1. Thanks for the PM dude, i was actually going to ask you what you used but i forgot!
2. I was waiting for something like that
3. Why did you sell her man?
4. Ok thanks for the advice I'm still really leaning towwards a little mark II though.... any idea how it sounds in the mix?
5. Bumparoony, the bridge screw is sorted, you can barely tell apart from some light scuffing behind the bridge and an odd screw. I've also just had the jack replaced, shoot me an offer.
6.
Out of curiosity where did you get this bass, the way the dings are it looks like it could be my old one which i sold off, itd be pretty crazy if it was.
I haven't posted any pics of mine...
7. I'm thinking about selling my tobias and my current amp head (running an ashdown EB180) which should give me £400, enough for a decent used head i think. I've seen markbass LMII heads going for that much and they seem really good, i've tried the jeff berlin combo a couple of time and it sounded really good, but how would it sound in the mix for metal? I'm after something really punchy that will cut through and really bring out the growl in my warwick and musicmans. Any other suggestions? I was also thinking something along the likes of a GK 700RB-II, an ampeg SVT-3 pro or an ampeg B-2R, B-2RE or a B-1RE. Also, would any/all of the above sound significantly better through my ashdown MAG 115 and 210T cabs until i can scrape together enough money to upgrade them too?
8. Why are you selling man?
9.
Yeah, & i could easily make a £3000 bass sound sh*te!!
as could i!
10. Nice, i can vouch for these $$'s, i recently bought one, and the amount of growl and punch they pack is truly amazing!
11. Glad to hear it matey! As long as you like it, that's all that matters right? Fwiw, i think the finish is stunning, and the wenge neck looks really really nice!
12. A bass is what you make of it. A pro can make a sh*te bass sound good.
13.
Wasn't the Vampyre designed through a similar contest? Not sure whether that's a good precedent or not!
I actually kind of like how the BO vampyre with the oiled black finish looks Although i think GASing for a vampyre around here is just asking for trouble in light of recent events!
14. good, i can't afford it anyway!
15. Certainly get some sort of bridge mute, some foam like you said, or for ease of use, you could buy a mute assembly, although they're not cheap.
16. I think he means with status neck and without the original neck for £800
17. he messaged me asking if i wanted to trade it! I don't think he realised i only got it yesterday!!! Sorry mate!
18. Ah ok then, still, a very nice bass
19. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought the old ATKs were japanese made? A very nice bass none the less.
20. No probs, it's a good site that. And sorry for the hijack dangerboy, FWIW it's a nice bass, i've always wanted a westone thunder at some point.
21. Hmm i think you're right there, it seems the one with the J pickups and solid finish were set neck and the ones with the P pickups and trans finish were neck thru, my bad!
22.
I've played a few, and found them all to be fantastic. I really fancy one of the Basics with the single Musicman Pickup.
Me too I love my musicman pickups, it has to be said!
23. This man knows his japcrap! don't argue!
24. That looks rather nice! It's nice to see something like this come back to it's former glory. So what are the plans for it now then?
