1. it's personal opinion really, but i think my opinions on 'relic'd' basses is well voiced on here. Though i do want to try a sandberg out, one with mm pickups specifically.
2. is that a desert gold? I'd do anything for that.... need a sex slave?
3. wow, that looks really nice with that pickguard, i think it would look really nice in natural too...
4. yeah, what EBS freak said, i'd imagine you could only do it with EBS pedals, because it's not really a common feature, and you would have to use a stereo cable, but yeah, i'd imagine that if you're a dab hand with electronics, you could mod some of your pedals to use phantom power.
5.
this is one I made earlier… (not really)
Isn't that either omar's or frusciante's?
6. I have no idea where you might find the spare bit you need, but i'm pretty sure you can buy retrofit tuners for them, they look the same as the ones on the geddy lee to me. Is the mustand jap made? You don't need to buy a hipshot extended (though if you wanted to buy one for the E string and put the E string tuner where the G string one should have been, that would work too). This schaller one looks like it would fit.
7. I'd be leaving my college course, but it's something i could do again, and the tour could be a once in a lifetime thing, so i'd say yes i think.
8. looking cool, though i prefer black pickguards myself
9. 99p is cheap for a new one!
what chip shops do you go to? 99p is cheaper than the ones I know!
yeah, it is now!!
10. niiiice, but hey don't forget, you gotta add a bridge, tuners, pickups, strings, they weigh a lot!
11.
Thanks, I think the string spacing is 18mm at the bridge and the nut is 50mm wide. Some people like these dimensions so they don't get confused when changing from a 4 string bass.
I meant the flame maple on the neck... lovely!
12.
I can't help thinking the bass looks like some kind of sad, beached, marine creature groping in the sand in these pics.
i see what you mean, though that's not the first thing that would have sprung to my mind!!
13. I almost bought one of them, nice basses
14.
All donations are gratefully received! Ped and I have been considering setting up the forum so its eligible for gift aid too...but I think we'd have to register BC as a charidee.
You'd think i'd have seen the donations sticky up top wouldn't you?
15. The guys on the Ernie Ball forum rave about them, but then.... they would.... wouldn't they?
16.
That's a Streamer $$, I believe.
With a maple neck? EDIT: damn, the streamer $$'s do have maple necks..... I WANT ONE!
17. wow... the neck on that thing... good luck with the sale!
18. i just used wire wool, simple and effective
19.
Those frets look spotless. You're not playing your bass enough.
well now they do!
20. +1, how did you do it? I'm assuming you cut slots in the fretboard and then used wood filler?
21. aye, i didn't think of using an old string though.... good idea!
22.
Why?!!
bit too uhhh.... british for me
23. right description, wrong photo? That's an LX5 isn't it?
24.
If you use a nail file you'll end up with a square profile at the bottom of the slot. You can use an old roundwound string of the appropriate guage as a file to round it off: pull it back and forth like dental floss from hell.
Meh, it worked, it was only an OLP neck.
25. looking gooooood, wish i had the skill to do this myself!
