you the pickup wires i used and some (slightly rounded) screws too. The dimensions are: 103mmx28mm I'm not sure how deep they are, but i'll find out, if you need to know. I'm also not sure what particular model they are, but again, i'll remove them and find out if you want to know (they're currently on my bass, i'll remove them if anyone wants them). I'm also told they're from a USA tobias, so good quality stuff. They sound killer on the low B string! For these, i'm asking for what i paid for them a few months ago, a very reasonable £35 + postage.
10. Mine has been quite substantial this year for me in: Fender jazz G&L tribute L2000 frankenSUB Epiphone les paul standard Randall RX75R Ampeg BA115 Ashdown EB180 stack Korg DT-10 out: Ampeg BA115 G&L tribute L2000 Shedloads of cash
11.
ARGH, you sounds like you want doooooooom. I don't think you need that dark doomy sound in all metal though. Sometimes you want something with a bit of growl, like Pantera.
Glad to know i'm not the only the only one that like a good solid bassy sound rather than a clicky trebly crappy sound.
12. People were trying to help you with faster methods of learning the songs you wanted to learn, just because they didn't give you direct links to the exact tabs you want doesn't mean you can be rude tho them, which you were, and i didn't see anyone "personally insulting you". This is a place where people are allowed to discuss things, and you can't exactly dictate what people can and can't say, and it's certainly nothing to get worked up over that a couple of people didn't answer your question right away (who do they think they are anyway? bah!).
13. You're obviously missing the point entirely.... I'm not even going to bother.
14.
Could you explain which part of my original post in this thread was impolite?
I didn't say anything about your original post, try nearly every post afterwards. If you can't see the problem, then i don't think there's much point in arguing with you in all honesty, though clearly my opinion is not dissimilar to others that have posted in this thread. Something to think about maybe?
15.
Puts it into a highly amusing context. Since I realised I have been playing music (in other guises) longer than the young Budget Bassist has been alive, I elected to give his inflammatory comments the attention they deserved.
Honestly, i don't care how long you've been playing music, and my age is totally irrelevant and beside the point, which you quite clearly seem to be missing. Maybe if you were a bit more polite to people on here, you would receive the help you asked for.
Pot, kettle, black, my dear boy.
I don't think what i said was unprovoked at all.
16.
The irony that Budget Bassist refers to in his first paragraph wasn't lost on me either but perhaps he could've been slightly less inflamatory.
I couldn't care less, she's been rude (totally unprovoked) to members in a number of different threads and i'm getting a bit tired of it.
17. shame I am a bit of a weirdo though (and a musicman nut )
18. It's funny.... the amount of time you've probably spent reading this thread and flaming the people trying to help you, you could have found all these tabs under your own steam and learnt them by now. And FWIW, i think you're contradicting yourself an awful lot and have a HUGE attitude problem.
19. looking good, i like the truss rod wheel hole there, pretty cool idea! Also, i think your bass is effing gorgeous d-basser!
20. they're totally different beasts, keep both.
21.
Whoops, thats what I was thinking of when I was talking about whooshing noises, not Orion- for a solo, he's a bit buried by the guitars, although I'm hearing more tonight than I have before.
Ah, he is a bit buried in that, but if you listen for it, there's some great basslines. As for orion, i do think that's one of his better tracks, simple, but very good, and the bass really sticks out.
