1. Great comms, easy to deal with and honest description of item. Bought a 2006 Ray no problems and no complaints.
2.
Had 'em both, and they are both superb basses for any knid of music you want to play on them. Rock, jazz, pop, funk anything you like on either bass. Very simillar basses apart from the pre on the Marcus, in fact pretty much identical. The bass player from Opeth (metal) uses as Marcus and the bass player from Crowded House (pop) uses a Geddy to give two examples. Superb build, tone, playability on either model, but you need to go and try them. Seriously, go and try them out. You can play any music on any bass period.
Yeah, check out Martin Mendez live. He plays fingerstyle (and fast) with a MM sig.
3. Could be yeah, the sound is lovely and rounded if that even means anything. I'm never going to get some massive cabs as far as I know, just starting out and want to play along with the guys and gals I really like.
4. I'm rubbish at dialling in bass tones. I have an active jazz bass with aguilar preamp and nordstrand jazz pickups and a boss bass cube. I love the tone this guy gets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KjOhoH0dY4 Also in their heavier stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrGu6hkgno4 Just some tips on what frequencies to cut / boost etc to get me started would be lovely
5. I think nearer 650 - 700 unless there's something special about it.
6.
P.S. I can read but only like fiction stuff really..
This is the comment that made you seem either a wind-up merchant or a wise guy.
7. +1 for UPS via Interparcel standard. They allow collection windows between 14:30 and 17:30 (in my area), and still deliver the next day. So you can place an online order for a courier at 14:29, and the kit will still get there the next way. They allow insurance for instruments. It cost me £36 for next day with £1K insurance. You need a printer for the standard tariff, but that's the only slight downside.
8.
Now yer talkin! You can't beat an old P bass. Here's my old faithful:
Jazz neck!
9. This was my first trade online. I swapped my musicman for his valenti. Keir was patient, helpful and friendly. The trade went smoothly, the bass arrived in perfect condition. Look forward to doing more deals in the future.
10. Can hear the Justin Chancellor influence also a bit of Opeth? Really rather good actually - well done.
11. Machinehead have a nice used euro 5 in a purply colour. £899 I think. I had a quick go on it last time I was in. Lovely condition and plays very nice with quite a chunky neck.
