1. to be fair, if people are stupid enough to buy into the sh*t that some people on ebay list, then they almost deserve being scammed.
2.
I played my first ever bass on Denmark St, some fretless acoustic, whilst out shopping for an acoustic guitar. That converted me, and I went back the following week looking for a fretless electric, and ended up with a Yamaha RBX from the Bass Cellar. Staff were pretty grumpy though! Went back a year or so later looking for a Squier Vintage Modified Precision, and not one shop in the area had one. I could have ordered one in for £250, but thought why do that when I can get one online for £180 delivered? 'Tis the way things are heading, these shops can't really compete with online retailers. I have never bought a pedal from a store either, they are always massively overpriced. For instance the last purchase I made was an EHX Nano Small Stone for £38 online, and it's £60 in some shops! I just pop in to look at the merchandise, or buy a pick/cable/book if I need too these days...
There's a shop near me called "hotrox" that's full of pedals at internet prices, it's amazing! I urge anybody in nottingham to give them a visit!
3. i have a nice fake leather one from ikea, wheely, spinny with arms etc. The arms get in the way a bit but it's soooo comfy for sitting at my pc!
4.
Isn't a 58 just a 57 with a windshield? That's what one friend told me. Not my most reliable friend, though.
Nope, different frequency responses, similar though.
5.
Those ladders ain't 'alf bad either. Remember, it's not about how expensive the things are, it's about how much they extend and whether or not there are any missing rungs.
I've got some ladders for sale, missing all the rungs though
6. It's a shame, yeah, but nevermind eh? There are several threads on the tossers at the bass cellar, and i'd feel little remorse in torching the place (after having removed a few choice items ) Get yourself over to the galllery in camden, mate. It's the new bass cellar, with less lip.
7. I highly doubt live music will just disappear, yeah some places like the astoria are closing, and it is sad, but people will always want to go to gigs, big or small, and people will always find a way to play, legal or not. And what is he talking about? "solid state recorders" ending the dominance of hard disc recorders?? They're the same thing! Obviously a man that knows not of what he speaks. Although if he means portable recorders... i know what i'd rather use to record an album, and it's certainly not one of them.
8. Good condition Randall RX75R, bought october last year and hardly used, not gigged so good cond. Really great sounding metal amp, nice cleans though too, got a really good overdriven bluesy tone from it too with an ibanez TS7. Asking £115 picked up from nottingham. New price is about £220ish, so you're getting a good deal. just ask if you want more info. SOLD
9. haha looks very punk! how many basses is that now then wayne? Also i used to own one of these, is yours ridiculously heavy too?
10. nice one mate, very solid choices them, i hope you enjoy them
11. first bass? damn... get a squier vintage modified jazz or something, not point dropping £900+ on a bass to find out a few months later that it's not your thing... particularly with the resale value these days.
12.
A man who is tired of Fenders is tired of life.
It seems that once you've tried one jazz bass, you've tried them all, though i'd be happy to be proven wrong! I like interesting basses right now, warwicks
13. i thought it was alright.... though it's not really in any sort of musical context, more showboating than anything And am i the only one that's fed up of vintage fenders? Or just fenders? Or just fenders and fender copies? Or just fender related basses? BigRedX, back me up here would ya?
14.
I've never done it myself but I hear the Ernie Ball forums are pretty good identifying MM basses by the serial number? I'm sure they'd have a record of what wood type it is.
+1, they should do
15.
Yeah, loving it right now, great tone, really hot output as well lol. Needs new strings soon though. ORganize another bash and I can bring it with my amp as well Zach
Haha, someone else's turn next time i think Looking forward to having a go though Just give me some time to buy myself something else new, haha!
16. oooh, nice inlay some sweet looking grain going on in that fretboard too
17. i want a wal now argh!
18. sweet, that looks pretty nice, nice one
19.
It looks like the control route was done with a spoon...
!
20.
Love the look of the one at the back... What's that then?
Looks like a gibson. I've seen them before but i forget the name...
21.
Haha, I think my brothers taken the camera on tour with him, so it will have to be next week for pics. Also, fixed the band link in my sig. Zach
what schecter is it? hotlink us to some generic web pic for now, i wanna see
22. like josh said, the euro exchange rate right now is rubbish. I doubt they're expecting anybody from england to buy it, considering it's a german site, and that's probably a fairly decent price over there.
23.
I'm selling because I just got a new bass, my Schecter, which is really nice and in my opinion beats the Fender, and I need the cash for various other things. K.O.D hasn't broken up, I probably b@llsed up the link lol. I'll sort it in a moment. Zach
Nice one, no pics no bass though!
24. lovely looking bass that, i think in the current climate though, you may be better off keeping it for a while. MM's don't hold their value particularly well right now and i think you might be lucky to get much money back. But good luck none the less
25.
The other one that really caught my eye was the MM with the lovely figured maple top. Fantastic looking bass! How well does your 75RI jazz do the Miller sound, then?
That's ash, but just a very ncie grain The only MM bass that's come with a natural figured maple top is the 20th anni SR4, and they had tort pickguards glued on Lovely bass though!
