1. Why do people find it so hard to differentiate between active preamps and active pickups?
2. I'd really like one of these, I sometimes find it hard to find kit that meets my needs and this looks like a good solution, but it'll probably be way out of my price range.
I remember that one, i was trying to get our guitarist to buy one as they looked awesome! Interchangeable valve preamps IIRC? You could get a Mesa Boogie, Fender and Marshall in one box!
Yeah, that looks really cool too, i wanted one of them
3. Don't know if the site was up and running when the first link was posted, but it looks pretty damn cool linky
4.
If you're thinking of getting one beware the new model, the Epiphone T-Bird Pro, should surface next month. Bascially, the current T-Bird is a Bolt On, and has a really wide neck (it's 1.73", but quite thin) [s]which on par with the original t-birds iirc[/s], the new Pro is much like the current Gibson ones, neck through and with a width at the nut of 1.5". The Epiphone ones are also very difficult to play past the 15th fret, the combination of the heel block for the BO and the lack of a deep cutaway conspire to make life difficult. The only problem is that with the new active electronics (2EQ) and pups in the Pro and different neck woods (Pro has a maple walnut 7 piece laminate), no-one has a clue how they're going to sound. I'm *really* looking forward to trying one this summer though And in preperation of it sounding sh*te, I've aquired an Epiphone T-bird which I plan on gutting for the pups as the bridge isn't aligned properly to the body and neck and I can't be arsed to fix it. Edit: yes, 34".
Yeah, a music shop around here has said they'll be getting the t-bird pro in stock soon - they have some on order, can't wait to try one out!
5. please give me your wood&tronics nicest action ever?
6. The worst part is, it doesn't even look like it's old, it just looks like someone has taken a sander and a lighter and perhaps a few chemicals to an otherwise brand new bass
7.
Thanks. It is really nice. I'm looking for £125 (collected) on the 1As. I have 2. The one shown in the pic is the "spare". The one I gig is in much better condition.
Ooh you tease.... I'll have to get back to you on that, i really want one! haha
8. how much BIN on the black thunder with gold hardware? that's a beaut!
9.
Ah well, there's the decider.... there's no room for any more banners! lol!
plenty of room on my widescreen monitor!
10. fair enough! like i say, be on the lookout for mighty mite necks (can be about £60 or so off ebay), or squier necks, in particular the classic vibe or vintage modified ones
11. if money isn't a huge concern for you, warmoth do some great stuff in the way of unfinished necks and bodies, also allparts do some cool stuff. Mighty mite could also be the way to go for a cheap neck. Get on ebay for that one.
12. I'm fairly sure it's 34" EDIT: says 34" on the epiphone site
13. not a lot, i think they were about £200 on GAK, so in a music shop in cornwall, £250 is probably about right
14.
You probably will never be able to afford one.
charming...
15. i'd never buy a sadowsky metro, the name bears too close a relation to a crappy car that should have died when the 80's did
16. I think if he paid a low price for it, it's perfectly in his right to sell it for what it's worth. I think it would be a little cheeky, however, if he was to sell it to the previous owned for more than what he paid, but that would be his perogative. Good luck selling the bass And for heaven's sake, put a black pickguard on that thing!
17. looks nice good job
18. haha otway, what a legend! or is that leg-end?
19. dunno if you'd noticed, but there's a little bit of buckle rash on the back there.... cool bass
20. i know what you mean, some of these cheap basses have really nice necks and don't sound half bad!
21. no basses in my loft i'm sad to say! Just my sister's bedroom and some old tvs!
22.
Looks like a copy of one of the newer BC riches...(theyve started using wood in their korean factory instead of chipboard)...although...that ones probably better for not being a Rich lol...The K.A pickups are an awsome bonus aswell
Yeah, that's what i thought... similar to some of the new LTDs too (they have me fairly curious)
